Happy New Year 2023... January 1st. The energy flows from their hands to our ears 👏👏
Came here seeing Mohini on the thumbnail but tear rolled down when I saw Balabhaskar....you’ll be missed and ‘ll remain in our hearts forever..

Me too!! 🙂
Just freaking amazing.
I've never heard a mandolin sound like that.
The chick on the 5 string bass.....man.
She is getting NASTY on that thing! That turns into some serious FUNK!
If they came to Texas, I'd be all over their concert!
I can hear where the Doors got some of their sound from. Especially the track
"The End".
Sometimes youtube makes a good choice.
This was AMAZING!
They are playing classical Carnatic music and its scales on modern instruments.
Hey, Mother India! Remember that you have a loving sister living in the North. Her name is Mother Russia, and she will always be on your side, whatever happens.
Respect, love, and best wishes from sunny Moscow!
Mikhail, it's undoubtedly true. Russia ( earlier USSR ) has always stood by India in difficult times.
Love to mother Russia.😘😍😍
Lots of love to you from india❤️❤️
Thanks for support
Oh Russia soil of chekov, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky...
10:34 to 13:50 That was an exceptional performance by Mohini Dey.. an Indian bassist who needs no introduction to begin with. She absolutely slapped it!
They needed to Mike her up quite a bit.
still listening this masterpiece in 2024 ❤️
This group is phenomenal, Each musician is amazing. As a bass player myself, I find this bass playing woman beyond words. The percussionists are completely amazing. The other string musicians are fantastic. I can only say wow, I am overwhelmed.
Nall
Mohini Dey, if you want to search her on RUclips
@Will Brooks This concert happens in my city - Bangalore, India. The song itself is a hymn written over 200 years ago.
@@sandeepdevapur5933 Great, thanks for the extra information! I had no idea it was a hymn.
I felt that mrs mohini deys performamce in this was far below than standard of all others in team. I skipped her part. I don't know whether it's because i am unable to understand the instrument. 🤔🤔🙏
Mohini, Balabhaskaran and the other artistes in the team are great musicians. Balabhaskaran will always be missed by the true devotees of this team.
Watching again for Balas smile.. missing him again and again.. rest in peace sir .

Yep!
It’s always a pleasure to see an advertisement during a brilliant solo. Thank you RUclips
Really rude of RUclips to interrupt such sheer talent.
We lost two genius musician from this group Mandolin Sreenivas and violinist Balabaskar too early. Bala's case was too tragic. Rest in peace. 🙏
Mandolin Rajesh still kickin’ it. His brother U. Srinivas passed in 2014 from complications after a liver transplant.
He was the mandolin player with Remember Shakti
Isn't the mandolin player U Rajesh? (or is it U Srinivas?)
Its rajesh
Wow! Indian Fusion is great! So many dimensions to its complexity. Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava does it right! Each individual has extremely high individual technique, yet they always work together.
Man Indian Music is like an Ocean. You just dive in and keep going and going and going and going.......
All Mahaganapatim songs in the Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava are... no words... just listen... summana kelud..
Balabhaskar will always be missed by the true followers of his talent.... though ‘ll remain in our hearts forever.. Mohini is a bass phenomenon ... brilliant .... Drumeo and the Ghatam player and Mandolin.. all are exceptional....
All are gems.... and the jazz drummer is so good that he carried the flow from instrument to instrument....
RIP balabhaskar .😭😭😭😭 You were literally awesome with that violin ....you will be missed man😥😥😥
Just saw the news after reading your post. Indeed, we were marvelling at the great violinst. Truly sad news.
Felt shocked to know he is no more..why god takes away good people out of the world.RIP bala
Lost too soon...
I witnessed the Mandolin genius U Rajesh 3 nights ago...
Imagine his agony... Lost brother 4 years ago & now Balabhaskar.
Narayana, we need musicians on Earth not on Swarga.
If any Audio CD of this programme available. if yes, please give me the contact details
Very sad... We lost an amazing musician Balabhaskar!!
Thank you All:):) Thoroughly enjoyed performing this concert. And now, Missing our dear Bala!!!
Speechless sir🔥❤️🙂 i wish to see you once
I am addicted to this
Amazing, thanks!
Jump to 12 minutes and see some insane bass playing!!!!!
മറക്കില്ല ബാലഭാസ്കറെ.We love so much♥️♥️
My favorite part is the drummer and the Ghatam player communicating complicated beats with nothing more than facial expressions!
There parts are well rehearsed.
If there will be nobel prize in music... definitely these people will be deserved 🙏
@ 8:07 Bala Bhaskar did something phenomenal move ..
What an incredible Virtuoso.
Incredible mandolin ! Superb violin ! Mesmerizing bass guitar.... and Awesome drumming from the percussion instruments ! Thank you so much 🙏🏽
I love music....when I'm listening to this type of music then my brain works higher level at the workplace and at the same time able perform well in my educational ....many thanks team
I have listened this Jugalbandi many times. I say this 20 minutes of mesmerizing music. If I started it, my wife knows that, now I will be hypnotized by the magic of these 5 magicians, for the next 20 minutes.
But I say them Gods.
Gods of music have come down to earth, for a 20 minute concert, and now I will be so involved, that even if Yamraj comes at that time, I will ask him to stay for the next 20 minutes.🙏🙏🙏
Wow! This is too class! Each single member is a superb impriviser and the music that pours out of their fingers is golden!
What a great event. Every Indian particularly proud of our Carnatic classical music at this juncture.

Shut your bledy mouth you asshole. British just looted india nothing they did for india.
I have been into Fusion for almost 50 years and it will take me another ten views to fully absorb the absolute mastery of what I just beheld. Talk about East meets West. Wow. That was stunning.
this is a classical Carnatic composition several hundred years old, played by thousands of groups before, but its the first time I heard it with drums and bass, 5 strings at that, it was kick ass and I can't get enough
Maybe the most extradinary bit of instrumentation i've ever seen. Always a joy to watch!
Excellent no words … kudos to that girl playing the guitar in the midst of lengends
the violinist- well- all of them speak the language of God when God is feeling oh-so-groovy. I am re-captured every time I hear this. I understand that they are all superbly gifted in their instruments, but in this song it's the violinist that takes me to that place I can almost SEE the angels dancing. . .
I agree with you.. . violinist is melting the heart
Wyld Heart For me it's the use of silence by the guitar and keyboard players that I find most refreshing !! ;)
Wyld Heart his name is bala bhasker ... from kerala
Balabhaskar's solo stage performances are worth watching. Not only a good violonist but a great showman, too.
Wow
Wow! What a beautiful sounding and looking bassist. Many seasoned bass guitar players cannot touch her. I praise her.
google her videos
Darrell Webber dude everyone kill there each and every players nailed there by bass guitarist.....damn can’t describe by word long live MOHINI
Darrell Webber hi u need to watch jossy John an Indian bassist who is also highly gifted

I'm not gonna lie I have watched this video more than 10 times and I can watch it forever cz it never makes me bore a music like this is forever ...
Its an old composition around 18th or 19th century. They made it modern.
Its called Mahaganapathim Manasa

Aa: S R3 G3 M1 P D3 N3 S

Why would people give a thumb down most people couldn’t play @ this level
I've never seen or heard musicians quite like these. I love this piece.
Amazing, awesome, fantastic! There are really no words! Mohini Dey, she is the best bass player ever!
did you all know that God loves the virtuosity.
yes He does!
and this is it.
the pure and genuine virtuosity. yes it is...
there is no other else to say, or coment about...
That bass solo had me in tears. The power of music right there. Simply supreme.
PS. The rest was awesome too!
RIP BalaBhaskar....immensely talented...perhaps the Gods wanted him more than us:(

All thanks and praises to the goddess Mohini Dey for descending from on high to bless and amaze we mere mortals!!! Damn you can play!!!
They ALL can!
Awesome fusion rendition!!!
Mandolin Srinivasan and Bala Bhaskaran were so talented. What a loss to the music world. May their souls RIP.
The percussionists were exceptional.
Ghatam! Absolutely mind-blowing! No words to express! Hats off to the performance 🙏
Totally agree!
The fusion music emanating from Asia has been opened to me via Mohini Dey; I owe her big time! I've been a fan of The Mahavishnu Orchestra from the 70's. Jan Hammer was a mind bender! I'm so glad to hear fresh creativity is still growing in this vein! Mohini still amazes me every time I hear her play! As a bassist, I bow to her!

Really greatfull.

At 18 minutes and 20 seconds U Sreenivas ends the ‘MELAM’ returning to the starting notes of Keerthanam; crowd cheers, he bows to them graciously and responds to Balabhaskar, who smiles appreciatively, then turns to Mohini Dey, who normally goes about her business with an imperturbable demeanour, and teases her using the strings of his beloved companion to which she responds with a big smile, Balabhasakar, and the men on percussion (Drums and Ghatam) join the party, transcending the spectators to cloud nine.
wow ......awesome.........Mandolin U Rajesh, Bala Bhaskar on Violin, Arun Kumar on drums, Giridhar Udupa on Ghatam & Mohini Dey on Bass

Came to watch Mohini in all her beauty & talent.
Left having a new band to follow.
Hope they are still together.
Love the music.
Unfortunately no, The violinist and and the mandolinist passed away tragically.
@@rajamanideepbaggam7810 Raja, thank you for telling me. I did not know. This is sad news for many reasons. I will pray for them and know their tragedy every time I listen to their music.
@@rajamanideepbaggam7810 The mandolinist is very much alive. His elder brother, U. Srinivas (a much more famous mandolinist, an absolute legend) passed away in 2014.

Others have said it but listen up. The bass solo should have been raised +10 dB higher. It is mind boggling at 13:34 when Mohini goes "full tabla" on the strings - *with both hands* - and her guitar *obeys.* Surely Saraswati herself was pleased.
This is one of the best fusion rendition to a classic song ! So rich and strong delivery of every instrumental performance in this masterpiece!!
La meilleure bassiste du monde, après son père qui etait le maître cosmique inconteste de la basse.
This is truly beyond imagination. As if they come from another dimension. Absolutely fabulous!✌💓

@@subhash.... Yes, that might be it. After all, this is fusion music. It's the contrast and interplay of the Carnatic and western elements (bass guitar and drums) that makes this performance so beautiful and exhilarating.

I think you should check out Shakti. Also, John McLaughlin with the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
@Jamil-ud-din Akhtar At first this sounded to me like it was going to cover a Shakti song, "What Need Have I For This....All is Bliss". it didn't, & it's superb in its own right. And as brilliant as McLaughlin was then, I think Rajesh could have given him a run for his money. And Mohini Dey... Mein Gott, she'd make Jaco weep...
Absolutely beautiful.the bass diva and the guy on the small guitar.
Actually that small guitar is a modified mandolin design. The artist is U. Rajesh. His brother U. Srinivas was a child prodigy and designed this kind of electric mandolin. He was a star classical carnatic musician when he was 9 years old. Unfortunately he passed away.
Ok, so, this is like unbelievable. Are these people or musical superheroes?
They are trained in classical Carnatic music.
Total coolness, every member of this musical ensemble is super-SUPER strong musically. Great job folks, I really enjoyed your performance. Be well.
Awesome. Harkens me back to the days of the Mahavishnu Orchestra,
