    Great explanation. I have been knitting for years but learned a few tips from you. Also if you Mark one needle with a rubber band or something similar, desígnate that needle as the knit row, you can tell which row you are on by looking at the needle not in use. Thank you.

    I used this pattern to knit a cowl for my sister's dog in a beautiful deep red colour. It's beautiful. I cast on using 45 stitches, knitting it 16" long. I stitched it with a flat stitch as the thick hem would bother her. She absolutely loves it! 🐕🐾💕

    My husband once mentioned he really wanted to get a snood/infinity scarf, so I bought the items you suggested at the beginning of the tutorial and followed your instructions, including the blocking so I could make him one for Christmas (even attaching a little silver corgi pendant with the name of his much loved, but dearly departed dog engraved on the back to the scarf). The scarf turned out great! It's still drying after blocking and I haven't given it to him yet, but so far it looks fantastic. Next time though, I think I will try a different wool than the one recommended for this project as the wool kept breaking. I hadn't pulled too hard or overworked the wool, and perhaps it was just the particular batch I got, but it was so wispy and frayed apart with the slighted tension and made my project a little more challenging than I would have liked, especially for a first time knitter. In any case, loved the tutorial! Great instructions and advice and I love how you time stamped each important segment so we could go back and re-look at things. Will definitely be following more of your project tutorials!

    Accually it is quite easy to establish which side of the knitted fabric you look at. Just look at the tail at the end of the cast-on row. If it is on the right side it is odd row (right side of the fabric). If it is on the left side it is the even row (wrong side of the fabric).

    I love this scarf (and this tutorial!) I keep ending up with too many stitches though and I'm not sure why. Like suddenly I have 22 or 23 instead of 21. I try to follow your movements exactly so I don't know where I'm going wrong. Any ideas?

    • @sarahmae9372
      @sarahmae9372 5 лет назад +4

      Gangaji The same thing happened to me, thankfully pretty early on in the scarf so I just started over. I think it happened when I was doing a purl stitch, I forgot to slide the rest of the yarn off the left side after purling. Just be sure to keep a close eye while you’re working. I occasionally stop and count the number of stitches I have if I feel like I may have messed up.

      I did this when I first started knitting. Make sure the working yarn is behind your work. When you grab the first stitch make sure you are grabbing the yarn that is on the needle and not the loop. It helps me to tug on the working yarn so it’s obvious which one is on the needle. I hope this helps.

    • @sheepandstitch

      Haha, I like that you have the whole "set" that's great! I'm working on a fingerless mittens tutorial and a sock tutorial after that. I've gotten a ton of request for a chunky hat knit flat, so that's first on the docket. Then, the mitts and then the socks. Thanks so much for watching!

    Thanks so much for all of your knitting videos. They are the best on RUclips! Questions - is this stitch also known as the brioche stitch? Also if you don’t want to make it an infinity scarf do you have any suggestions for finishing the ends?
