The portrayal of the Kenyan stuff is spot-on. The flamingo area has to be at the outskirts of a town called Nakuru. And I think WRC has been one of the most authentic games ever. Really loved that it made the Kenyan Countryside terrain authentic, and I'll be buying it. (We call the dirt roads murram roads in Kenya-- it's weird that no one calls them that anywhere else in the world, and it kind of actually shocked me).

Bought this on store at half price.. looka amazing on ps5. Physics are definitely an improvement in wrc 8, I fell they should have done more with the career mode though.. I think customisation would be nice, in terms of liveries,colours and driver. Training events could be better too, make them abit more fun and worth while doing. Think you should have the option to stay on current contract at end of championship too, sometimes the offers you get at the end I don't want to use them cars.
RUclips compresses videos which makes them look worse. Also IGN’s video quality seems bad compared to some of the other channels like ACG. Maybe they have an issue with their video capture equipment.
2:35 Is that the best crashes get? That's the only crash shown! I want to know if there's an extreme damage model with wheels and panels flying off and if the whole crash is shown, or if the car just gets reset to the track before the crash finishes! I hated the more recent games removing crashes and resetting you to the track if you went too far off course, even by a small recoverable amount!
Bout this yesterday on the ps store for the ps5 in the uk, its on sale at min at £24.99 and this time in my opinion it's far better than dirt 5. Highly recommended especially at that price

I love the game but it still has some bugs. I play it on PS4 Pro. Often times the engine sound starts fading and about 10 seconds later the game just crashes. I have a friend who plays it on Xbox One X and he says that the exact same thing has happened to him. Other than that the game is really cool. The surfaces on all tracks have been reworked, and cars handle way better than in WRC 8, that’s where you notice the improvement.
Who else’s noticed that whenever a racing or rally game needs to be reviewed, IGN gets their British or Australian employees to give us reviews on them and not their American ones. Adds a funny authentic flavor to it, I don’t know if it’s just me that’s picked this up.
Prolly cause the americans consider a rally to be a protest, not a motorsport. And if they know it is a motorsport, have a Group B/A tinted view of it.
Would need a big improvement in handling from WRC 8 for me. It's like it was always handling like a tarmac car with no progressive breakaway. But it's got New Zealand! And the Safari Rally!
I found WRC 8 lacked car weight, like if you clipped the side of the road you might go spinning off into the air. They fixed that with 9, and your car feels nice and weighty.
After so many so-so versions of WRC, it’s almost too bad they gave away WRC 8 for “free” on XBOX games with gold a few months ago (guessing they wanted to show-off the new quality - which is finally worth it), it’s hard to justify spending money on WRC 9 for subtle updates.
A bonus objective not being done shouldn't penalize you.. it's a bonus objective 😆 If you complete it, you get a bonus. I've never gotten penalized for skipping extra credit in school or not making a company extra money to get a bonus check.
