1000% agree with the coding part, especially the part of it ”unlocking a new realm” of business ideas. The empowerment is that looking at almost anything you have the feeling ”I could do that”. Progression in working out also has a similar effect strangely.

Glad that I had such issues grow up. But low self esteem can also tarnish your image in your own eyes making self loathing a very possible reality. Need to create a balance with a healthy self esteem and sense of ambition & hard work.

I learn a lot of stuff on the internet . I am old person ,but I want to learn more stuff . This world is changing all the time ,so you need to keep learning more new stuff to make your life better.
Hey Ali, I have similar story. Grew up always as nerdy/pc gamer kid always looking for that new thing to appear "cool". Now, 31 and having been in various engineering roles, I recently took up photography and holy crap it has really helped in life. It has been a much healthier outlet for stress compared to playing pc games.
I also got into magic for similar reasons. Started learning the Sybil cut because I thought it looked awesome and I was in bed with flu- I'd do it in public hoping friends and school colleagues would see it and think I was cool. Only for them to ask if I could do magic, to which I'd awkwardly have to say no. I learnt from there and got better and better and ended up founding Exeter Uni's magic society. I agree with you- approaching a bunch of 3rd year students as a 1st year to do magic is one of the scariest things, especially since I started off doing fairly technical tricks. I quickly realised that it was best to do a good, but simpler trick as an ice breaker- the Chicago Opener which I'm sure you're familiar with Ali. As I got more comfortable I'd progress into better tricks. Was a scary experience but over the 3 years of doing it, it became fairly natural. It was a good example of how the thought of something is often scarier than actually doing it. That said, my first magic show when I was 17 went awful. I tried to do too many things w/o enough practice. I learnt quickly from that that it's better to master a few things than have a lot of unpolished tricks in your arsenal. Magic actually ended up starting my legal career- I'm currently awaiting starting my Training Contract which I got largely because of magic. They asked me about my interests and I mentioned that I'd founded the magic society etc and one of the partners asked to see a trick. I did Juan Ramirez's Coins through table (they had a plush boardroom table which worked perfectly). Weirdly I think it made me stand out and was a big factor in getting my Training Contract. I've slowed down on the magic during the pandemic but am slowly picking it back up- would love to jam with you some time.
I wish I could like this video more than once. I’ve watched hours of your videos and some are absolutely amazing but this has to be the best by far. Extremely important takeaways in this video for life in general. Thanks Ali 😊

Those card tricks are insane! You should become a magician instead of a doctor 😂
Let's be real here, ali can pretty much do anything 😂

Disagree. You are like Elon Musk (in a more down-to-earth kind of way).
Long time viewer, first time writing a comment, Ali I really appreciate your content, it has been constructive throughout my time at school, work, and school again!, I'm from Mexico and odds are that now I'm studying a MSc in London! Imagine if I bump into you some time! Cheers mate!
