Why are people hating on this car? This is a test bed for the GT-R in unknown territory in FIA. Different races have different rules. If you want to see the full potential of the GT-R then you should youtube Super GT Racing in Japan...I have respect for FIA, but you have these 'bloggers' who ballwashes strictly European and American cars, and are disrespectful for what the Japanese has accomplished in the racing world. If you're a true car enthusiast, this is an awesome machine regardless...
I never said it was a lot :) Even my little Honda revs to 8400 RPM. F1's don't go over the 19k rev limit, even in qualifying. The 19k rev limit is a rule set by FIA as part of the plans for closing the gap between high-budget and low-budget teams.
@99999999999999999931 It's a much better race engine than the 3.8. The chassis is still a GTR, which matters a lot in performance as well. That makes sense.
please read about under square super square and over square engines and you will find the answer for this, for an example i can say mi garden choper puts out 10k rpm its a diferent engine and its desing its totaly diferent at all by the way if you look at fia series exist something named RULES and limit the full potential of the engines to be competitive for the other cars thanks for your reading BFE(by fast engineering)
I believe a DNF doesn't actually count as being beaten by all GT1/GT2 cars and miles behind in the race? Also, I believe didn't do too bad means - It was an OK performance? It wasn't far off the pace and with the FIA always giving success ballast and restrictions, it'll do ok.
it was 0.7s slower than 2010 GT1 spec Ford GT and finished miles behind it the race... it was beaten during the race by all GT1/GT2 class cars ...I don´t know any good in that performance to call it didn´t do too bad... the same weekend the Audi R8 LMS gave it internatinal race debut in Silverstone FIA Gt3...first race second place, second race second and third place fnish.. thats what I would call not to bad
did not well at it´s first race... qualifyed as second last car in the GT1 class 5 seconds behind the pole position GT1 a Saleen S7 driven by Karl Wendlinger...in the race it finished 28laps behind the same S7 with rear axle problems.. second last in the GT1/GT2 race
@xb250power im agree with you but read what this guy say ))) 7400 isnt that shit my littl honda blabla bla they dont know absolutely nothing about engines thats what img talking about, its not the engines capability to get high rpms only its the full desing of whats the engine for but any way just them talk, cheers
Audi has familiarity with FIA. Why don't Audi join Super GT Racing in Japan and see where they turn out...Oh that's right, they don't even exist in that league...
Miss these GT1 cars something fierce

I cannot wait for next years GT1 World Championship, hopefully it can return to its popularity when it was along side the ETCC.
Love that bump shifter! I need to get one for my vehicle.
Yay! Here comes the all Mighty GTR!
Left-foot braking is pretty common in GT cars nowadays. Depends on car and often driver preference.

Listen to that turbo, whew!
wooooooooooooooooooooooooow !!!
is that AWD or rear wheel version ???
but engine is still V6 .... it sounds little bit V8 i think!
You still need to press clutch when downshifting, but not when upshifting.
Didn't Nissan say they were planning of building an engine (modified VR engine) for the new racing gtrs?
it's th 5.6l v8 out of the armada, some one need to drop that thing in 370z....... 560z f@%^ yeah

welcome NISMO!
is it a 6 speed or 7 ?
remember that audi has been in these kind of races for ages
sounds like the gear ratios are so short, kinda sounds like it should be in a drag race too me.
gear ratios can be changed depends on circuit...
vk45 or vk56???

I didn't know that at the time, but I do now :P
@350z33hr Not to mention the GTR won 1st place already in this FIA GT1 beating lamborghini and Aston martin to the podium..
SOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!! Silverstone 2010 !! :)))
That's not a turbo. That's straight-cut gear.
Why?
what mazda has that rotary 4 ltr?? o__o
actually the M3 GTR was the first road going M3 with V8
its to meet regulations for that race series, it does not allow forced induction or 4wd
Have a look at Gigawave MotorSport's website. The Cars Spec's are there.
It didn't do too bad since its a 2010 spec GT1 car which will be slower than the current 2009 spec GT1 cars.

they are limited to 18k rpm. otherwise we will see machines that run 22krpm until pistons rods break and pistons fly into the air :)
hey bigkckrva, someone were argue about hating GTR.. at ZR1 VS GTR.. Darryl where keep talking too many people..
Paul Ricard?
To me it sounds wrong ... especially at lower RPMs.
It's like the tacho doesn't follow the sound properly.
