1:32 Slight correction, Technically those are on Volvo B5TL chassis making it a Gemini 3 rather than a (integral) Streetdeck. Other than a few vents at the back and the dash they look identical.
Excuse me, I am serious about this type of project.
I needed to know why they couldn’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for most of the mainline Trains so that they could extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock which will include the class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign all of them into an overhead wire line trains and also make most of them into Five carriages per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Gardner 6LXC, Leyland 510, Cummins M11, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7 Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 10 Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into 11 carriages per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers? A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it even much more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 carriages per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 carriages per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly Line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street can they also make another brand new underground train station in Chingford and could they extend the Piccadilly Line and the DLR right up to Chingford? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Gardner 6LXC, Scania N112, Cummins M11, Leyland 510, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and can they order Every 87 Octagon and Every 48 Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 147MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 147MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units, can they use those class 55’s, class 44’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!!!!, oh can you make all of those 18 Tonne Boxes of Coal for all of those 147MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!!!! So please make sure that the Builders can do as they are told!!!!!! And PLEASE do something about these very very important Professional ideas Please? Prime Minister of England, Prime Minister of Australia, Prime Minister of Sweden, Prime Minister of Germany, Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.
I really, really hope this is a joke.
This is an idea I've had a while so I've really enjoyed watching your excecution of it! Fantastic journey, thank you for documenting it. Greetings from Newcastle!
I do love the Elizabeth line. Sometimes at some of the stations I'm in Awe of the achievements they made during the construction of the line and stations. I'm lucky enough to live on the line at Hqnwell.
Travelling on the 197 are awful very rough riding so uncomfortable and sound like a fridge on board travelled on one last month Newport to Manchester picc my back still recovering after the journey!!!!
Wish the £2 fare applied in Wales recently travelled 10 miles Newport to blackwood £9 single on a clapped out dirty stagecoach rattle box enviro !!!!
The X7 is probably the longest single stretch in the journey south to north of England or vice versa (which I've also done). It's thanks to this route that the journey can be completed in two days and not three. However three days is nicer, gives you chance for proper lunch breaks instead of rubbish snacking (and no cheaper in the end), for toileting, and stretching your legs. However, you can include across into Scotland on your third day.
Someone complained about an hour-and-a-half in just one bus!!! When you're going across Britain (as in this guy's video) you're looking at 13 hours a day, and virtually the same the following day.! You must get fit before you can attempt these things, even though you're sitting for most of the day.
Really excellent series, congratulations on this great final product! I doubt anyone will beat you with this, its an insane distance!
Great challenge! If you haven't already I would suggest you do this challenge going towards Cornwall instead. I think it would be more challenging than going north due to the lack of high density bus networks and demand in the south west of England but also just as rewarding with the beautiful scenery.
"Oh what have I done this time?" 💀💀💀
What music is that at 0:00 - 2:42?. It sounds nice and l'd like the name for it
Amazing, glad you were able to get this out! * The 36 is absolutely gorgeous isn't it? And this is the old bus, I can't wait to try out the new ones they've just introduced. * Hodgsons run a tidy little operation and the drivers are so skilled on them roads. Bus was really clean when I took it too! * What was the reason you stopped where you did? What mic do you use to capture your voice on the bus? It is really nice and clear with not much background noise. Also what camera do you use? Look forward to more journeys soon! Doing one through London on Friday which I hope to film and upload soon!
That doesn’t sound like her.
it may not sound like her but it actually is her
@@LokiAvivsonTBH It sounds A.I.
What a wonderful conclusion to a long journey! You should be proud of yourself :) Good luck to you for your exams, and take care of yourself
Congratulations. As if you finished your day on what was my local bus through to Shildon. Interestingly enough the 72 terminated directly opposite the National Express stop for the 425 to/from London.
What about do a journey London to Furthest West 😂
Any chance you can put the whole journey down and bus routes so I know a cheap way to travel aha 🤣
it would be nice if they had all different trains for each line
Yeah, but it would cost a lot of money for TfL
@@ShieldTransport Different liveries would be nice, but what if most/all the trains on one line are out of service in the depot?
Normally, under the strict maintenance schedules that depots have to do, a depot should never run out of trains. Even if stock was used from other lines, I don't think normal passengers would notice.
The 840 to Whitby would have taken you passed the entrance road to RAF Fylingdales
Petition for this guy to do Lands end to John o groats by bus 👇
Agree!
Ah I see what you did ; Harrowgate Hill just outside Darlington; Far enough North in order to get your Train back south; Its been an interesting watch; Though I still think you could have got as far as Newcastle ( Whitley Bay or Tynemouth) if you had caught an 840 from Leeds; I hope one day you'll come back up North and see what delights await you; Even try , where you left off in Darlington to continue the journey to wherever it may take you;
I once encountered a bus without any ticketing facilities on Globe holiday's service 96, and they decided to offer all passengers trying to pay by card a free journey.
Glad you made it. And I know the route to take if I want a change from Lumo to Newcastle.
Such a great achievement in these two days. The UK allows you such great routes by bus and with the are various connections is just impresssive. You could have considered the night buses from Heathrow too
An entertaining video. The bus up the Yorkshire coast from Scarborough to Whitby is a superb ride is highly recommended. Whitby bus station (adjacent to the railway station) is fairly well served by the local buses. If you have a bit of spare time the pub in the station does a nice beer! Next year, perhaps you should try a route to (say) King's Lynn and up the East Coast from there (it could be the £3 bus challenge). Also the London - Doncaster fare can be considerably below the (non-railcard) walk up cost. With advance booking a bit over £20 is achievable.
Hi it’s Paul in Kent I watched all your 4 videos well done very impressive I am doing the TfL bus challenge going on every TfL bus either end to end or most of the jourmey curtently I’m on 468 buses I’m not doing night buses but this includes all the super loops last week I even did the only mobility bus 969 full journey from Roehampton to whitton . Are you planning any more challenges have you gone on the new 358 .look forward to hearing from you Paul in Kent
Great video as always, and an interesting commentary. Congratulations on completing the challenge - wait; you say, there's a part 5 😮 !?!
Thank you for uploading this video 😊😊😊😊
Me and my mate are planning to do a race to London from Edinburgh. One of us goes down the East Coast and one down the West Coast.
It's all about the journey were you sleeping? Went wrong way in Leeds. And here is the right way Leeds - Whitby Coastliner 840 843 Transdev Whitby - Middlesbrough MAX X93 Arriva Middlesbrough - Newcastle X-lines X10 Go North East Then there are two ways: -----first way-------- Newcastle - Jedburgh X74 Peter Hogg of Scotland A bus from Jedburgh to Galashiels Galashiels - Edinburgh X62 Border Buses -------second way-------- Newcastle - Berwick upon Tweed X15 Arriva Berwick upon Tweed - Edinburgh 253 Border Buses I was really expecting Newcastle, but that's fine
Pal scroll down. He explained in the comments
Believe he stayed at the easyhotel in Sheffield? Sure it was mentioned in one of the earlier parts?
What site do you use to plan your journeys? Great achievement. Great finale.
Well, I did London - Carlisle in two days, and London - Newcastle (I think) in two days, I can't remember for sure whether the latter was two or three because I liked to look around at changing points. However, the all important info you may want to know is - you must overnight in Newcastle before heading up England's final county. With a prompt morning start, you should have time for a bite at Berwick from where you can get a cheap Borders Bus day pass. The route via Selkirk up to Edinburgh is far, far, more interesting than the direct bus (which is totally boring). And your pass will cover any quick changes. Your Borders pass will take you right to Princes Street, but if you want to explore the Edinburgh area itself, you'll need a Lothian pass (which compared to London is ridiculously cheap) Further north still requires another text, so that's enough for today.
So local buses rather than overnight bus to Inverness
Years ago, there were quite a few limited stop bus services using our motorways, many using DP single deckers but double deckers featured on a few, both regularly and occasionally. The 90s would largely see their decline, mainly due to increasing traffic congestion.
It's a shame to see motorway buses have been on the decline. The demand is definitely there today - more and more people are looking for affordable ways to travel mid-distance.
Well done! One heck of an achievment! Over the past two years, I've made 39 trips using at least two £2 buses on each trip, with me planning to do the 40th next Wednesday!
Wow! That's a lot of trips - how much would you have saved compared to before the cap was introduced?
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney I dread to think!
The 36 buses aren't Streetdecks but Gemini 3 bodied Volvos
They are indeed B5LHs, my mistake!
scanias are so ugly and horrible
you could've gotten the 840/843 to Whitby then get the bus to middlesborough then go from middlesborough to Newcastle, and if you had extra time the x15/x18 to Berwick upon tweed/alnmouth which would nearly take you into scotland
From there you can get a bus from berwick up to galashiels and a bus from there to Edinburgh!
I would definitely love to try the 840/843 route sometime. The connection in Whitby would be very short and due to the Coastliner's long route length it is frequently late. It was a difficult decision but the route straight through the middle of North Yorkshire was more reliable even if it took slightly longer. I worked out I could get as far as Newcastle that day, but would be at a risk of missing the last train. I hope to do another trip in the coming months exploring more of the north east by bus!
Congratulations on this challenge, but you could got up to Durham by getting the 7. Especially as it was only 17:15 when you got your last bus
From durham it's not that much harder to get to Newcastle though
@@artofdebate1575 He also caught his first bus at 11:00 today
It definitely would be possible to do before the end of the day, but unfortunately I live in London and would be at risk of missing the last train home from Newcastle if I'd gone all the way.
During time recording Transdev has ordered the new ADL E400 Electrics replacing the streetdeck on the 36
Indeed - they look fantastic! Don't think they're in service yet but think they will be soon.
Excellent nice to have a conclusion. You did really well and really enjoyed all 4 videos. 🎉 Wishing you a merry Christmas and happy New year. Nick
