WaifuRacer V8 vs turbo hybrid is not the fucking problem though. I watch on TV and idgaf about engine noise. The racing was fantastic 20 years ago. The cars were so different from each other but still were competitive because they weren’t clinically conceived. They need to infuse some aspects of spec racing. F1 is supposed to be all about innovation, but all the real exciting innovation has already happened. Now it’s just diminishing returns, little gains for big dollars and boring nerd fests. Make it cheaper for new manufactures to enter (Toyota, BMW, Ford) and include some spec aspects and it will be very interesting.
Legend of James May saying..... ... "CCCooouuulldddtttthhharrrrdddd".... Love how David C wrecked 1/2 the field at Spa 1998 and then took Schumie out in style later. Great that Damon Hill and Jordan won that day.
I was 18 when that happened. My dad and I (huge F1 back then) were watching it, as Spa-Francorchamps was always one of out favourite tracks. The carnage was completely MENTAL that day! When the race ended, my dad said something like, "Holy S--T....what the hell did we just watch?!?!"
unlucky you =(.....for me the 1998 season was the first full season I watched, before that I hadnt paid much attention...for me as a Finn it was the perfect time to start following the sport as Mika Hakkinen n finally had a car that was able to fight for (and win) the championship. And I have been following the sport ever since.
Althought Red Bull might have dominated, I still think some of the years were amazing. Just think of 2010 or 2012, where the final race still was a decider in who'd take the championship. Alonso came very close those two years. Not just that, there were many, many more random drivers who won races. Think of Kimi, or Rosberg back when Mercedes were OP, hell, Maldonado even won a race back in 2012. The real boring years are now. Absolute snoozefest.
Harry Verolme yea, these times when Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel could fight for the wins were great, but compared to the Snna's years, and with today's domination of Mercedes, it's pretty boring to watch most of the time
1:25 : remember Macau 1990 (eventhough it was street dry track), Schumi did brake test Mika then. But here that was insanely dangerous. Safer to take Coulthard at the Source corner than bus stop.
Coulthard was going slow on a predictable line so Schumi could overtake. He was even kicking up tons of spray. Then Schumi rams him and has the audacity to blame DC.
@@davids3539 I'm Belgian and familiar with Spa conditions: water sprays on the track. Some places are like rivers as other parts are dry (remember 95). Bus stop at this time was peculiar as it was hazardous to take it with 0 visibility. Even though he was a rainmeister, Schumi missed some cold blood to finish an overlapping. Wish he'd face Verstappen Jr
I remember seeing that crash live. it was randomly at a friends house. His dad was watching Formula 1 and told us how cool it was. loved that race
Foi o dia mais feliz dele, sem dúvida alguma.
That was your the happiest day, for certain.
These was F1.
+lebidule RIP? Is there no longer a F1 series?
+Pablo xeneize Yep. RIP F1. Those were the times.
+lebidule F1 today is dull, but not because the DRS, tires or engine regulations, but because it lacks character and is sterile... drivers can't drive like they want and they can't speak as they want, tracks are made with forced unnecessary safety measures, and they are forcing the sport towards the elite that sits in lounges and drinks champagne
F1 has always been about money and politics since the 70's, but this is the most politics and money it can get
+Pablo xeneize this was an incident. It was far better before this.
2016 has been the best season in years, though.
So I just got into F1 heavily after Drive to Survive on Netflix and love learning iconic races. This is mind blowing!
0:08 Michael, forever in my red heart
F1 20 years ago > F1 today
Yes F1 today vs 20 years its not even in the same dimension, the difference is massive in so many ways
I just wish they went back to the old V10s and V8s. These new V6s sound so boring :/
@@waifuracer6516 theyre faster tho
Look at these beautiful cars, even the color schemes absolutely gorgeous!
Eddie Jordan must have been the happiest man in F1 of all time, when they finally scored first victory for the team, and it was 1-2 as well!
My first ever F1 race. I've been hooked ever since
Legend of James May saying.....
Those were the days. I remember watching this race live in utter disbelief. I was a Häkkinen fan, so i kinda enjoyed the Schumacher incident.
Hakkinen owed a lot to Coulthard at 1998... ;)
4 points from Australia, 10 points from Spa '98
Good job from Coulthard.
Thats like every online race ever
@TNE Sitra me too

Most exciting F1 video I've watched.
0:30 Ricardo Rosett plowing into the wreck that is almost halfway over makes me lose brain cells every time

I agree but what else was he supposed to do?

Start The 2021 Race I Miss Old F1 Soo Much Man :/
When you weren't born at these awesome times, but first watched Formula 1 when Vettel was dominating with Red Bull :'(
unlucky you =(.....for me the 1998 season was the first full season I watched, before that I hadnt paid much attention...for me as a Finn it was the perfect time to start following the sport as Mika Hakkinen n finally had a car that was able to fight for (and win) the championship.
Harry Verolme yea, these times when Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel could fight for the wins were great, but compared to the Snna's years, and with today's domination of Mercedes, it's pretty boring to watch most of the time
Malik Ouirzane definitely, all i'm saying though, is that these past three years have been especially boring. Even more so than Vettel's era.
Yup
I remember this sunday like it le yesterday.
Love from Belgium !
This is like the first corner in online F1 games.
this was awesome - miss this time
today the safetycar comes when it rains a little bit
No chance for a start with rain in actual F1...
+Bungle2010 actual means today
+Samyr Khan I can remember several wet starts, including Malaysia 2012.

How about Japan 2014?
+URsuckishATlife we'll how did that end
1:27 Schumacher's overtake on 3 wheels...lol
He is angry about rainy day racing decider?
The start at Spa is my fave start since this GP
I came from the future ... the Grand Prix of 2021 was completly different haha
that is belgian , that is SPA , that was formula 1. Unbeliveble today, what a shame.
Wouldn't even start the race now unfortunately in those conditions
A lot of rain = Amazing race
When it rains anything can happen like in Brazil 2003 and Fisichella's win
look at all those tyres bumping and jumping around literally everwhere. insane!
I remember seeing that crash live. it was randomly at a friends house. His dad was watching Formula 1 and told us how cool it was. We came over to the TV but didnt find it that fascinating at first and then this happened. Back then I was a boy only interested in mayhem but also I learned to love Formula 1 and of course not for the crashes.. that came with maturity.
Back in those days, proper start even if it was raining heavy, no stupid laps behind the safety car. It was racing.
Robin Melchiorre and everybody gt rekt
Even then, everyone was saying they should have started behind a safety car.
In the mean time, at 0:36, Damon Hill was there like "Yolo"
The car at 0:36 is Schumacher. If you look at the previous clip the Jordan ahead is Damon and the one that hangs back to avoid getting hit is Ralf.
Yes, you did look like a leprechaun, but we love you for it!
Thankyou for showing me this, very entertaining

@@rajpapineni5504 very true

Id rather have that. I stopped watching F1 cause it just isn't racing anymore. Fuel and tyre conservation has just turned it into a competition of who's the best sunday driver.
that absolutely actually right now, in 2020;
Ever noticed how these wet races were so much better, and much more memorable, when they didn't red flag them?
@@lethalchocobo1886 yeah... Is that one death in the wet in the last 50 years, only caused by an unfortunately placed recovery machine instead of pure wetness? Doesn't seem "much higher". There is, instead, a much higher chance of a great race
