  • I've had a slight clunking noise in the front end of my Porsche 911 for a little while now and I've noticed that it was getting worse. This issue could be caused by a few different components but in my case, it was worn tie rods. I show how to identify the proper tie rod kit and replacement method in this video.

Thanks for such a detailed explanation of the original symptom as well as the repair. I'm having this very same symptom on my '01 911.

For future reference, I would highly recommend leaving the nut on the stud when using a ball joint removal tool like you used, especially if you want to keep the part. Those hollow ended studs with the torx hole in them can mushroom under the stress if the joint is frozen. Ask me how I know! LOL!

What crimping tool would you get if you had to do it again since those were too short and hate to navigate? Thanks
