BRUH there’s already been two teens under 18 that have died from this virus, and one didn’t have any underlying illness, he was a healthy kid. Apparently he died from septic shock, which has now been said that COVID-19 gives sepsis, it’s sort of a malfunction that causes you to have organ failure. This virus is not like the “basic flu”.
If she already knows the dangers and is walking around like nothing. If they trace the Covid-19 back to her. She should be charged for being irresponsible.

I guess most people are more worried about the cartels than the virus and you can’t blame them. You can protect yourself from the virus but not the cartels. Even if your in jail they can walk right in and put 50 bullets in you like they have in the past to other people.
There’s a huge problem here: many, many of these people you see walking by in the streets live in a situation in which if they don’t sell stuff they and their families don’t eat that day, so they go out and risk their lives in order not to starve.Let’s have that in mind.

Same with the UK, people don't panic until it comes to there area; what they don't know is it's already there in the shadows. The growth curve is exactly the same, just delayed between countries, depending upon when the first case arrived and a few other social factors. It's extremely saddening and disappointing to see just how ignorant people are; Italy was a wake-up call for the entire world, but people are not listening. So many people are going to die needlessly, it's just sad. I would not be surprised at all of see 10's-100's of millions of people die globally, perhaps more because of how hard poorer countries are going to be hit.

I'm surprised how carefree the flight attendant was. She among many of people in that profession are the kind of people who should be fully aware of the risk of how contagious this virus is. Maybe this was filmed a while ago, because things are changing so fast now.
HIeu Tran my friend is a flight attendant who was also very dismissive and lacked the basic understanding of the depth of this crisis.
Flight attendants probably have the potential to spread it to quite a few people as well. But everyone thinks they don't have it, if countries didn't take precautions everyone would still be going about their lives.

I want to give some enlightenment for those that are bashing this flight attendant since this is not getting out in the media:
FLIGHT CREWS ARE STILL WORKING FLIGHTS BECAUSE PASSENGERS ARE STILL FLYING. AND, THEY ARE BEING DENIED TESTS- especially those who are younger and still are showing symptoms!
These comments infuriate me because my baby sister is a flight attendant and she does NOT WANT TO WORK, but rather HAS TO since the general public are still flying AND SHE WILL BE FURLOUGHED next month if the government doesn’t bail out the industry! While she has no symptoms, she has been informed that a passenger on her flight tested positive AND STILL- she cannot get a test!!!
You people are the same people who deny a bailout that could help the employees, yet you’re mad that they’re still having to work and expose themselves while you are still buying tickets to fly! Edit: I also forgot to mention that most state governments took action early to prevent the spread of the virus. Many people DID and STILL do not realize that. They thought that AMLO diregaurding the virus meant that no one in any one of the state governments of Mexico would take any action to stop the spread of COVID-19.
I live in Cancun. Schools are closed as of last week. The hotel zone is looking more and more like a ghost town. No tourists. Stores and restaurants are closed or have limited hours. People are encouraged to social distance themselves. Children are NOT allowed to play together. Perhaps this video was taken a couple weeks ago or more....

After China, Italy was the first country to react by making massive population tests. Massive population tests have been carried out here since February in Italy after the discovery of the first case of corona virus .

The president of Mexico said that 3 weeks ago buddy. Mexico since then has taken many precautions to slow the spread of the virus. Social distancing, stay at home, cancelled classes a while ago and other major events as well. We are even receiving text messages from the govnt telling us to please stay home. I say they are doing a pretty good job. It's not perfect but they seem to be a very responsible government when it comes to this issue. People of Tijuana have been self isolating since a month ago, said to last 40 days. But now theres an official lockdown. I haven’t been out in the cities, like Centro or Playas de Tijuana, so i can’t say whether people are following lockdown order.

I'm sorry, but this is biased. I live in Mexico, schools have been closed since March 17th, cinemas, restaurants and places like that have either been closed or, in case or restaurants, switched to food delively, everyone who can do home office is doing it, most people are staying at home. Who are the people who one can see on the street? Mostly those who cannot afford to do home office. Sadly, half of the mexican economy is sustained by informal workers, so they don't have a steady income, nor social security. They have to go to work otherwise they won't eat, as simple as that. Sure, there are irresponsible people who won't pay attention to the goverment's recommendation, but they are beyond the governmet's control. Just because we're not panicking (I'm talking to you toilet paper hoarders) doesn't mean we're not taking safety precautions.

A good portion of the Mexican people is not using the guidelines given by local governments or government agencies to take precautions. In my local state of Sonora, the beaches of San Carlos got even more packed because school was canceled so people took it as an extra vacation. I can only imagine to its being dealt with down south in the more populated regions. Regarding "we're not panicking", there are already stores being sacked in Mexico City, look it up.
There also no travel ban or any enforced precautions to slow down the upcoming explosion of cases. I guess the logic is if people are going to get infected, better for them to be stress-free rather than panicking cause we know how the people in Mexico will react and regardless of what the country does Mexico does not have the capacity to sustain itself in a pandemic.

You can't compare Canadian responses to Latin countries. Canadians by nature are not very warm people. Hugging and kissing tens of times a day when greeting each other just doesn't exist. In general terms Canadians are distant, cold, shy and to top it off, they have the experience of having gone thru SARS. You will never see the numbers you see in Spain or Italy in Canada. Canada is a more organized, less drama country and that is currently, a great thing to have.

I have been in Mexico since Feb 11, on an annual trip with my mother, and we have decided to extend our stay. There have been no reported cases of coved 19 in the Region of Lake Chapala, where we are. Schools have been out since early March, vendors wear masks, social gatherings have stopped, we all know to keep a distance of at least a meter and a half, and to not hug, shake hands, or touch others upon greeting. There are plenty of precautions we are taking here in Mexico, and it is most definitely not life as usual here.

With more than 40% of Mexicans living in poverty, less than 30% have bank accounts and MANY relying on their DAILY income to feed their family (selling flour tortillas, candy, fruit, singing on buses etc), if they don't go home with money that day, they don't eat. How long do you think that can last for, for families all around the world living in poverty under lockdown? Do you think it's more concerning to potentially catch a virus or be denied the ability to put food on the table for indefinte? What is happening to our humanity?

It's the number of infections requiring hospitalization over time i.e. rate of serious infection that's the concern. That's what the term "flatten the curve" means. This virus is 10 times more infectious than influenza. The difference is, we have the vaccines and treatments for influenza, while we have nothing for coronavirus. Sudden explosions of cases will overwhelm hospitals and the entire medical infrastructure resulting in many preventable and unnecessary deaths. People don't wait to act for natural disasters because those are visible threats, but the reality is that those phenomena pale in comparison to the coronavirus in terms of both human and economic cost. Just because a threat isn't visible to the eye, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I also live in Mexico and ppl are taking precautions. They have cancelled events, fast food is to go, my kids school has been cancelled for a month, some people are starting to hoard things here too. Can't find bleach, hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, or liquid hand soap. Maybe AMLO is trying to calm ppl so that it doesn't cause panic 🤷 idunno. But i agree that alot of ppl who can are staying home. I live near the border and there is almost no one crossing.

My mom works at the hospital and has flat out been exposed to a patient with the virus who later died (patient was in his/her 30’s). They didn’t warn her that this patient might have it either before she saw him or her. My mom has been trying to get tested for a week and still nothing.

Well, now let me make a point about ECUADOR in my personal opinion, it's a shame on the general management carried out by the government and all other responssibles people who are supposed to take care over the well-being and health of the Ecuadorian people.
On the other hand, it's outrageous and disappointing that Ecuador doesn't have something essential such as a well-endowed SANITARY SYSTEM available to each and every citizens who lives there.
It's heartbreaking to see the lack of protection for Ecuadorian society. "And, the insecurity produced by mistrust." The country in corrupt's hands, means insensitive, it's a shame on what politicians is doing in Ecuador! Politics and abuse of power is linked to, this is 'save yourself who can' all the misfortunes for the most unfortunates those ordinary noble people are the most vulnerable.
What irony, these political figures, they say they're to serve both the country and Ecuadorian people, but at the end of all they turn their backs on the country and, if they can take advantage to steal more, like better. Of course, they just are able to manage the issues from their mansions and good apartments "with them and their family well protected against the global threat COVED19". Furthermore, suddenly, all politicians test positive for the coronavirus, which forces them to work at home "miserables". And meanwhile, (the mangy dog is all fleas) disloyal to their homeland and their people.
And finally, Srs / Sras please act and redirect the sorry state in which Ecuador finds itself as a consequence of the disastrous management that you tend to apply, (instead of building, destroying the social, economic and industrial aspects from the country).

I live in Mexico and this is what I have to say about the quarantine. Mexico is a very complex and diverse country, it's like there are several realities taking place at the same time. There are millions of people with elementary education or no education at all. At the same time, there is an important part of the population comprised of highly educated, resourceful people. While some are fortunate enough to be able to work from home or rely on their savings, many others live from hand to mouth and if they don't go to the streets to work, they don't eat. I can assure you that all the people I know, as well as millions of others, are locked down at their homes, but millions can't afford to do that. On the other hand, many people simply do not have the intellectual resources to fully comprehend the urge to stay at home. Every time I go out to buy food or run a first need errand, I see people who are working and trying to bring some food to their tables, but I also see many who are clearly just hanging out, not taking any precaution, whatsoever. I have also seen on RUclips reports that show markets, concerts, easter celebrations full of entire families with elders, children, and even babies. When these people are asked why they are not respecting the quarantine, they simply respond that they don't care about the virus, or that they were bored at home, or that they are following a tradition they are not willing to give up to. What all these people have in clearly in common is ignorance. It is true that a month or so ago the president of Mexico encourage people to go out at embrace each other, but now the discourse has radically change and the authorities are stressing the importance of staying at home, but many are simply not paying any attention.
