- WRC 9 isn't a groundbreaking experience. It suffers from the same long standing UI issues that have plagued the franchise for ages. And from a technical perspective, it's far from perfect. The sound design in particular is a major culprit here. But the game delivers in spades where it truly matters. The actual racing in WRC 9 is top notch, rewarding skill and practice in a way that feels true to the sport without feeling punishing.
Ample content, meanwhile, ensures that you don't get bored while putting in those practice hours. If you're looking for a high skill, off-road racing simulation, WRC 9 is your game.

The gameplay in this is the most entertaining part of the review, all red sectors and at 4:14 he was already 17 seconds down in the very first split of a Short Stage. Brave man to put up this review.
The last WRC game I played was WRC rally evolved, from back in 2005! I still play it on my ps2, best game of the WRC series.

Hi, I have a big problem with my WRC 9 on Epic games. When I start it I have a "save error" after the intro movie. I'm pressing "OK" many times and it still doesn't work. I have the same problem with WRC 8. Does anybody know how to fix it?

Why is the cockpit cam darker than the chase cam? Its really hard to see.

the problem is the lack of grip loss from elevation changes. when the down hill grade increases you should slide if you try to turn. that's what dirt rally 2.0 nails, the crests. The driver in the video can't seems to tell the games physics are off and is being more cautious than he needs too.
I'm glad there is finally a solid competitor to DiRT. 4 and Rally 2.0 felt like Betas rushed out of the door. Hopefully this will force Codemasters to polish up their product a little more.
I will say, I'm a huge fan of Rally 2.0's track deformation, and I hope that feature becomes standard in all Rally sims. I want to see that feature flushed out and expanded on.

WRC8 came out on EGS last year, and I've been waiting for it to come to Steam. And now I see there's WRC9? I haven't heard a single thing about it! Oh well.
This review and this channel is really a joke. You spent more time ranting on the interface and the audio instead of the more important things that needs to be tackled for a sim racing game.

Definitely not a “sim” considering the physics are very arcade. The car is way too light. My $10,000 daily driver handles better than these cars.

What amuses me the most is that many who review rally games do not even use cameras from the cockpit or the hood of the car. I ride with a limited HUD with no arrows and no progress bar which gives you more focus on listening to the pilot and better concentration on the road. But that's the way it is, everyone who reviews this game is a licensed rally teacher and knows best what it is like in real life 🤔😄😅😅😅.

I don't usually criticise reviews but "cars all handle different". Wow. Did you expect that all cars and all terrains would feel the same? There are several covers on the same line as well as repetition of statements. Are you the right reviewer for these type of games?

This is the first game that can truly compete against the Dirt series in ages
At first release, I didn't liked it because of the car behavior not realistic. The sound also wasn't good. I think they made an update (PC) cause now the game is AMAZING !
I like sim games like Richard Burns Rally and Rally 1 (from Codemasters). You can real feel a great difference, the weight of the car, the inertia. Add to that a better sound in the habitacle, we can hear a huge difference. CUDOS to Kylotonn, french guys, you did a great job compared to the previous version. I think WRC 8 should have been this one. I was very happy when a heard Codemasters taking the licence. Now I'm sceptic, when you see Dirt Rally 2 and DIRT5, it's more arcadish. They are talented for the visual and the sound but I prefer the gameplay of this WRC 9.

Race games without splitscreen are already a big no for me.
Love the graphics on WRC 9 and when new consoles come gonna be even much nicer on graphics and sorry PC3 your game sucks no tire change or fuel that not racing it's a cheating racing way.

Honestly having played WRC 7...I didn't expect WRC 9 to be great either!
Okay I'm gonna interrupt you there a bit: @2:29 where the car is driving at night, the dirt road reflection is so intense you can see the tree through it, when it rains on a dirt road does it ever reflect so bad that you see the reflection of an entire tree on the road? (remember, it's a dirt road, not asphalt, even if it was asphalt it wouldn't reflect that strongly).
The reflections and HDR effects in games is just ridiculously overdone these days, if you look at Dirt Rally 2.0 this is done a lot better, still the reflections on the car are a bit too much I must say but far better than this). It looks ugly.
Oh my gosh. Why would this studio make a person who can't drive review a rally sim? No one gains any information from this video. Bruh he's trying his best but damn why did they do this guy so dirty. He doesn't even know how to shift gears gosh dammit

It's a fully feature rich title. Buy it now it's really cheap blows Sebastian loeb rally out of the water. On series x this game is awesome although the exterior view on the cars is a little off

If I made this video I would take it down, just because if the shame I would have from my shitty driving. You're driving in 3rd person and probably not using a wheel. Just go play Mario Kart.

Glad to see this. Almost all the other reviews drive like mad and I can only think that this game is only for pro-drivers. Maybe this game can also be fun for a person like me or maybe not? But right now I think I can, in fact, play this game and love it.

Not gonna lie, as soon as I noticed you're playing with a controller, no handbrake nor any drifting, I just completely ignored the rest of the review.

Drive using an in-car view, ffs. Exterior views are for kids, but there again I guess it compliments your snail pace driving.

If you wanna be a better reviewer, here's some tips:
Talk more about the gameplay than other stuff like interface, load times and soundtrack. In a sim racing game these things are waaaay less important
Watch some driving tutorials. You don't have to be Richard Burns level of driving, but people will validate your opinion more. Viperconcept does excellent tutorials on youtube I suggest you can go check him out.
Play with BOTH wheel and controller. In a sim game, many more people play with a wheel than say, Forza or Shift. Don't remove controller though because you'll attract both audiences.
If you can, go to a rally school. You'll understand a lot better how a car handles in high speed situations on gravel. Please DON'T do this on public roads though...
Finally, change the tone of voice more often, and add stuff that would make your review more EXITING. Don't go OTT like it's DiRT 3 or something, but if you do this then it will look way more polished and look like you put a lot more effort in. Plus, if your passionate about this, this one should be really easy.

dirt rally 1 looks way better than this and i'm also sure that it is way more realistic ! Also it would be nice if the reviewer could actually drive the cars the way they were meant to be driven... on the edge of control and not going up to 3rd gear and then letting off the gass... also USE MANUAL GEAR CHANGE WHEN YOU PLAY A SIMULATION !!!!
Do take in account that Dirt Rally likely had a bigger budget than the team that made these games.

I have played over 1000 hours of fantastic stunt/take down racing and not paid a penny! At the moment it is on console switch only, but it's going to take top position eventually!!! NB. WRC is promoted by (IMO) people that actually would rob you as soon as look at you! (IMO,) do not trust this nest of theives!

Uhm, not sure, but maybe he was driving slow because he did not know the track, so he might of been try to learn it, maybe, after all, not everyone can sit in their mommies basement all day playing video games, just saying
You don't need to learn the track. You go into it blind and the co-driver tells you what turns are coming up. There is no way he should be driving this slow. He's reviewing a rally game and barely getting out of 3rd gear.
