Rice Paper Wrap: Super Easy Tumbler (even for me!)

- One of my favorite methods of getting beautiful artwork onto a tumbler with very little effort is by doing a full-wrap with printed A4-size rice paper. The paper comes ready to apply and is just the right size for a 30-oz thick or fatty tumbler. Use a little Mod Podge, add a little holographic nail tape, and boom! Beautiful tumbler! Even for someone like me who can screw up just about anything, this qualifies as an easy tumbler to make. All the resin gods were with me on this one.

This is beautiful. Quick question have you ever used vellum paper on a tumbler? I found a beautiful vellum sheet that I want to use.
Thank you!! No, I've thought about it, and then when I started looking into vellum, I found so many different types of papers all calling themselves "vellum" that I wasn't entirely sure what was what. And that's as far as I got. 🤣 But I would do pretty much exactly the same thing as you saw me do in this video -- as long as you use a clear glue like Elmers or Mod Podge, that should seal the paper onto the tumbler and be good for resining over. Good luck and let me know how it goes if you try it!!
I have some beautiful Stamperia rice papers from jewelry making days (I called the technique epoxy decoupage) and now I know what I'll do with them!! This turned out gorgeous!! Any secrets to using that super small 1mm nail tape? Mine always breaks, no matter how gentle I am with it! Haven't gotten it on a tumbler yet, but wasted a good bit!

Yes, definitely get out your Stamperia rice papers! 💙 As for the nail tape, it just took me awhile using and breaking it before I homed in on the best tension (but that doesn’t keep it from still breaking on me sometimes! Holy heck!! 🤬), but I definitely sympathize. Other than continuing to practice with it, I don’t have any other advice, I’m afraid 😧

Thank you!!! Almost all the rice paper I buy is from joggles.com. They sell a lot of different brands -- this one in the video is Stamperia, but most of my other rice paper tumbler videos have been using the Ciao Bella rice paper line. If you visit joggles' site and search on A4 rice paper, you'll see a vast amount to choose from 😁

Thank you!! Yes, there are definite constraints to using printed rice paper on a tumbler. What you have might be better for a mixed media canvas composition or a journal.
@Luxinda Swirl Resin Tumblers I'm starting to learn about junk journals, there is a crafters retreat in Alabama in August and that's what they do. I've been one before, it's amazing
@@tinawaller37 that's great - junk journals are so fun because they can be *any*thing! And rice paper is a great material for decorating pages.
