Lyrics:
Kýrie, eléison
Kýrie, eléison
Kýrie
The wind blows hard against this mountainside
Across the sea into my soul
It reaches into where I cannot hide
Setting my feet upon the road
My heart is old, it holds my memories
My body burns a gem-like flame
Somewhere between the soul and soft machine
Is where I find myself again - Видеоклипы

Happy New Year 🎉 2024
@@nancyglem Happy New Year to you too Nancy. Hope you have a great 2O24. 😀 I will be playing this song tonight through my stereo.💯%
One of my favorite 80s 💎.
Still listening to this in 2024 🙌🏻
Always one of my favorite
Most people have no idea how great the 80’s were. It was an honor.
I'd be honored if some 80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, AGAINST ALL ODDS by Phil Collins, and PURPLE RAIN by Prince in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
If I had a choice to go back to the 8Os forever and stay there, I would take it in a heartbeat. It was by far the best decade of my life. At the time we thought it would last forever or even get better, but unfortunately we were wrong. It's now 2O24 and it's nowhere near as good as it was back in the 8Os. People actually spoke with each other. Nowadays everyone has their heads down in their phones missing out on the little things in life. Who else would love to permanently go back to the 8Os with me ?..Such better times back then and so many great, happy memories.
Agreed

The Greek words for 'Lord, have mercy' are 'Kyrie, eleison,' which means, 'Lord, soothe me, comfort me, take away my pain, show me your steadfast love.'

Who would have ever thought a popular rock song would repeat the prayer "Lord have mercy" over and over again?
One of the greatest songs of the 80’s ! For us Aussies of Greek background, this song celebrated our language on a world stage. Kyrie eleison is Greek for ‘Lord have mercy’ ! More importantly however the message of the song has given hope to many who struggled through dark times. Never get tired hearing this song ! Such an exciting decade to grow up in !!
Thank you for informing of that, I knew the meaning but always had thought it was Latin.
I completely agree it's one of the best 80s song..
glad you mentioned what it meant. I can see why it would be inspiring to many.
You mean one greatest songs of all time and that is an understatement..

This song gives me chills. Music was so good in the 80s man. I’m very fortunate to grow up in that era.

Heard this song when I was young in the '80's, already loved the song and the tune then but could not make out most of the words.
Now I think of it as one of the "Kyrie" pieces of music although it is not an actual church song.

I was a teenager in the 80s. I turned 21, 1989. It's had some of the best music.
Sadly, I misunderstood the lyrics to this song for a long time. I used to think they said, "Carry a lazer." I never understood it.
When I found out, I had that moment in time when all the lights suddenly came on and the "do I feel dumb" expression on my face.
It was great. Everyone looks back at rosey times and it is typically better, but as a teen in the 80s it was a special time. No mobiles, internet blah blah, just great music and messing about in the woods ;-)

The INTRO - they don't make music like this anymore. The 80's totally rocked.
Kyrie eleison means , Christ, have mercy. Or Lord have mercy. Down the road I must travel. Gives the song some real depth.

"Kyrie Eleison" is Greek for "Lord, have mercy." It is used as a prayer in both Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox services. Greek was the original language of the New Testament, which was later translated to Latin. This song is credited to lead singer Richard Page, keyboardist Steve George and lyricist John Lang.
The roots of "Kyrie Eleison" you say are not entirely accurate, not to be confused with anything Catholic or even its coptic tributaries, because they didn't happen until after the 3rd century AD, where is it is true it was a common expression amongst the churches in Asia Minor [that of course would include Greece and Turkey] it has a sad history rooted in the martyrdom of those early Church saints.
