I have watched you since the program DWTS FIRST STARTED.You Cheryl have always been my favorite dancer. I come from a life of dance as well . As a young girl I took lessons five days a week from age 3 to 16. Studied Ballroom after Tap and Jazz. Moved to San Francisco in 1978 and started teaching Ballroom on Market St. Disco was hot then. My partner and I danced all over the U.S. took out students into competition. Had the time of my life. Love hearing your stories. Retired my knees at 40 after three operations. Now need two knee replacements. Just like football players. Dancers only last so long. Keep them coming Cheryl, we love you🥰

Really enjoy your honesty, for I believe that growth comes from learning from our mistakes and admitting to our faults, rather then making excuses for them

Wow Cheryl~ I love your videos. You come across not as a know it all or a person above anyone, nothing at all or like that. But rather a real Woman who has lived a life and also knowledgeable. I appreciate hearing your videos and getting to know you! You are golden❣️

Thank you, Cheryl for your honesty about your life
Sad, you had to grow through the abuse alone
Am glad you are healing + forgiving the people who did this. .I am sorry you felt you couldn't open to your parents. .
That is very common. . Keep making the former mess your message. . You will help many people . .
And, yes, keep sharing about your dancing journey . . Looking forward to more.
Love watching you on DWTS ❤

Hi Cheryl. I really love ballroom dancing but my parents couldn't afford it. We do not make much. I am from the Philippines and I am very passionate about learning this sport. I am saving my income from selling candies at my school and i hope one day i will;l be as successful as you, my idol in the dancing world, and the best dancer.

My daughter was exactly like that. I took her to college with me when she was 12 years old and men at the school wanted me to line her up with them. She was 5'10" tall had a beautiful shape and was excellent with her makeup. I was so frustrated with the way men looked at her. She is now a Network Architect engineer. What she does I can't even understand the language of the tech stuff she does. She also flies around the world doing what she does.

I want to hear about what it costs to be a ballroom dancer if you can't make money from it. Where did you stay and how were you able to budget for meals if you couldn't work or earn a stable income from your dancing and it was just you and your partner? Did you have to live in one space with other dancers?

Would love to hear any tips you have for finding a partner in places where the ballroom scene isn’t as big.
I started dancing in the Bay Area (which is why I like listening to your stories, because I recognize the names lol) during college, but since I moved back home to San Diego it has felt like the studios here have more of a social mentality than a competitive one u_u

I felt so bad for her when she got scorned on media for saying what she did about working with Ian. I watched him on another show and he was so full of himself and obnoxious. I could totally see where he would be a nightmare to work with!! Ppl really are getting out of control with being politically correct 🙄
