    Nice video, it should be noted the guys using “OP” products have been doing this very same method for years now, in fact DIY takes a lot of inspiration from “OP” the idea of using a waterspot remover that sucks for removing waterspots but is good at cleaning inorganic and organic contamination ( aka minerals ). That idea is some six years old from “OP” some 8-9 years old from labocosmetica who did it before OP. So the idea of decontamination like this has been around for the last decade it’s just been popularized by The guys at DIY, same with DIY’s rinseless which also took cues from OP and their Eco wash which dropped 5 years ago now. Just a little history. Good video tho.

      Hey Amir thanks for chiming in my friend, glad to have you on the channel. There's not much new in the detailing world these days, we're recycling methods, there's alot of new comers so the content can help them out and most ppl arent aware of what you just mentioned and OP isn't super well known in general for the youtube audience etc. Btw you should already know that the co-owner at OP is Yvan ex partner within Optimum, they both ran the company before they left, make sense that they share similar processes and connections. OP is also from Nebraska. Cheers brother. ✌️

    What speed are you running on the polisher and how often are you swapping out pads? I've never had a RUPES pad delaminate unless I was running at too high of a speed, with too much pressure or not swapping the pads often enough.
    Using a Lake Country Pad washer and running down at speed 3-4, I can do an entire car with one pad and it will look brand new afterwards.

      Hey Jeff thanks for chiming in, I have always been a speed 5 guy generally even with the corded. I tend to switch pad after 2 panel or 1 hood for example, when I fell its time. Cleaning after every pass with brush or air. But LC foam have been doing that since covid they changed the backing from black to white, the black one never did that. Those rupes are brand new and only coming with a the polisher kit, we'll see. I dont use the pad washer, dont wanna add another thing on the floor for space concerns. Speed 3 or 4 i feel like not doing any work, its a mind thing. Cheers brother. ✌️

    • @Detailing_Dogma
      @Detailing_Dogma  Месяц назад +1

      Hey Eli, definitely polish a new car, I'd use like you mentioned a finishing polish and pad, address maybe deeper stuff with more aggressive stuff if that doesnt cut it then use a long term coating if you're going to keep the car for a while. The polish in my experience will boost the gloss and depth of your paint even new, not to mention new cars have been rubbed a lot in most cases and needs attention. Hope that answers your question enjoy your new ride. 🤝

      @@eliavedri7876 it will for sure, If you dont have the real lighting you might not see one right away but in certain situation you will. It wont hurt anything to do a finishing polish dont worry, just do 2 ou 3 passes, go coverage and dont over think it. A black, orange or yellow pads should be perfect for this. Remember some new cars sits outside a for a while, gets brushed, rubbed and washed. I have never seen a ''perfect'' new car.

      It's ultra smooth and cordless, can't go wrong. I have never had a polisher that smooth, the nerves will appreciate it. That said it stalls a lot but I can manage and handle the machine the way it is. I'm not going back to a cord anytime soon. There's a few technique to avoid that and keep having good correction, I have not downgraded my work after switching from the corded version. If money is no object go for it JP! Thanks for watching

    What advantage do the blue pads have over DIY detail pads? More cut than the GS waffle pad and it finishes better than the wool pad?

    • @Detailing_Dogma
      @Detailing_Dogma  Месяц назад

      Hey man, glad to have you on the channel. I can't speak for DIY pads I dont have them. Ideally you want to stick a few pads and master them to eventually get the best work in least amount of time. LC makes pads for the majority of brands and their HDO line-up is just pro in every aspect, the backing quality has some issue in last few years but I still love them. The blue is a solid one-step on most paint, cut good and finish respectable. Can't compare to DIY GS since i havent tried it. Keep in mind a wool pad would need a follow up step generally speaking regardless of the brand and yes foam have better finish than wool or MF for sure. cheers. ✌️
