There are many talks about Trent"s incapabilities, BUT I see it as a KROOS type. Completing both long and Short passes that can help in attacks and moving the opposition throughout the field. If we focus more on what he cannot do, then what about what he does perfectly?. Southgate should consider what Germany and Real Madrid are doing with Toni Kroos..
Toni Kroos is a world class deep lying playmaker and Trent isn't and never will be. He's good at passing the ball but he doesn't have the in game nous or tactical ability to ever be on the level of someone like Kroos or he'd have played that position at some point before now.

Southgate has evolved over the tournaments to be fair to him. Harry Kane took the worst penalty of his career against France, so I have to let Southgate off the hook for that loss. He brought Mason Mount on and he was a live wire who changed the tide to get that penalty. The Croatian semi final defeat was annoying, but Croatia’s team has played together for years, whereas England had been car crash for many years, so the know how was with the Mediterraneans. The Italy defeat at Wembley was the worst by a country mile; Southgate did nothing Mancini tinkered to take control of the midfield. Also preparation was clearly poor, since the players all at sea. It was a disaster.

Thousands of hours have been used to cover England and predictions about us doing well. We all know what is going to happen. The second we come up against a good team we’ll get beat. Our front 6 barring the left sided winger get into any other team in the world as starters yet we will be slow, sideways, and average about 2 shots per game. I don't get everyone's inflated analysis of England. France are favourites. Players such as Gordon, Palmer, Watkins, Eze, Bowen are all on Par with say a Kingsley Coman. Only Palmer is a ? and could be a lot better so he can provide an edge. Then you take into account France have a really solid back 5 and a striker up front in Mbappe that is the only player in the tournament that can consistently change a game on his own (kane can't do that) and a comparable if slightly inferior midfield.
I would say England are 2nd favourites and there is no shame in that. But favourites until proven is dreamland. They can win and I fervently hope they do. But they have a fair bit to prove in the tournament.

Sorry Southgate is average at best and poor decision making, actually very slow decision making. I admit I am a Chelsea supporter but I believe our main hope is Cole Palmer (which Man City created and made a big mistake letting him go). Not just because of his skill and confidence because the opposition have not played against him and makes him very difficult to judge and thus stop. Bellingham has a habit of playing like "Roy of the Rovers" and does not play as a team player. Kane is a bit off in form to me still good but not tip top. Foden is a very good player but we have to have good players around him. Not convinced the rest of the players including Gallagher are good enough. It appears Graham seems to agree. If James and Chilwell were not injured and selected I would given us a chance. However I feel we will struggle to get out of the group and have no chance of winning.

Im sure these pundits just think teams are going to rollover and just let England walk all over them. In my opinion its one of the most wide open tournaments ive seen for a long time. I can definitely see a few dark horse teams doing well.

Exactly what I'm worried about. I'm tired of hoping for an attacking masterclass then watching our defenders pass to each other unnecessarily over and over again till I'm half asleep on the couch. Thousands of hours have been used to cover England and predictions about us doing well. We all know what is going to happen. The second we come up against a good team we’ll get beat. And even if we manage to fluke one win against a contender we’ll end up losing the next. Southgate hasn’t got a clue and shouldn’t be anywhere near this group of players. Our front 6 barring the left sided winger get into any other team in the world as starters yet we will be slow, sideways, and average about 2 shots per game. Silver lining is hopefully once we go out, Southgate is gone.

Germany team is very underrated, they have a great generation of African players coming through and they will dominate international football in a couple of years. England’s defence is just too poor and the manager is too average.

Playing well and winning, playing not so well but winning, struggling and playing badly but still winning, being lucky on a regular basis and therefore making a skill out of it, enforcing luck, that's what makes a team a favourite. I don't get everyone's inflated analysis of England. France are favourites. Players such as Gordon, Palmer, Watkins, Eze, Bowen are all on Par with say a Kingsley Coman. Only Palmer is a ? and could be a lot better so he can provide an edge.
Then you take into account France have a really solid back 5 and a striker up front in Mbappe that is the only player in the tournament that can consistently change a game on his own (kane can't do that) and a comparable if slightly inferior midfield.
I would say England are 2nd favourites and there is no shame in that. But favourites until proven is dreamland. They can win and I fervently hope they do. But they have a fair bit to prove in the tournament.

Sorry Southgate is average at best and poor decision making, actually very slow decision making. I admit I am a Chelsea supporter but I believe our main hope is Cole Palmer (which Man City created and made a big mistake letting him go). Not just because of his skill and confidence because the opposition have not played against him and makes him very difficult to judge and thus stop. Bellingham has a habit of playing like "Roy of the Rovers" and does not play as a team player. Kane is a bit off in form to me still good but not tip top. Foden is a very good player but we have to have good players around him. Not convinced the rest of the players including Gallagher are good enough. It appears Graham seems to agree. If James and Chilwell were not injured and selected I would given us a chance. However I feel we will struggle to get out of the group and have no chance of winning.
