Just had my first foray into flake tobacco and opted for the Peterson brand. I must say, I was very impressed. Nice aromas and great value for money due to the slow burning nature of the tobacco. It does require more relights than ready rubbed/ribbon tobacco but that's no huge issue. A nice long relaxing smoke.
90% of my cellar is flake. I def. Prefer it whenever it’s offered. Store a lot more, moisture is consistent, different packing, many other reasons. Restoring a tobacco cutter now and looking forward to the fun of cutting some plugs I’ve made.

For me best method, rubbed up between my hand, form two balls and bring it with little pressure in the bowl. Works perfect 👍

Fold and stuff for me. I like that it creates a slower burn. Stokkebye LNF is my favourite.

use watchcity... they shipped a tin of baccy to me up in maine and we have the same laws about shipment.
Is it advisable to store it in its flake form or can one rub it out and store it in ribbons?
You can store it either way, but the flavor profiles can change based on flake vs ribbon storage.
Usually I just pick a slice, fold It and plug it. It's the best me

Best way imo. I used to use a knife but I switched to EMT shears, it's much faster. You can get them very cheap.
