I think those of us who experienced the 80s feel heavy nostalgia because we can remember praying for the future to hurry and get here. Never realizing that we were actually in the best days ever...

Best music, best dancing, best clubs, best parties, best friends, best times together. Simpler times, we had so much hope! Everything and everyone is scary and difficult now, so angry. And everyone I loved is gone now too. I just want those days back. "I wanna go back and do it all over but I can't go back I know".

This song was never about going back to the 80s (mostly because it was the 80s when it was written); it’s about wanting to go back in your own life to a time when you felt your were happiest, maybe your childhood or teenage years when you didn’t have to worry about responsibilities or dealing with the real world, but you know that you can’t do that and you have to grow up and mature and be the best adult you can be. But I think when Eddie made this song, they were talking about the 50s or 60s. It's strange to think about.

The good old days. Why do we call them that? Because we don't realize we're in the good old days until they pass. We're in the good old days right now but we won't realize it until 10 or 20 more years pass again. I'm in my 40's and I wish I was in my 20's again but when I'm 60 I know I will wish I'm in my 40's again. "My 40's those were the good old days."

Having seen him in 1982 live in Hollywood, this song is what us 65 years old think. Go back and do it all over but we can not. We can only do our best to make our lives, our children]s lives, our friends lives, and strangers lives when it presents itself, the best that it can be. For me life is life and when it is over we just go on to the next chapter wherever that might be.

The 80's is the only decade that matters. It was the most magical, timeless, fun, decadent, time of the 20th century. You will never have another decade where the music, TV, movies, fashion was iconic.

The 80s was the best of times for each and everyone of us nice clothes plenty of fast food places video game arcades bowling alleys go-kart land drive-in movies the end of movies at the mall and hanging at the mall going to buy records tapes and CDs not to mention the Walkman home video game systems like Atari ColecoVision host of others and not to mention the arcades and the pretty girls as well so it would be nice to go back but we know we can't because that time in the 80s was the best of times for each and every single one of us something that I will always treasure and I will always will remember I didn't get the girls my dreams back then but that's cool because I'm about to get the girl that I have missed for 25 years and now we're about to reunite for the first time in 26 years this year so I do get to go back in a good way but I'm looking forward to moving forward but I have a soundtrack of music and movies to carry me through thanks Eddie Money God bless rest in peace
