- Despite a few disappointing presentation issues. WRC 8 is an otherwise solid outing for the franchise. Improvements to car handling and physics set WRC 8 well above its predecessor, and the new career mode is a hugely appreciated addition for anyone looking to get the most out of a simulation racer.

You are repeating the same few clips over and over. There are barely two minutes of unique footage in this six minute video. Kinda devaluates the review...
It's hard to trust a reviewer who always use the chase camera.

@Subi_fan I mean, these games are simulators. A lot of people who play them are looking for something as close to a realistic as possible.
When you exclusivly play with chase cam, you miss a lot of stuff that would otherwise break immersion or inform the player of how the car is handling.
What does helmet cam look like?
How do the lighting effects like glare change visibility?
How does car damage effect the view?
How do the windshield wipers and headlights work?
What sort of audio feedback happens inside the car?
These are all questions I have from any racing sim review. Just think it would be cool to include them, that's all.
@Subi_fan you could be right, I might be overestimating how many people try to treat these game like a sim.
I would disagree though about the amount of content on RUclips for WRC8 sim fans. I see a lot of great stuff for the Dirt series, but not so much WRC. :/
prob because of the reviews for WRC7 were not great and Dirt Rally 2 is only just now starting finish its leangthy DLC run.

I think the environments in this game look twice as good as DR2. The stages seem much more diverse and like there is more going on like trees blowing in the wind, more realistic trees and textures.
To this date WRC 8 is my go to rally game. I have tried WRC 9, 10 and Dirt Rally 2.0 They cannot compare to this masterpiece they almost perfected rally racing in this game.
Interesting. What did you think of 9 and 10? I have 8 already, which I really liked a lot but haven't put enough time on it. Was considering checking out 9 due to some of the new tracks but the sound design really seemed bad from the gameplay I've seen.
@@jf_valdivieso When I tried 9 it was a complete downgrade the first real race you get something will feel different like 9 became more arcadey. 8 got it between sim and arcade which i like.. 10 plays like 9 with minor graphical upgrades.. and dirt rally isn't for me it's way to simmy and for me that wants a balance of both i didn't get enjoyment off it. I still only have 8 installed when i need to play may rally urges.
@@jf_valdivieso also with 9 and 10 the terrain looks downgraded 8 got the colors of the trees correctly.
@@WWE2KUNIVERSEELITE Ahh, good to know. I think I'll just keep my copy of 8 then. It was pretty fun and, like you said, was a good balance between arcade and sim. I always prefered the look of the WRC games over Dirt Rally 2. Heck even the first Dirt Rally, to me looked better than the foggy godray mess of Dirt Rally 2.

Never played a WRC game, but even on medium difficulty it's pretty brutal. You can't predrive stages, you can restart a stage race but I would like a predrive like they have at real rallys
So how does the driving feel? No mention at all of steering wheels. Fail review......
I just bought this game 2 weeks ago on a discount. Im new to rally games and i cant even drive properly but i got to say that everyone should own this game bro ,im playing on a ps4 slim and i dont have any issue runs smooth like butter ,graphics is perfect and that 30fps feels good .

Did they fix terrible stuttering issue that was present in WRC 7 on PC?
Never had stuttering on WRC7. It runs like butter on my 144hz monitor and it mantains 60fps even at 4k. Upgrade your PC.
WRC 8 runs smooth
@@fastica The fact that it works properly for you doesn't mean that there's no issue. Just look at Steam forums for WRC7, a lot of people have issues with stuttering. Btw I have Ryzen 2600 and GTX 1080, that should be plenty for that game.

Is this more of an arcade game or a simulation? If it's like DiRT 4 I'll give it a go, but if it's like DiRT Rally 2.0 then it won't be for me, that game had me ready to smash my controller.
This is cheap on Steam at the moment so came looking for a review. Didn't find one here so I'll keep looking.

@@ashleycullen.933 Because I don't agree with exclusivity locks in an open platform like PC. It sets a bad precedent. Only way I agree with it if it's the company's own game that has the exclusivity.

Yeah good review. You kept it short and to the point. Im glad I bought Dirt Rally 2.0 now....its an amazing game with the best visuals ive really ever seen!

So I was right, in Australia it's digital only at this stage, there is no physical copy, I wondered why I couldn't pre-order it
the grading of the car versus the environment was a bit off. road details are not so good.

Too much management in this game....but still agood game. Now free on Xbox Live in July. (I got it free on 30th June early and before any comments I am in the UK which is a minimum 5 hours ahead than the US)
Good review, seems like they got real close to a great game here. Shame about the damage modeling and overall visuals. If they get both of those right in the next one I will definitely check it out.

To sum it up I would say the developers made their own take on Dirt Rally and added the WRC licence. A pity as not everyone wants ultra realistic handling and tight narrow roads and slow simulation gameplay. They should embrace a more Arcade like experience with the licence.

I love WRC 7 but this looks cartoonish in some cars and stages especifically the cars
Don’t buy it for PS5. I just bought it for ps5 and graphics are blown out. Shadows are pitch black and trees look blue.

Mrpineapples I know I’m hella late but just wanted to say that I, as a Dirt Fan, think that WRC8 is honestly the more fun game. Plus tarmac physics are miles better

The tracks/stages are always better in WRC though.
@@elliottapfel3609 are they? sure, there are probably less unique km of road in DR2, but they are exact replicas of real-life stages. WRC is cutting and pasting sections into their stages.
the cars though? WRC has the current WRC cars, R5 and R2. and that's it.
Dirt has basically everything (including R5 and R2) except for the WRC cars. plus they all handle waaaay better because of the physics.
@@iansteelmatheson ive put about 150/200 hours into Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, V Rally 4, and WRC... Bro the stages are WAY more diverse in WRC. Also you habe special stages which are amazing.. I love Dirt Rally but for the courses WRC7 won it for me last year im sure WRC8 is even better... Try WRC7 it should be cheep by now.
And as far as phisics.. To each there own... I felt both Dirt Rally and WRC7 were spot on
