I learned this trade in Portland Oregon at Bucks Stove Palace , I’ve rebuilt several hundred old stoves from cooking and heating stoves, I hold my Hat to you Sir.
An old man and I were the maintenance crew for the new Headquarters building of C&H trucking. We always had lots of spare time, so were were always restoring things the president of the company would bring us. We rebuilt old cast iron Hunter ceiling fans, an old wagon wheel axle, an old "Torpedo" type Lincoln welding machine and even some old woven cane bottom dining chairs. Anything we couldn't buy my boss and the shop foreman would make it from scratch, including making sand casts for casting iron parts. I was in my 20's, but I learned a lot about restoring from those two old gentlemen. Harland Gilmore was my boss' name and Bob Wakham was the shop foreman. Between them they probably forgot more than most people would ever learn in a lifetime!
I love everything old, and being able to see the restoration of this old stove could enchant me, only someone with magic hands can achieve something so extraordinary

A work of art, in every sense.
Thank you so much :)
Great restoration! Wasn't the handle ceramic though to resist heat? Wondering how the wood handle will hold up.
Of course, the handle should be ceramic not wood.
Frankly it would be more safely reproduced with high temp plastic, which he could also turn on a lathe and paint. Ceramic would be perfect, but it doesn't look like he does ceramics.
@@johnconnor555 Surely should be not wood.
Результат как обычно 👍
Спасибо Александр :)
Castle Wolfenstein stove, excelent job!
Thanks :)
There is a reason for the enameled handles, that is so they don’t burn and don’t transmit heat. Thoase wooden handle replacements will scorch and burn.
Enameled handles can transmit heat, but they don’t burn at all.
It wasn't a enameled handle, it was a ceramic

I learned this trade in Portland Oregon at Bucks Stove Palace , I’ve rebuilt several hundred old stoves from cooking and heating stoves, I hold my Hat to you Sir.
Wow, I'm so happy, thank you :)
Thank you for your story :)
Je n’ai pas compris de quel côté sort la fumé ! Bon travail 👍🏻
I love everything old, and being able to see the restoration of this old stove could enchant me, only someone with magic hands can achieve something so extraordinary
