Same. The album cover ironically looks eerily similar to a remodeled version of my childhood friend Boris’ grandfather’s handmade fort they kept in their backyard😎
I have found that I have started to prefer this newer music of theirs, of his. Like maybe the old music is for those old feelings, those old memories and this is for now. Its not better per se, but its amazing and it speaks to me, not the man or boy I was.

Does anyone else agree if this album had two classic artsy pumpkins music videos for Panopticon and The Celestials this would have had a lot more success in this day and age of music and the internet? I'm literally shocked this didn't become a massive hit album. I reckon maybe Billy lost a lot of his fans for being too outspoken and also the musical landscape in the mainstream has changed so much. But I'm surprised it' didn't find a new audience. if this album was released in the late 90s, or was released before zeitgeist it would have been more successful
I think its more the change in times and current musical trends.... And the major factor of his largest number of fans being unaware of the release.... due to family, work, and al the BS life has us dealing with, and prevents many from knowing, searching, or caring about their old music and love of it.... = ( Ive gone through periods like this myself, and I am a musician... Im SO DAMN glad I was doing whatever I needed to be doing to be aware of this album an Billy still writing and releasing music... But Im sure you are right too and he might have lost fans, but Id assume its a smaller number than those that are just lost in their lives and other commitments for their time, and focus.... ts kinda sad honestly... Life and what it entails for most....
Violet Rays is amazing as is this whole album. The Pumpkins are one of, if not the best alternative rock bands of all time, and one of the biggest influences of a music generation. Corgan is a musical and lyrical genius and continues to show it. This song sends quivers up my spine. Heading to Boston tonight to see them for the second time this year, and gajillionth time in my life. Can't wait, they never let me down.
Billy is a challenging artist. When Zwan came out, I remember thinking, "We went from Machina to this?" But I eventually saw the value of it. Same with the futureembrace. He makes you work but we're rewarded as music lovers. And this song gives me chills.
Billy is so comfortable with his faults, and his mistakes his true feelings come through and he does not care what you think, Thats why his music touches us. He is an inspiration and one of the true musician's still left! Thank You, Billy for reminding me why I write and play.
this whole album reminds me of when music was about more than just itunes singles. its a complete artistic vision, and im glad i got to listen to it. best rock album in a long time.
Baddist intro to a song ever!!!!! That synth sounds like something from another universe! So damn sexy!! Wicked song too... The whole album rulz! Just another great era by the pumpkins. Glad people are seeing it as a good album in the early days of release. Usually takes 5-10 years on previous albums for it to be recognized as a classic!!
My favorite from the moment I heard it on the album. The song I remembered on the first hearing. Can't stop listening. Great to see a new and successful album
glad to see a return to the old album format. i can press play and zone out for an hour or do the ironing or whatever. an album of songs give strength to each other by creating an overall feeling and give a soundtrack to remind you of that part of your life when you fell in love with it. when i listen to this album in a few years it will remind me of when i got my first dog used to play fetch with him in the garden in the summer of 2012. great days+great album=vivid memories
@@amaxamon i enjoy quite a lot of alt-rock and other rock music subgenres. Weezer, Radiohead, Nirvana, The Strokes, The White Stripes etc are some of my favorite bands. And now, ive listened to the SP albums, MCIS and Siamese Dream, and now checking this out and i think its pretty good :)
best song on this album by a mile. Only just got round to listening to this after a while away from the Pumpkins and i'm hooked again already. What a song that is, one of the strongest in a while from Corgan
It's good to see Billy's still in the game. Too bad he'll never again reach the heights of his 90's stardom, but this album compensates for all the crap he released after 2000 and restores my faith in him. I know it's not the Pumpkins I once loved, but let's face it, without the legendary name, nobody would care. And that would be a shame
Usually I get goose bumps from my favourite songs this sends me in to a heavy breathing eye ball well. Is it better than I of the radio? Only time will tell. Simply beautiful Billy keep it up.
I like this song its like the sound of the song and its mood allows me to be interested and tuned in to it, with different equally spanning sets of attention in various vivid directions and they all are enjoyable plus harmonious.
They play here in Chicago this Sunday at the All State Arena. Billy Corgan grew up in Woodridge, IL same neighborhood my childhood friend grew up in. Im proud of that boy..... I remember riding down the highway on the way to my bands first live performance..and randomly a pumpkins song came on and i remember thinking "this moment couldnt be more perfect" FUCK THE HATERS!!!! I'm 17 and Iv decided this is my favorite band a couple years ago. Although I wan there when they were making things like Mellon collie I still feel so connected to their music :)
I need to see you guys LIVE please, you are the last band of my top 3 bands that I haven't seen yet. Thank you for existing Smashing Pumpkins, you make the world a better place.
Yeah but it's not the real Smashing Pumpkins anymore. Marcy is a crackhead and James hasnt talked to Billy in 15 years. Idk what happened to Jimmy again,

it doesn't matter if they're sitting and not touring. If you saw his earlier interviews of 1993, he mentions that after Gish, he never anticipated nor did he count on touring rather that he'd find whatever path his music chooses. And even now that he is touring, he says it's almost dreadful; he mentioned it in a 2007 interview in "If All Goes Wrong". I've seen his interviews. I'm only replying to you because it kind of bothered me that you think I'm mindless even though you don't know who I am. This whole reply is almost pointless but as a human I have a right to speak my mind without hurting your feelings, nor you hurting my feelings. Man... I was feeling really down tonight with the stress of college, my non existing love life, and my friends.. This song made me smile and let me know I'm going to be alright.

Faithless moors
Pulling up your oars
From rivers I have crossed
In magic no heart's lost
And I'll leave with anyone this night
And I'll kiss anyone tonight
Am I the only one you see?
Raised from the path of revelry
Spells fall frail
Webs catching sail
In eternal eternities
Divine purpose catching free
And I'll leave with anyone this night
And I'll kiss anyone tonight
Am I the only one you see?
Seized from the wrath of revelry
Am I the only one you see?
Does love matter when loves the actor
For what you are after is me
Babe, don't leave me, please believe me
'Cause I'm so easy to know
Am I the only one you see?
Raised from the path of revelry
Am I the only one you see?
Tack!! Tårar flödar,, it hits home. som man säger on the fyll
Dude you totally got the words wrong. I sing the lyrics I sing :). You and Billy can shove it.
Beautiful poet
This is an ode to singleton desperation, isn’t it? Great song and record though
Best song off the album, its so atmospheric and beautiful how could you not love it.
true Pumkins Sound, no one else can match
I bet the Highlander favors the Pumpkins too. If he hasn't lost his head already.

I think this song deserves a proper video. It is one of their most beautiful ones. No question about that in my heart!
Jesus, this album dwarfs Zeitgeist. It's like comparing an aircraft carrier to a tugboat. Billy, you are a genius.
This song is a real stand-out on this album in my opinion.
What a great song.. So much substance.
Probably their best song since Machina
Last 30 seconds of this song are some of the most beautiful ive ever heard on any song, stunning
definitely
i'm actually freaking out about how good this is i can't handle it what
when it lead into the chorus my whole body shut down from shock. It's freaking awesome!

Both of them are masters at writing/creating the perfect melody.
I've always loved the Pumpkins, a true American band, with a deeply American spirit, independence, and sense of life. Beautiful!
I had carried/worn the "null sign" with me for so long; almost my entire life...I just can't live without SP music
Great song....I listen to this song over and over again
Znakomity album,po Corganie zawsze można spodziewac sie wiele ciekawych brzmień.Pozdro dla fanów SP :)

Hi I recommend a song called 'The Bond villain' by Robert Nix
My favorite from the moment I heard it on the album. The song I remembered on the first hearing. Can't stop listening. Great to see a new and successful album
One of my favorite songs from this album. William is a genius. ;)
Sort of reminds me of Radiohead's Arpeggi/Weird Fishes.
One of the best from Oceania, for sure.

Pumpkins fan for only 10 years, but still I am always impressed Billy just keeps topping himself
This album seems to divide opinion amongst fans i think it is beautiful
You only think that it’s beautiful because.....it is. 🙂

I absolutely love this song!
I can hear Rush influences on this one ahahah Nice one by the way

8 Years later and Rush still sucks in comparison.

This is definitely my favourite song of this album. So artistically beautiful... Billy Corgan always impresses me :)
The drums were actually recorded first without cymbals, and then the cymbals were recorded after the fact. An interesting fact of this album.
What's the reason for that?
Billy and Jimmy fucking crushing it. I’ve been a pumpkins fan since ‘93 (I was born in ‘84). This is my fav album.
Such an under rated album. So many great tunes
great cd worth every penny, big fan since adore
My all time favorite SP album by far!
saw them live last August in Manila and when they performed this song, it was nothing but AWESOME!;D
