Hearing the two of you (you and the farmer) talk to each other and openly question each other about if one of you may be wrong was really refreshing to see. There's no accusations, no ego, no belittling, and it doesn't come off as a challenge - just two professionals working together to get to the root of the problem to make sure this big boy gets his hoof fixed. That type of interaction seems rarer and rarer these days. Thank you for doing everything you do for these amazing animals.
This is one of my favourite ever comments - I hadn’t really thought about that conversation until til I read your comment! Thanks for making it and thanks for being a part of this incredible community!
Hear hear! It's enjoyable to hear "grown up" conversations discussing the same desired outcome. "Have you done this?" "First thing I tried." "Okay, what was the second...?" (Not trying to copy what was said on the film, just a really professional attitude.) The aim is to find the solution asap, and not just a possible one but the right one. Gents like Graeme and the farmer have my deepest respect for that.
Lol I thought the questions sounded a bit abrupt, but I could clearly see and hear that they weren’t being taken that way. So thank you for adding to my cultural knowledge! (Perspective: I was born and raised in the United States Deep South in Georgia where how you say things and the words you use are often strict as to be nigh biblical.)
@@TheHoofGP Thank you! Over the course of my life I have worked both with and for too many people that would see a conversation like that as some sort of insult to their knowledge. The few I have worked with that have your attitude are absolutely worth getting to know because they have a wealth of knowledge they love to share.
No wonder he was hurting: he was carrying his own personal gravel pit! He's fortunate to have a caring farmer and your crew to help him. I hope we get an update.
he's an absolutely beautiful little bull. I hope we get to see him again once he's in his prime and puts on some more weight. or is he full size and that's as big as he's going to get?
When you said the Farmer focus on more natural atmosphere it really tells on the bull himself!! He wasn’t stressed, just in pain, and he seemed to know you were there to help and trusted you
Keratin is an incredibly versatile material. Hair, fingernails, claws, hooves, horns, and even whale baleen: it's all the same stuff, just structured differently. Back in the day, people used horn the same way we now use plastic. With heat, moisture, and pressure it can be shaped and molded and then carved to make everything from spoons to knife handles to art plaques and brooches.
Hi Graeme, you probably won’t see this with how busy you are. I asked your advice re a coffee machine a few weeks ago. Well, I took the plunge and took your advice and bought Sage machine and it’s AWESOME!! A whole new world of caffeine heaven has opened up, it’s incredible! The difference it makes starting the day with a really good coffee, there are no words!!! Thank you so much! Oh also your book arrived yesterday and without a word of a lie I can’t put it down! You’ve lived about 6 people’s lives during your one life, it really does read more like a thriller than an autobiography 😊. Thank you on both counts, Kathy xx
Congratulations on the coffee machine Kathy - we use it as our “treat coffee” 😂😂😂 A little more effort but WELL worth it! You should check out “Jellyhill” coffee - that’s what we use, from a small coffee shop in Glasgow - it’s fantastically smooth but rich and almost chocolatey it’s that good!
We are all applauding the loving farmer who called you and the whole team involved in getting those sharp stones removed. I know some will say the farmer was only protecting his investment, but most of us would know that this bull means much more than income to this farmer. That bull is family.
That poor sweety was so patient despite the pain and extra damage. Those stones looked a lot like obsidian, which are so very sharp. Awesome job helping.
In my completely unschooled, non-professional opinion that was the sweetest, most laid-back bull I think you've ever shown here. Dare I say he was adorable? Except for the head bashing, that is. Way to go, guys! Thanks for the new merch, too!
This old vet from Canada loves your videos. I bought some merch to show off and confuse my friends. I bought something from Scotland too funny. I only avoided the Bulls in the field on patrols in West Germany. Cheers, Pro Patria.
Graeme, your book just arrived in my mailbox. I was in the middle of washing my kitchen and pantry floors and peeked inside the book.... and started reading. The mop and bucket with water and detergent are just sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor, the hot water has turned cold, and the floors are only halfway done. I can not put the book down. I am so glad that I bought it!! Thank you!! I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, USA. I am surrounded by hundreds of acres of pasture land and beautiful green valleys. They are beautifully decorated with Black Angus, Hereford, Charolais, and Holstein cows. I feel very blessed to live where I do. I am a devoted follower of your videos on RUclips. God bless. Keep doing what you do. You are a blessing to others, but most importantly, you are a blessing to the cows. ❤
It nice to not have music and be able to listen to the relaxing sounds of the peace and quiet of the farm. He is a beautiful boy, it is very satisfying to see the help and care these animals get.
Just wanted to say the book arrived and i am already hooked. I cant put it down which is is why im still awake at 6am on a Sunday morning. It really is a captivating read. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I know nothing about farming or cows apart from that they are beautiful and the more i watch your videos the more obsessed i become with cows and Scotland. I love your videos and seeing what you are up to. Keep up the amazing work.
WOW as someone who has owned horses for over 30 years and dealt with many farriers, I find this channel VERY informative and fascinating. This POOR BULL! That wasn't a cut or a shear that left a canyon!! I can only imagine the pain this big guy was in! Thank you Graham !
I mentioned to my son that when my brain is fried from life and politics I pop on The Hoof GP. He said you watch The Hoof GP? Yea I love the HGP, so do I! We proceeded to geek/nerd out over the Hoof GP. It was awesome thank you so much!
I walked out to the car barefooted the other day and stepped on a rock I instantly thought of these poor cows/bulls stepping on them. Thank God they have you❤ Great job caring for them
Been followin you since your second crush and love seeing the development of you and your crew and at the same time beeing true to your content. The lovely way you talk about the cows and their hoofs have not changed since day one. That is what we all love about your channel. Keep up the good work and the joyful banter😊 and have a lovely day to you all
Hi Graeme, just wanted to comment that I have received my signed copy of ‘Bruised Sole’ and have started the written journey, only a few pages in, and have been reading in a Southwest Scottish accent in my head! Congratulations on getting into print, and allowing us so much access to your life, and work. All the very best Nick.
I can just imagine the conversation between you two: “Hey, uh, I kinda knocked his horn off…” Anyway, another great video! I’m glad you were able to help this beautiful big bull, and I could tell from the amount of blood how sharp those stones were, and how much pain they were causing him. Keep this up! Love ur vids! ❤ Edit: So happy that the new merch finally released! I just LOVE how you put a cow/bull (I can’t tell what animal that is) wearing a hat saying ‘HGP’ on it for the pajamas. I would really like to buy some but I’m afraid I either don’t have enough/they don’t have my size. Love it though! ❤
Sometimes, most times now, I hesitate before I start your video's. I hate to see any of these animals in pain, even though I know you will help. I usually do watch because I want to see you and hear your voice. I wish I had a son like you.😊
I can literally sit and watch these videos for 2 hours with a cup of tea before i go to bed after a long day at work. I love the intro music and the fantastic work you do. Its fascinating to me because i would never have even thought about cows hooves or how they could become problematic. So this is all very educating.
That brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the red stuff instantly pour out as soon as you removed that first stone and knowing he'd been like that for more than 2 weeks.
First - what an absolutely gorgeous Bull, with his curly, red-brown coat. Poor guy, already has a sore hoof and then injures himself by knocking his horn off. 🤦🏻♀️ Also - I’d like to echo what many others have said: the interactions between you and the Farmer, respectfully and with humour, trying to get to the bottom of the Bull’s issues, was lovely to hear (and the fabulous Scots accents were a bonus 😉🏴). Another job well done, Graeme. Mr. Bull will be feeling better in no time - and Yes, that must have hurt like hell. 👍🐂 Cheers from Ontario 🇨🇦
What a great video Graeme! It is so refreshing to see your back and forth interaction with the farmer being civil and dignified, something we don’t see much of anymore. Hopefully people will follow your example!! Once again, thank you for helping this poor bull and making him feel exponentially better. You, Craig and Kev are rockstars!!!! Hoping to receive the book soon, can’t wait to read it!❤❤
From someone who just moved to the country of Colorado, I am inspired to start learning more about how to care for larger animals, this content always shows how much you care for these majestic creatures, happy to see you always so cheery and optimistic about your profession :) And if I had more money I'd love to snag all of those awesome hoodies and shirts, glad to see you rocking the hoof gp swag, have a spectacular day mate 😁
Just watching thinking how much I love your videos!! But quietly I don’t know what made me start watching years ago ! You are so good at what you do and you’re so genuine and kind! And guess what ,I’m here loving cows and loving the care they get in a beautiful place so many thousands of miles away!! Thank you 😊
Received my book today and I could hardly put it down. The first three chapters were history which I enjoyed, now for the hard stuff. God Bless from Wisconsin, USA
I got my book yesterday. I'm off for the next few days and I'm gonna read every bit of your book. Thank you so much. I can't believe my signed copy of your book got here so fast, thank you again and thank you for taking care of all these cows and bulls and everything you do and your an amazing person.
Thanks be to God for sending you to give mercy to these docile creatures of His creation. I have been enjoying your show for several months now. I can see that you and your co-workers get true happiness for what you do for others. God bless you for doing your best. I wish you much success not only with your business but with your family and friends also. Scotland is very beautiful. I live on the beach of the Chesapeake Bay in Norfolk, Virginia, and it is beautiful here too. Have a great day and I look forward to seeing your next show.
Graeme, now that you've added the jammies to the merch line-up, you & the guys need to have a "wear your pajamas to work" day! 😂 They're super cute! 💚🐄🧡🐂💚

You are an angel sent to take care of not only the cows but their owners. What a relief to have you to call upon. There should be more humans like you ❤ God bless you
I really like how you explain your reasoning for things, like why you didn't put the block on right away, it really helps to learn "in the field" as they say.
Thank goodness they have you guys there to help them and you are all just amazing people for what you do and g’day from us in Tasmania Australia ❤❤❤❤ 12:55
These (Especially Bull videos) are my favorites because of how hard they are to work with but also how important the bulls are to every farm. Just knowing that there are ppl like u out there to help better their lives with a simple block or actually finding the problem where they can heal is so great❤❤
Oh dang! His poor head horn! I’m glad to hear that it won’t be a big problem for him. He’s such a beautiful bull with all that dark, curly fur/hair! I’m so glad you were able to fix up his foot! Those were such sharp little stones! I also bought a hoodie, and a shirt, and the Christmas pajamas! I hope that your Autumn is full of joy and wealth! Blessed Samhain! 🍂
Just stopped in say your book arrived today. I’m in upstate NY and love watching your videos. I’m looking forward to reading your book. God bless you and your family for all you do for these cows and bulls.

Probably a little bit doped up too
@@rc-dailyprobably not
@@CostaWanti I'd bet he is. He even says they've given him pain medication.
What a great temperament. All that pain but he didn't give you any problems. Thank you for helping him on his way to being pain free.
yup. on my Granpas farm the cows were chill and all but these boys were MEAN af. You had to give them a lot of respect.

Thank you for dedicating your life to helping animals! The work you do is so heartwarming! 😄🙏❤️
Such a well behaved a good looking bull! All these comments regarding your book are making be all the more anxious for my copy to arrive!
I just love watching you and how much you actually care about these animals!

I received my sign book today 11/2/24
Normally, I can watch the trims, just fine...but This one has brought tears to my eyes! He surely had a huge reason to be sore!!!
@7:22 I love how the phrase "No bloody wonder he was sore" did get any censorship at all, at least not here in the States.

You are an angel sent to take care of not only the cows but their owners. What a relief to have you to call upon.
There should be more humans like you ❤ God bless you
That was the most beautiful bull. I loved his curly hair! It reminded me of Graeme’s hair when it gets longer.
I’m so glad you were able to help him.
Dang! Thank you for fixing this bull!❤❤❤
I really like how you explain your reasoning for things, like why you didn't put the block on right away, it really helps to learn "in the field" as they say.
My heart hurt so much for that poor cow!! Thank Goodness you were able to find the problem and help him.🙏🙏
This poor boy! And he was so good for his trim
Oh bless him, no wonder he was in so much pain. You all do an amazing job with all those gorgeous animals ❤. X
Poor poor beautiful bully boy. Thank you for saving him.
This big guy is a beautiful beastie! Thanks as always for sharing these interactions with us, "The Herd"! ❤❤❤
Thank goodness they have you guys there to help them and you are all just amazing people for what you do and g’day from us in Tasmania Australia ❤❤❤❤ 12:55
Yikes! I have seen hundreds of your videos, but rarely do I see blood running as soon as you remove the stone! Nice job as always!
Remarkably quiet calm fella for all the pain he was in.
Precious creature. Thank you for helping him.😢😊
Beautiful animal with a konka in his claw. Thanks for taking care of him
These (Especially Bull videos) are my favorites because of how hard they are to work with but also how important the bulls are to every farm.
I hope this really beautiful Bull will recover soon. I also received your book today 😊 Thanks Graem
Amazing job guys. Definitely want an update on this beautiful big boy please xx
Just stopped in say your book arrived today. I’m in upstate NY and love watching your videos. I’m looking forward to reading your book. God bless you and your family for all you do for these cows and bulls.
These are the videos I love to watch
Hermoso trabajo gracias por hacer mejor la vida de estos formidables animales ❤❤❤
