  • Just a quick update on the Top Guns ACE Kit Supercharger post-install. I have been very busy lately and haven't been able to upload in weeks. I have run into issues with oil leaks, exhaust leaks, and timing issues + misfire. None of this is related to the Super Charger kit itself, and my experience remote tuning with Eugene Turkov has been spot on so far. I explain some of the work that will need to be done over the next few months in order to get my Nissan 370Z up and running again, and get the Z34 tune finalized and get the car on the dyno.
    The top guns Air-to-Air (A2A) kit has been running really strong for me, and is supposed to produce 525whp on pump gas once the car is running at fool boost. However belt slip from the Vortech V3 supercharger unit has been preventing me from hitting 14ibs. I will be tightening the belt in the coming future, as well as upgrading the radiator core and replacing all intake and exhaust gaskets in the car.

    Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed this series. Been great to see it unfold and for some of us, it brings the possibility of doing this closer to reality. Thanks a lot for doing this. Hope to see your car back in working order soon!

    You don't need to remove the front clip to get to that front timing cover. Pull the fans and the radiator and that's more than enough room to get to everything on the timing cover. Push the steering pump and the a/c compressor to the side and you'll be able to get it out no problem.

    So did you dyno the car? What HP total and gain have you made?

  • @gusam4552
    @gusam4552 3 года назад +1

    I had same kit as yours and also tuned by Eugene. I had the similar boost level as yours around 11-12 psi. After some trouble shooting. Such as check boost leak and belt split. It seems it’s relatively hard for Aaron's kit to hit 14 psi, because I already tighten the tensioner to the tightest position and using stronger gates RPM belts and make sure no leak in the system. but the highest boost I can achieve is around 13 psi. It’s not a big deal, since 12-13 psi on an 11: 1 compression ratio is about the limit of pump gas. but just want let you know Aaron achieve 14 psi and 525 hp in Minnesota during winter where temperature is around freezing level and air is much denser. It probably will be more difficult for you to achieve that in Texas. Just for your reference my car dyno about 465hp at 11 psi.
    I also have some issue with super charge belt temperature. I’m wondering do you have the same issue on super charger belt running very hot? My belt temperature exceeds 210 on street driving and melt on track. I already went through 3 sets of belts.

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  3 года назад

      Thanks, this is actually really insightful. I was going to crank the supercharger another turn on the tensioner and see if the engine load fall off improves. Good to know that 13psi is probably more reasonable. I haven't directly measured my belt temps yet but I will need to look at this when she is running again.

    I actually kinda prefer watching you fix your car more so than the dyno results etc lol. I’d never attempt these repairs on my Z/G37 unless there’s a video/guide on it. Especially the oil gallery gaskets in particular would be a good video.
    Btw it maybe backordered at Nissan, but is it backordered on Infiniti?

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  3 года назад

      Hahaha, yeah, it's much easier to do in mechanic simulator, that's for sure. And I imagine nissan and infiniti pull there parts from the same place given the similar part numbers.

    11psi? Are you sure that's safe on stock internals or are you planning on burning that motor out for a rebuild soon anyway?

    • @thecarizon504
      @thecarizon504  3 года назад +2

      525whp has been determined to be "safe" on these motors, all though it largely depends on how you drive it. I rarely give it full throttle because I want the motor to last.

    The oil pressure code would be my greatest concern. Is there an oil pressure gauge in the 370? You also have to be knowledgeable on the use of a scan code. I have seen codes tricked many mechanics. Its the live data stream you need to analyze.

  • @christiansmith2425
    @christiansmith2425 3 года назад

    Could’ve told you the oem gasket was bad, every single car before 2012 does not have the MLS and will eventually lose oil pressure in the gallery causing the cams to wig out because they run off oil pressure.. low oil pressure on high rpm = eventual boom boom
