I went on mission trips to Ruidosa and Candellaria (including some wading across the deep stream) back in 1968-72 as we delivered food and clothes when needed from the DFW area. We built, using Adobe Bricks, a building for church ministry in Ruidosa in one summer. My college roommate worked with an organization called the "Invincibles" and they were a Baptist college aged team that were all Spanish speaking and assisted greatly in what we did. The highlight of each couple of days was the drive up to "Hot Springs" where we got to clean off a bit. Thank you for letting me renew those days via your video. They were long and hard working experiences but I could only wish that my sons had the same experiences.
I went to Ojinaga MX which is next to texas and presidio and also my dad was born there but when we where coming back we were before the check of Marfa TX when 2 vehicles got in a car accident one was a white dodge dually pick up and the other seemed to look like a old jeep Cherokee that was silver and one person was reported dead.
It's lovely. We have a 60 acre ranch and some farm land so we have quite a bit of work. We also have a Trucking business there (Bullet Transport Svc. Inc.) Hows it like in Michigan?
Joseph Giesbrecht man it's to crowded, so many people,i live close to detroit so it's even busier with that. But souther michigan does have some feilds and peacefulness lol.
If I am correct, the highest mile marker is mile marker 994 on US Hwy. 67 in Presidio (going north by the intersection of Howard St.) , that is the highest mile marker in the United States. On the interstate system it's 880 on I-10 in Orange, Texas. US 67 when joined by US 90 in Marfa going east uses US 67's mile markers counting down from mile 934.
lucky for me the BP did not stop me for pulling over at the sign to take a picture as I was perilously close from the port of entry, within only throwing distance. By the way , at 1:48, you will see the border patrol checkpoint (mm 938.5) only 4 1/2 miles south of Marfa/US 90. I was detained there for 10-12 minutes. What? is it wrong to drive to random places and take pictures of road signs? that is like art to me.
Marfa is one of the coolest places in America. The terrain, the architecture, the way it’s absolutely beautiful and desolate.... amazing place!

For me a drive down memory lane... but I muted the music.
Nice video. Kind of flat south of Marfa until you get to Shafter. Still like the scenery though.
Excelente Video.
No se ve check point !!!
US 67 is 766 miles. It starts from Texarkana and ends at Presidio.
No it doesnt
67 starts in Iowa and ends in Presidio
And then the highway continues into Mexico as Chihuahua State Route 67 ending at CHiH 69 near Camargo.
I live in Presidio, TX just past the Riata Inn at Bullet Transport.
what's it like down there? (I'm from south east michigan so I'm sure it's different.)

+Joseph Giesbrecht when I'm older I think I'd like to move down there
Looks like a great road to ride a bike on
Is that the stretch of the highway where Lincoln's Profile is, or is it north of Marfa?

I also used Google Earth to follow the railroad from the border northward.
Why the railroad had been going into Mexico is an interesting story.
I WAS RIGHT! (994) the highest mile marker on a federal (US) highway, so much for mile marker 880 on I-10 Orange, Texas. went to Presidio, 10-8-2011.
