My highschool sweetheart Richard Lee Turner III, named after his grandfather (also in WWII, also grandpa Dick) was in 82nd Airborne.. His dad was Chief Petty Officer in the navy, but Rick adored his granddad and wanted to follow in his footsteps. He was shot in the helmet in Desert Storm. Saved his life. Just thought of that when you mentioned your grandfather before.
You've lived a full, exciting life and have put lessons learned to admirable use. Loved your book as well very much.

My grandfather was struck by mortar in WW2 as well. In a strange twist, it ended up saving his life, as well as the life of the man who carried him to sick bay. That man ended up staying with him overnight in the tents. The next day their entire platoon was wiped out.

I got glassed when 19, left a deep scar in my right cheek and above left eye, also my right elbow got few stitches when I fell on the broken bottle. Not at gay club, your story is better but the guy walked free, the court decided that he was emotionaly disregulated. His mother died year before, and because of that no jailtime, no compensation, no charity work, no criminal record, nothing.

Oh man the 20s... 😬 I will just say, if i wasnt crazy then and experienced all i did... I would still try and live certain stuff now in my 40s. So i am actualy grateful i went 'all in', i was not emotionaly able to build anything back then, i was just so anxious to live to the fullest, experience as much as i can and have crazy experiences with crazy people... Cus when i looked at my parents i knew all the 'freedom' will end soon and i will have to get serious and do something with my life. I got bored soon with everything, alchohol, drugs and partys became boring, also the people, so i started looking for the true values in life. It happened very naturaly, when my hormones went down i guess 😁
I also observe the people my age now that have finished education in time, got good jobs, got a house and kids before they were 30...now many of them are unhappy, divorced, partying and searching for that what a lot of us with crazy pasts found early on. But they cant find it and are lost in it...
My stomack sometimes hurts of shame when i remember my 20s, but i am glad i lived that life, a bit dark and dangerous, but now i know certain things - and if i ever have kids i will totaly know what they are on and when and will have good advice for them! 😁🙃 Thanks for being honest ✨

Our own ways of navigating the highs & lows & being human. I can't even begin to wrap my brain around someone going out with intent to hurt another for anything... but especially for their sexual preferences. I don't care who people sleep with or find attractive. It's none of my business. Live and let live. Sad to see how many people are hurting, thus inflicting hurt on others. I learned the importance of slowing down & really being present in my life in my 20's. The importance of appreciating the tiniest things. Seeing my humans for who they truly are.

That was really eerie, listening to you tell your story! It felt like you were my male counterpart... like if I was a man, I would have been you (except for all of the martial arts and military stuff). Way back then, I did a lot of the same sort of stuff (which was actually completely out of character - man, I was so lost) and listening to you, I just kept thinking, "same, same, same .... same"! I thought I was the only one . I've never met anyone quite like me before; and I'm often misjudged and misunderstood. After an awful lot of trauma, I ended up in Amsterdam with a narcissistic ex-pat Englishman (also) Richard, who was involved in all sorts of things and a whole surreal world of crime I'd never experienced before. Back in Australia, I was also a "door girl" in disco's whilst attending Uni - again, a whole different world to the sheltered private school girls' world I'd grown up in. Dux of the school, my teachers also had high expectations of me. I'm still getting over the shame and pain of my own 20's and 30's to be honest, which is one of the reasons I enjoy your you tube videos so much. I can so identify with so much of what you say and how you feel. It's kind of refreshing because I'm so used to men being so different to me - narcissists, liars etc. I love your honesty. Yes, I'm a recovering "narcissist attracter" as well. There were some lovely men interested in me, but do you think I could find them attractive? Nope! At any rate, I'm old now and finally settling down into a genuine sense of spiritual contentment. The lessons I learned were hard, and I wish I'd have learned them any other way, but it is what it is and it was what it was. Thank you for all that you do. I really do appreciate your work.
