The reason why the Wright Scania Solar single decker had a First Group floor and Stagecoach seats is it was probably part of First PMT, then when First sold the Wirral services and their oldest buses to Stagecoach they painted them and put their own seats in to spruce them up before eventually selling then ending up at Dews.
That's really interesting - thanks for the info! Seems like that bus has had an interesting history.
Thank you for doing this series. The £2 bus fare cap has inspired so many people to take the bus or do interesting challenges. It is a shame it will go up in the autumn. I have visited so many towns and villages that I wouldn’t have otherwise visited.
Glad you enjoyed and that you’ve taken advantage of the £2 fare too. I believe it only goes up by 50p in the autumn.
Haha, I love this! I watched and commented on part 1 on my browsing account (LWR), and love this series! It even inspired my latest video (out now!) in the idea of taking local buses for long journeys, where not only did I have a bad previous night, I took a bus to a random village and also rod on a minibus! Can't wait for the next episode!
This is fantastic 👏 I hope u get far is there a limit not for you I hope u go far another great one
Haha thanks! I’ll leave you to wait and see where we end up!
Interesting place, Stamford.Had a nasty murder took place there many years ago.I only went there for football.
Demand-responsive transport! I tried that here for the first time, in a rural area, and they just sent a Toyota Camry operated by Transdev. It was interesting to tap my smart card in a sedan.
Hahaha that’s hilarious! Which area of the UK was this in? Can’t imagine that this would work well for a passenger requiring assistance or in a wheelchair (which a considerable proportion of demand-responsive journeys are likely to be from)
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney This was actually in Durham Region, Canada, but they will send a wheelchair accessible minivan if you specifically request it or it's the nearest vehicle!
Ah right - that’s good then. Transdev operate some bus routes here in the north of England too.
Attractive high street in Kimbolton.
Bro showve got the R5 to Uppingham from Stamford and then the 747 to Leicester.
That was a possible route, but the timings wouldn't work out well for me - would end up with an over 1 hour connection in Stamford.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Maybe get the MK1 all the way to Milton Keynes and then some buses to Leicester

Isn’t Huntingdon in Huntingdonshire?
Historically, Huntingdon was indeed in Huntingdonshire. This part of Huntingdonshire is now part of Cambridgeshire.
Love your Video’s on public buses… I am now 66 years young 😂 & have a free public bus pass… one downside I can’t use it in Scotland 🏴 & Wales 🏴 but I intend to smash 💥 it & travel everywhere in my boundaries of England… any advice you can give me will be gratefully appreciated… is there one app you use or do you use several bus apps? Because I have found a lot of bus timetables are not reliable… is it best to use google maps & use public transport?
I tend to use the website Traveline for bus times - because it’s a website, all the timetables are kept up to date. Google Maps is definitely helpful too. I hardly ever use paper timetables but maybe that’s just me being all new and techy…
Glad you enjoy my videos! I’d really like to do another bus trip at some point.
The only problem I have is I live in Kingston upon Hull & being near the east coast it’s like a dead end people don’t travel through it… they come & leave only so the services arnt as good as Sheffield - Leeds - Manchester - I could go to Beverley or York then travel 👍 but thanks for your help & I’ll look forward to your travels… I suppose I could get to Sheffield & do your journey backwards to London… only problem is B&B for one night or maybe two 😂
Hi what’s the app called that you use for the challenge?
I used bustimes.org to plan a route the day before, and traveline.info for last-minute emergency journey planning. bustimes.org is great as it has a live map, which was very useful to see where all my buses were in real time.
When is part 3 out?
I’m very busy at the moment with exams and events coming up - I hope to get Part 3 edited and onto RUclips within the first week of July :)
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney ok :) Best of luck for your exams
