Nice review! While with other airlines, economy passengers are packed in there, with JAL the feeling is more spacious and relaxed, often with great food. I like to call it "Dignified Economy"--an increasingly difficult thing to find! Cheers, Guy
Thank you! JAL is noticeably more spacious than other airlines - I fly with them so much that I become disappointed at the "standard" amount of space you get per seat on other airlines! The quality of the food is definitely a draw to JAL over other airlines.
Nice, glad it was helpful! A reminder that if you're flying on the overnight 787 flight, you can access the Sakura Lounge in Terminal 3 before your flight, even as an economy class passenger!
Ooh that sounds exciting! You’ll be on their 777 then. The seat does certainly look very stylish. There are a lot of similarities with economy class though.
Its not really correct to say: „Japan Airlines´s international flights use Terminal 3 at Tokyo“. Its just not the complete truth (just 50% true) and also gives very wrong information to People that maybe don´t know Tokyo yet. Firstable, there are two airports for tokyo! Haneda and Narita. If you can land in Haneda, its better, because its easier accessible than Narita. But sometimes people don´t have a choice and have to take Narita. In Haneda the Terminal for JAL (Japan Airlines) is indeed Terminal 3, bunt in Narita, it´s Terminal 2.
I'm sorry if this caused any confusion - it may have been better to state "Haneda" in the captions rather than "Tokyo". The assumption is that viewers are aware of JAL's London to Tokyo flight serving Haneda Airport rather than Narita. I agree with you that Haneda's definitely more convenient to access Tokyo, but having flown from both Haneda's T3 and Narita's T2, I actually prefer Narita. While it's a bit more dated than Haneda, it's still maintained magnificently and the passenger experience felt more pleasing and premium compared to Haneda, even if it is marketed the other way round. What do you think?
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney your viewers are probably quite international, so they have all different starting points and will therefore land different as well. Including more information is in that case probably a good idea. It’s a growing channel. Narita is indeed a good airport. It’s very smooth and fast. I actually have to land there most of the times I go to Japan, and it’s always in the evening. The long way to my accommodation is in that case sometimes annoying. I also don’t really recommend it to first timers, since they are pretty hyped finally arriving in Japan, and then the first thing to do before the fun starts, is a super long train ride (but that’s absolutely a problem of luxury). For the departure from Japan, the fast and smooth Narita airport definitely is attractive, but then the food options for your last meal in Japan are again better at Haneda. No of this both options is really bad, just in case of fast access to and from central Tokyo, Haneda is ahead. Nice video btw. I often fly most of the time with Qatar Airways, so my last time JAL is a while ago. So it was nice to check how it is at the moment before I use them later this year.
Singapore Airlines has been voted the “World’s Best Airline” in the most recent awards in 2023. Japan Airlines retains the award for the “World’s Best Economy Class” in 2023. Nevertheless, Singapore Airlines’s economy class must still be excellent, as they were ranked the 3rd best economy class in the world in 2023.
I enjoyed my trip to Japan on this airliner.
Have you tried out any of Japan Airlines’s other aircraft? How did they compare?

I'm going to be flying the reverse flight in a couple of months, nice to see what to expect, thanks!

@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney That's a really awesome tip thanks!
Thanks - lots of details! 💖
Thank you for watching - glad it was useful!
Looking forward to flying on JAL’s evening Heathrow - Tokyo flight next month. I’ll be in premium economy which looks very comfortable.

Can't wait till my 13 and a half hour flight to Tokyo next week on economy class
btw my departure time is the same as yours
Oh nice! You'll be on either the 787-8 or 787-9 then. Enjoy your flight!
Great video, someone doing a review who doesn't love the sound of their own voice.😂. Helped me pick JAL over BA... Thanks
Hahaha thank you! Enjoy your flight!
Ha, I'm doing both. Outwards BA premium economy, inwards JAL. Can't wait. I even get the Mont Blanc Lounge at Lyons!
747 japan ils sont ou?
I don't believe any Japanese airlines fly the 747 anymore unfortunately.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourneyyeah I think they stopped using 747 to save fuels on 777 or 787/A350

I think they’re overall is the best, not specifically for one aspect, I heard Qatar has the best business class.
