- With the recent attack on Moscow, I received some requests to do a breakdown on the geopolitics of ISIS. First things first, there are two largely unaffiliated groups at play here - ISIS-Khorasan and the more widely known, ISIS.

#terrorism #isis #isiskhorasan
Worth to mention, Crocus City Hall in Moscow where terror attack took place is owned by a billionaire of Azerbaijani descent. Azerbaijanis are Shia
To think that these terrorists thought 'two birds one stone' while choosing their target and rejoiced at their 'efficiency' is sickening

Whoever asked for this video made a great suggestion. Thanks for doing it peter.
A little bit of history is always nice. It mMakes one wonder how to suggest a topic....
Talking about "Isis of Corusant" wearing a white jumpsuit on planet Hoth, has a very Empire Strikes Back vibe, expected him to get in a blaster fight with some droids.
Hi Peter, if possible, it would be great to hear a video on the current situation within Myanmar - obviously this has been a situation that has been going on some time but a sitrep on the current state of play given the recent flare-ups in conflict would be welcome. Also, a sitrep on the current situation within Armenia would be welcome, it seems that there is a lot going on behind the scenes with US-EU diplomacy with Armenia and the distancing of the country away from RU and the CSTO. Thanks - keep up the good work!
same, i would like to know my fellow asean member as to how it is doing and what turmoil it is facing, and of course how and why it all begun if possible
Sitrep = situation report...sounds military
If you're interested in a military-centric overview of the situation in Myanmar, might I reccomend the channel HistoryLegends? he recently did an excellent 50-minute long overview of the current situation. TL;DW: Its going to be a very long war, with no clear or obvious winner in sight.

Bro, are you about to reveal Superman’s Fortress of Solitude next?
Before that, he's gonna explore the ruins of Gondolin.
@justin ....THAT takes it!
The FoS is up in the Arctic. Peter lives in Colorado. Read a map, bro. 🤣
Hah hah! I can just see it... "Hey everybody. Peter Zeihan here coming to you from the REALLY frigid Fortress of Solitude..."
Superman (looks up startled): "Excuse you!?"
Thank you for the early video posts. I look forward to watching you before work
The disclaimer was priceless.
“If your city is half a mile wide and 20 miles long…” you described the Saudi line project lmao
And most of Ancient Egypt too. No wonder they split into north and south.
And a lot of cities built by the soviet union
Bos-NYC-Philly-Balti-DC Megalopolis has entered the chat.
Dear Mr Zeihan, thank you for your posts. I'm such a fan.
Eye opener of a short vid! Thx!
Thank you for raising awareness of how things are connected.
Winter wonderland doesn’t do that background shot justice of describing just how serene it looks. Something out of a Tchaikovsky performance.
Come to Colorado - to reflect on Dr. Zhivago (I can see one of Peter's hiking trails from my office)
this is what comes from living indoors on screens. its a field of snow, and you are literally comparing it to art. you could see this any day of any week anywhere that it snows.
He’s on Hoth
@@IDontBuyIt50bro it’s April there’s not much snow these days in most of the US
Tchaikovsky came from a Ukrainian family named Tchaikivsky.
Yet... Love Peter's optimism...
Great video, sir!
Useful analysis, gratitude. Thanks for that last bit 😂
That thumbnail got me …
Finish that sentence or I'll just assume you meant to say "that thumbnail got me ... aroused".
Interesting insight kind sir.
Hey folks. This is Peter’s genuine channel. All others are stealing his material.
This was pretty interesting
lol peter your face was getting redder and colder by the second at the start of the video-- it made me smile. best wishes.
hey peter, thanks for your vids,
any chance of your take on the future of crimrea after the dam was blown and the water canal no longer feeds it?
Excellent analysis. You're the big kahuna in the world of intrigue.
That "yet" at the end
Thanks!
This is probably the most complex topic Peter has ever discussed on here. It's so fluid and hidden.
Amazing that in the day of the satellite phone, all electronic cars, commercial space transportation and AI we are still dealing with a 14th century mentality.
History rhymes
What? The Roman Catholic Church? The Kremlin? :D
14 century is still relatively recent for human history, it will stay for another several century
@@DieFlabbergastDon't think you know much about the Catholic church, or the Kremlin.
@@DieFlabbergastI’ll give you the Kremlin but it’s been a minute since the Catholic Church lead a violent campaign of terror.
Thank you Peter.
You're the best.
Look up privately? I didn't know what that meant, and then poof you were gone.
Cheers
Friends I suggest a phenomenal book (Secrets of sanatan dharma) by Author Sai Prasad panda ****
Thank you Peter fabulous as always
Fascinating!!!!
Love the bit of predictive programming at the end.
I found this very helpful in my understanding. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
The editing and the graphics are amazing as always on this channel!
Peter, looks there a bit like the Iceman Cometh. Thanks for the snippet info.
Great video once again. Would you consider giving your thoughts about if the euro zone will break up in the future, what conditions would make a break up happen, and what would happen to the small countries like Portugal (where i live). Thanks.
Interesting.
Please give us something on the Ecuador- Mexico Feud!
Did he say Isis Coruscant? 😮
Interesting
Wow thanks
Nice timing with the sunrise Peter. You had a very Jesusy feel about yourself toward the end of the video lol.
Was a timer going off? I could not figger out what the last sentences were
Nice thumbnail u get there peter
My neighbor who is a traditional ISIS commander tells me ISIS-K is awful and gives terrorism a bad name.
Peter, please show a map.
Mad max
Can you please speak on the Tigray war in Ethiopia? One of the worst wars of our generation and the fall out from that war in the region with Somalia and Eritrea.
Make a video on future of UAE and saudi and qatar
*please
@@ben079329please say please*
Your description of the Fertile Crescent sounds just like what MBS wants to build across Saudi Arabia
I keep thinking there's a small town called Fridge, Colorado and that's where Peter posts from.
Thoughts on Puerto Rico?
Make a video on Macedonia. Pozdrav.
I have a very simple method of making sense out of all this: Follow the Money. It looks religious, it looks political, it may even look philantropic, but to make sense of any war or conflict, just follow the money. It is harder to do than you think.
There's that bloody word again. YET!
Loved the quick correction at the end with the oops face 😂
Can’t scare the crap out of the audience then say, okay bye lol
The word terrorism has now emerged, but what term should we use for the persecution of Persians by the Arabs and the persecution of Buddhists in Central Asian countries because they refused to accept Islam?
Persecution of hindus in Indian subcontinent too (in medieval times)
No response yet to Ryan's video?
I am a little disappointed you didn't address the IS Africa affiliate groups. Are they that insignificant or not really that connected?
Love the mispronunciations, so 'mericun.
Ah ,food production stats in Alpo!
1:45 "the [habitable] zones [within the fertile crescent] that you can do something with are very skinny and very long...and difficult to patrol...preventing the establishment of large population centers" This never stopped the Egyptians. In Al Zawahiri's memoirs, he talked about how hard it was to run his insurgency in Egypt (The Egyptian Islamic Jihad, before his Al Qaeda days) because the geography of a narrow river valley in Egypt (much like Mesopotamia) favored strongmen rulers who only needed to secure a small geographical area to control the country. Why isn't it the same here? Wouldn't Iraq only need to control a small but around the Tigris & Euphrates to control the country?
Any thoughts on the Red Heifers? The economic consequences of a biblical armageddon?
the sun comes up in the bg of this video :)
Not sure if Im just watching for snowy Colorado at this point
Can Peter do a demographic and topography based analysis of Israel?
"Alpo... oh sorry, Allepo." Freudian slip there 😏
Where in Colorado?
We think it's the Morrison area.
WAIT! Heavy snow and no glasses. What about snow blindness, Peter?
How do Peter learn everything from the development of oil extraction in Siberia to the organisation of IS-Khorasan?
He has friends in high places
His company has twelve people but they have 1,500 people around the world and they touch base with each once a month. PZ says cable news lacks that so it's light on news and filled with opinion.
@@gregmoore66: spot on…yes he has access to a vast information gathering community that every major “news” network USED TO have. Many people do not fully appreciate the sad state of NEWS…it simply is not even a shadow of its former self. It’s just a gossip repeating, low quality and heavily manipulated, mostly entertainment money maker. No ethics, no actual intel and it’s masquerading as “ NEWS”.
You learn all of that in geography! People often confuse geography with maps, but geography teaches everything about the planet Earth.
We learned all of these things in school and highschool in geography. Peter doesn't say anything new. He just applies old principles to today's world.
Don't misunderstand me, geography is a very important area. I wished more people were taught geography as I was decades ago.
@@devalapar7878 I agree that most of this is within or tangential to geography, but there isn’t a geographer out there with the breadth and relative depth of knowledge of Peter’s
LoL the thumbnail
So you are telling me that ISIS Coruscant is not a Star Wars spin-off... while broadcasting from Hoth... looking suspiciously like a Jedi!
Why did the Krokos incident happen?
Mean while in Michigan.....
I mean khorasan is a literally ancient geopolitical region...
I learnt something new just then, so thank you for that. I suppose it is not an official bit of geography that this charming organisation are controlling.
Sure, on the long run they would want to be settled and control areas like it happened within Syria but now... they're not, at all.
The group is just borrowing the name, that's all.
Home of the Galactic Republic.
2:00 did a bit of lazy eyeballing it on Google Earth, it's only about 7 miles wide but 320 miles long, and in western Iraq, there's a portion of it that's barely half a mile wide and 120 miles long.
Last sentence I was not able to chatch and understand at all. Too high word and information density for me !! :-)
I think he says that US has stopped terrorism activities and that the ISIS Khorsan is not known to be active in the US as of now?
Lemme guess... Chatfield Reservoir?
What's with the funny faces on the opening? Does that give you more "hits"?
The city of Alpo. Peter, sometimes you crack me up.😝
Thanks
fun fact the fertile crescent used to be much wetter in ancient times
Your predictions on the future of China are of course dramatic and very important. Can you identify and explain key indicators that we should watch for that may indicate the decline is happening or about to happen in a a year or two? Thank you.
I'm planning to travel the Silk Road from (28 days) Xian - Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Iran (last one is a maybe). Would this now be too dangerous?
Since the collapse of the mongolian empire I'd say yes, it's too dangerous.
And let's not even get started on the problems of ISIS Coruscant.
They call it that because they're into Star Wars
Love your content Peter even if your sometimes the Jim Cramer of geopolitics
Remember the military coup against Error on ?
Standby, the boys are feeling their oats.
What's happening in red sea
Could you use a map to explain this ? It would be so much easier.
How many nukes went of out there?
Snow?
We used to have snow here to.
Haven't had a proper winter since 1996 or there about.
How come he doesn’t do any videos regarding the Gaza war?
Long skinny territory / city? Saudi Arabia … “hold my non alcoholic beverage”
I can't wait to see these plot points implemented for the next Disney villain!
I can already hear a cheering audience when I imagine a trailer: "Pixar Studios proudly presents: The Jihad!" They'll maybe have to use Kidz Bop version of "Dawlat al-Islam Qamat", and they'll need to make a few more changes from internal Standards and Practices to make it PG. This movie is gonna win an Oscar!
Coruscant? When did isis get into the Star Wars galaxy?
There are times when you can tell this’d be a lot easier for him if he had maps to point at…
