- Destiny 2, Diablo 4, or MW2. None of their cash shops should be ignored. They've ruined in game progression since their introduction. Destiny 2 Diablo IV and MWII could all be better games without Microtransactions. Destiny 2 Eververse. Diablo 4 Cash Shop. MW2 Bundles.

I feel like the "Just ignore the cash shop" people absolutely did not ignore the cash shop.
do you count the bright dust store as the cash shop? cuz if you dont then i ignore it but if you do then i dont
@@beefboss4203Bright Dust can be earned without real money so no, while it is part of the in-game shop it's not part of the cash shop.

Consider, so many of the cash shop cosmetics could have been a reward from a destination, a secret, a quest
honestly this. I would care less about the shop, if there were more prestigious gameplay cosmetics to be earned.
Like, a special version of the dungeon armors/weapons for completing it solo flawless etc.
You mean almost all of them?
I honestly think the armor sets were supposed to be future armor sets to find on patrol or quests and then decided it would look better if everybody paid $10 for it.
But think of the poor board of directors!
Remember when they put the Dungeon sparrow in the cash shop 🤦🏽♂️
The main problem is. The effort and rescources get moved from in game rewards, to the cash shop. We don't have strike specific loot, or fun vanity rewards dropping from THE GAME.
Strike specific loot lightfall give us only one strike one dam Bungie

The thing I like about the D2 cash shop is that the prices are so absurdly high, I’m not even tempted to spend money.
If only everyone thought that way…
Brokie Mindset
I don’t care about people who spend money on stuff they like, but one of the problems people like November Hotel have is that they waste resources making the cosmetics, I guess
@@Benjiizus the problem isn't bringing resources towards cosmetics, the problem is that the cosmetics are being made not to become loot, but to become items on the cash shop.
Easily you could earn everything through gameplay (specially in destiny seeing the quantity they create for eververse), doing public events, lost sectors, daily missions or as a reward for your daily login... Idk, there are infinite ways for they to become a reward, but why do that if you can just buy it? (I'm thinking about easy ways to get reawardd for casuals, but you can easily do more hardcore triumphs for the rewards)
@@ultracookienite5857 dumb whale, what happens to your cool cosmetics when the game goes offline
Simply put, if Silver was replaced with the cash value of silver, people would rage over the prices. Classic sign of predatory monetization.
And thats a reason why it isnt, another manipulative tactic
Can never buy the exact amount you need to buy something either which would leave you with some left over, making you more inclined to buy again later so your excess doesn't go to waste.
They would bitch and complain for five minutes before the shop refreshed, then they're going into debt to get the latest skins and what not
Excellent point. These companies need to just put a single layer over the way you send them money and people will defend them. Its absurd.
Not to mention they price these in game items at just over what you can buy in one transaction. IE: 2000 points costs $20, so they will price their items at 2050 points, so you have to buy the 20 dollar currency pack, and an additional $5 pack.
Glad this conversation is coming back up. Destiny is deplorable in its monetization. Ive never used Eververse out of brightdust.
It feels like when I pay them for an expansion I’m actively paying them to fund Eververse content for pure profit, content I won’t be able to access.
I mean as a consumer you have no control over what your money is used for, it's like this with every company, but eververse is cringe and needs to go
@@joshmanakajosh thats why I said “feels like” and not for certain. But when each season and expansion eververse receives more cosmetics than the earnable content in the game itself, it seems almost impossible to not feel that way.
Only destiny?
So stop paying bro
@@gavinhendricks8689 yeah it's cringe, it's because developing content for eververse is cheap and low effort compared to doing actual work making quests or activities, plus bungie is probably focused on marathon rn so destiny will be on the back burner
It absolutely does affect the game, now matter how you look at it. Even just the fact alone that more shop items = more dev time making them = LESS dev time making the game.

Ideally, we shouldn't have to deal with both, but some compromise is fair. And in some cases, paid DLC is justified. Cash shops just don't sit right with me, period.
You want an example of cosmetic DLC done right, look to Deep Rock Galactic.
Another big issue is the fact their have to be physical teams from the art department to work on cosmetics. When cosmetics become the primary way a studio is getting funds they will have incentive to put more and more people on it. Remember what neomuna looked like in the trailer?? And we get there and it’s bare, very little neon color, not that immersive etc. Its starting to take away from core elements and gameplay because of how much cosmetics have been focused on. I think a great example of this is D1 in taken king. The armor that came out is one of the best in history, you could simply earn it from playing. And on top of everything taken king had a spooky feel to it, you felt like you were going against a god-like being. We just don’t get that anymore.
I feel like we're paying them for JPEG's.
I have a friend who's the epitome of the "consoomer" wojack. This man was straight up dropping damn near ONE HUNDRED dollars a week on Silver at the Eververse shop. He'd see something shiny and just go "oooooooo!" and buy it without a second thought. Boys, don't let yourself become that guy.

Now players pay for literally everything and get none of the passion or care that it used to have. Destiny is the biggest case study in how to ruin a game and slowly increase microtransactions like boiling the frog that is our community.
People need to stop defending Bungie.
Well I just wanna say, for secret missions and hidden quests, they stopped doing them because people would just go into the API and leak the hidden missions that were put in the game, so thats a community fault not a bungie fault
@@SiriusArcher hard disagree. They stopped them because they can't be assed anymore. Cool new content is cool new content whether it leaks or not. It pretends that monetization is divorced from the core game’s design which is NOT the case. Those very “cosmetics” pull resources away from other areas of the game and in-fact, business and design work hard to WEAVE the microtransactions into the core experience so that it’s hard to play the game without constantly engaging with them.

But I have only a couple of hours a week to do whatever I want on a game, I want to look cool now...not in 8 months worth of gaming. I now the feeling of being cool throu dedication. I ve been there, I was like that in WoW days back in 2007 up to 2013. But now I'm a 33 y/o dude...I want a cool brown duster, some cool looking shades and a cowboy hat without having to go to the same raid 999 times with 1% chance of drop in order to get 1 of those 3 items. Only to repeat it again for the next 2 for who knows how many hours.
There needs to be a middle ground, some cool looking stuff at the shop (for lazy people or busy people) and even cooler looking stuff in game (for sweaty teenage tryhards or jobless adults, no offense).
Maybe not a shop at all, maybe just a season pass or battle pass, so even you are paying for cool looking stuff you still have to grind to unlock them. IDK.
I'm not talking about D2 or D4. Never play either of those games, I'm talking in general.
For example, I bought SF6 recently, I could go and buy classic oufits for $10 right now or I could play World Tour and unlock it for free after a couple of hours. Once you finish 1 world tour you unlock every classic costume. So, why would I pay for something that is free and I can unlock it after a minimum effort?. Now, let's say someone tells me: Dude, world tour has x% drop rate on a classic costume (that could be for acharacter you don't even play). The whole thing is roughly 4 hours worth of gamming every time you want to unlock a random classic skin...OR....pay $10 and buy the costume you want right now.
I would be HELL NAH, i'm not playing God knows how many hrs only to get Cammy classic costume...I'm paying and be done with it.

These are no longer microtransactions. They have become macrotransactions.
If someone spends over $1000 on them, they become kilotransactions.
i feel like its also important to mention in regards to the cash shop and actual earnable to buyable armour/shader ratio
more armours and shaders get added consistently to eververse than they ever do to the game. how many shaders were added to the playable portions of the D2 with lightfall? genuine question for people because i'd like to know. there's what. like 3 shaders per season that can be earned by just playing the game and not buying the season? 5 if you do buy it? there's at most a single earnable armourset per season? we haven't gotten new vanguard, crucible, or gambit armours in a long time too so its not like there's stuff to earn there
how many shaders have been added to eververse with lightfall alone? i think its like 12? with usuaully 6-7 a season added for silver first and then bright dust later?
yes there's technically two armousets per season, but i want to remind people that the cosmetic armour in seasons is not only something you can pay to get, its also something that's required to be bought.and is a timed thing so you if you don't get it all before the season ends its gone forever
I wish this video got more exposure. I miss the days when flexing and looking cool was all about playing the game and not about spending $20 on a skin. Take me back lol
Its human nature to ignore a problem until it become too much to ignore, its in our dna. Bungie certainly has a team that is preying on today’s mindset that is pushed on young people in regards to “how do I look to other people?” Rewards needs to be had/ given right now. Instant gratification is been jammed down young people’s throats. They are told what people think of how you look matters. When in fact, it does not. No one’s really cares. No one except yourself. This is how they are cashing in, monetizing the game. People need to step back and realize, that how your guardian looks doesn’t and will not impact how well you do or don’t play this game or any other. Sadly, this need for fashion inclusion will be a monstrous task to scale back.
yeah that's a thing exclusive to the modern day right?
exact same mindset of people who would defend a game that was released incomplete with lots of unfulfilled promises, after X amount of time
"bro just install mods to fix it"
The easiest way to ignore the cash shop is to uninstall and refund the game for being trash. Full price games using a business model designed for free to play games has little justification.
Im gonna be honest though, when it comes to all the eververse armor sets, i think 90% of them look like overlyflamboyant garbage that i have zero interest in. This would be a much bigger issue for me if destiny 2 armor design artists were more competent
You're right on that mark, D2's art direction just isn't as appealing as Destiny's art style. It's like the designers were told to just throw anything at the wall and see what stuck, while in Destiny they had a cohesive set of standards and rules to upkeep in order to maintain the believability and immersion of the world. Sure, D2 has some cool armor designs, but seeing a Titan that looks like he's wearing a mix of trash bags, cacti, and a unicorn hat while looking like he hasn't done leg day ever doesn't sell me on that character being Humanity's best, the special Guardian who defends Sol from world erasing threats. He looks like a clown instead.
The worst part for me, is how they’re selling legendary armor ornaments that would have been actual armor that you could earn from nightfalls. Imagine if they made the psion cloaks from Destiny 1 a cosmetic, or the dark blade titan helmet!
Cosmetics do effect the game, if someone finds no issues with the cash shops in those games then they're not their target. Cash shops, battle passes, paid timed events, ect exist to target a very specific subset of people, people with things like ADHD that get an endorphin rush from say unlocking a new cosmetic & suffers from the fear of missing out. Those people would be willing to spend tons of money they don't have on a game they just slightly enjoy.
The community needs to send bungie a message and not buy into silver not buy into dlc play the game if you want but its better if you don't so that bungie starts making good content again instead of the cash grab bare minimum content that we get now please spread this message we need to band together
Great video. The turn to "free 2 play" I believe is the root of the problem. It's tricky we just want good games. Games that are fun and reward our time. When games go free to play, they need to make a profit somehow. The lines of morality start becoming extremely debatable. I totally agree with you that especially in reg kind of games, cosmetics are what you grind for. They are status and an achievement. When they can just be sold, it takes all the grind away making it seem meaningless.Great points, great video man
The free-to-play business model absolutely incentivizes making worse games.
Thanks bro. You eloquently explained the core issue with this BS.
Cosmetics are part of a game.
All majortransactions are amputated bits of the game that could have made it a whole experience. But greed is a powerful drug.
You may not believe this, but the company of Funcom actually has this problem BADLY in one of their games, not just in this aspect but in the complete opposite manner in one of their other games. Basically they've abandoned Age of Conan for years on end with little to no new content coming in for years upon years on end, and they've outright refused to add any new cosmetics for the remaining playerbase despite them asking and begging them for it lol. Mind you they aren't asking for crap like hoodies and beanies in Conan either, people typically want some of the new armor sets from Conan Exiles as vanity sets within Age of Conan as well as many other types of gear in the game currently as vanity gear, especially those only belonging to other classes, and this also extends to other race options as well. Meanwhile on Conan Exiles they've been adding more and more modern gaming business practices like battle passes and a "bazaar" cash shop exactly for cosmetics, ALA Halo Infinite-style.
you might think that cash shop cosmetics look cooler than raid armor sets, but people still recognize paid cosmetics versus earned end-game gear.
Yeah, because they cant ignore the cashshop they tell everyone to ignore, you couldnt tell the difference if people actually ignored it like they try to pretend is possible
@@-pressxtostart- the point is that we feel the cash shop hurted the rest of the game because we noticed a decrease on the quality of the expansions and seasons especially the seasonal loot that are more than half of the content reskins and with less unique new armor sets and weapons obtained on playlists meanwhile the eververse adds more new unique models every season
Keep up with these videos! They are fantastic
As great as this video is and as much as I agree with it, unfortunately it will never be enough to change anything, and it pains me to say that, but too many people won’t stand up to these shitty tactics and the company’s know they can get away with it.
Glad to say I’ve never bought anything that’s in the store I like to get stuff actually playing the game.
The thing is, i cant ignore it since so many players have cash shop cosmetics. It’s literally there in front of me, the players are the advertisements.
Never cared about these damn cosmetics. Never cared about looking cool.
Today, you earned my sub. I never played many online games and my first experience was destiny 1 during the taken king dlc. I still remember loading into the tower for the first time and seeing someone with the exotic sword boltcaster, and then trying to grind my way to actually getting that sword since I thought it looked so cool. I spent ages grinding for it but when I finally got it, it ended up being my most used weapon. I loved how it looked and also how powerful ot was. I will never forget that experience. It was one of the longest grinds in any videogame I played up till that point. I dont think I would have cared as much if I could have just bought a skin. That might be why I havent played much destiny 2 after I tried to lenjoy the game through the first 3 dlcs and ended up dropping the game.
I agree with pretty much everything said here. The thing that made me give up and just quit the game entirely is when i saw the state of lightfall and event cards. Having to buy your way into every little thing you can imagine just like the EA video memes from 5-6 years ago becoming reality. I don't have a personal big income yet as i am barley at the age where I can have minimum wage jobs in my area, so my dad pays for most of my gaming stuff. I've always been grateful for that and it would be rewards for good grades in school and other things. But when I started having to ask him " can i get the season pass, the deluxe edition, etc: " when I would get new dlcs...it became a self induced guilt-trip that would eliminate any enjoyment from the new stuff I bought within a few hours of playtime. eventually it just became too much and eventually it just wasn't worth it anymore and so I quit.
The way you roasted the guy that called you broke and your explanation of the whole system is perfect. Subbing.

2:05 the even funnier thing is that you aren’t even buying lines of code, you’re buying the PERMISSION to use them in another bundle of code your paying for the permission to use.
A side effect of this for me is that I’ve basically completely tuned out of admiring other player’s cosmetics or keeping track of where those cosmetics even come from. When I see a dude ride up on a dripped out horse in Diablo 4, I just defaultly assume he bought it in the cash shop.
This also causes me to care less about what my own horse or character looks like. “Good enough” is a term that goes through my mind a lot when I’m in my character wardrobe nowadays.
Bear example is gold 😂.
I know it’s not a live service game but God of War doesn’t have cash shop and if you want the best Super move, you gotta beat number of bosses. Sure if you play on easy mode, it’s not hard but I love challenge aspect so I play on hard mode and when finally I beat all bosses and got that super move. Oh man what a accomplishment.
I love earning the cool skins or “outfits” in games. Used to be how I spent so much time in the old Assassins Creed games and even Red Dead 1 as well.
Its the same as people that defend scam artists.
Saying "Fraud is just a business model" is the EXACT same reason criminals keep doing fake kickstarters and all that, since they know people will let them keep getting away with it.
In my country an average small chocolate bar used to cost 12p and the king sized ones at 15p in GBP
whats even crazier is the community for Destiny is so fucking brainwashed now they literally let people vote on what new armors or weapon ornaments will be added to the cash shop for 1/5 or in the case of armor 1/3 of the annual expansion price and people eat it up like rabid animals.
Destiny 2 is bad too because of the transmog system. Yeah its there, but its very telling that you can even max out the synthstrand from Ada's bounties in a season. Cap is 15 and you can only do 10 counties per character per season, but don't worry. You can buy some synthweave for money though. I can imagine it going something like this "Bro I just don't have the time! Just give me the option to buy this stuff so I can skip the grind bro come on I need to support the devs for their hard work for $49.99"
Hard to believe those people are more common nowadays. We used to mock those "Gamers".

You nailed it. ITS ABOUT PRINCIPLE. I would rather a shop charge me 10 bucks for something, then 5 bucks, and after I pay, they tell me that's only the wrapper, and I need to pay another 5 bucks before I can enjoy the stupid thing I thought was 5 bucks. These are aggressively predatory practices. Plain and simple. That's exactly why I enjoy finding skill-based microtransaction games, playing until I mop the floor with a whale with 4000k hours, then uninstalling. It brings me joy.
Your videos made me start seeing clear!
Just imagine no cash shop and all of these cosmetics and armor sets were just all earn-able in game. Play times would sky-rocket and there would be several new things to hunt down in game.
Yeah but then Bobby McChucklefuck O'Money MBA would not get paid a yearly bonus of 200k USD
You can ignore the cash shop sure, but you can’t ignore the fact that the game is inherently structured to push you into the shop.
I remember there was a time were you earn in game currency and spend it on the game, and you can earn by playing the game or completing challenges. Gosh I miss the black ops 1 and halo reach days.
Great video man!!
Some people may think you’re whiny, but I think you’re actually a good RUclipsr. You make valid and reasonable points about why Destiny is failing as a game. I feel like your videos are the reason I uninstalled Destiny 2. The way Bungie is handling the game is just horrible.
I’m happy that people are finally coming to sense after so long and not only for D2, I miss buying a complete game
@@SantiagoGT15 I've been feeling negative about Destiny 2 ever since Beyond Light. It escalated a lot during Plunder

The community needs to send bungie a message and not buy into silver not buy into dlc play the game if you want but its better if you don't so that bungie starts making good content again instead of the cash grab bare minimum content that we get now please spread this message we need to band together

New guy here and I have to say I love your content, the informative/chocolate bar joke sold me. Keep it up I'm excited for your other stuff.
It's videos like this that make me appreciate games like FFXIV more. Yes there's a cash shop (Mogstation) but it's not shoved in your face like Eververse, and you can look cool without buying an outfit. Want to look like a gunslinger? Farm Hero's Gauntlet for the aiming chest piece, then farm Eden's Gate for a hat with a white feather.
Destiny 2 doesn't have this type of option, every armor piece you get looks bland in my opinion and it's a nightmare to match things to give it that good look
Is mogstation even accessible in the game, from my memory it wasnt, or atleast, would pull up a browser on your console. I dont even remember the store being in game in FF online, which is great!
@@-pressxtostart- only through the website so you have to actually want to go there instead of having it shoved down your throat
To this day I still have not gotten over the fact that you’re paying *HUNDREDS* for expansions, seasons, Keys, etc. and the majority of the armor, weapons, and cosmetics you’re getting are either reskins of D1 content or D1 content altogether. My entire D1 loadout is in D2, for a price.
What’s the point of buying an expansion when it’ll be sunset in a years time? What’s the point of buying a season that only lasts a few months? D2, it’s monetization, and it’s players are the largest perpetrator of everything we hate in the video games industry.
Lord only knows how bad they’re going to monetize the Marathon reboot. Couldn’t have made it a single player shooter like it used to be, now it’s an online extraction shooter. Cause that’s what everybody asked for
Marathon's name is already stained with the reboot's announcement being from modern Bungie. We all know their business practices like the back of our hands, and Marathon is going the be chunked up into bits for them to try extracting money from any players who touch it. From how consistently badly they've treated players ever since Shadowkeep - namely the implementation of greedier monetization, the nigh-abusive levels of tasks they set for "community events" with minimal reward for completion, the removal of paid content that was never marketed as temporary or seasonal content, neglecting core aspects of the game at best and at worst actively sabotaging the experience of those core gameplay loops by removing content and in the case of the Vanguard playlist littering it with copypastes of the exact same cheap mission but reskinned slightly differently, and delivering less and less content to players through gameplay while pumping more content into the Eververse store - why would we expect Marathon to be any different? From what we've seen, it barely looks like Marathon's classic, actual games, it's more like a post-modern fashion shooter set in the factory and production areas of Westworld as well as the city Mirror's Edge takes place in. Maybe a bit of Cyberpunk is in there as well. It seems cool, but it's so unfaithful to the original Marathon that if it didn't have the name you wouldn't think it's related unless you know what you're looking for.
I love how honest you are about this!
Agreed. Early WOW kept me engaged because the progress I made was shown on my character through armor and stats. While I don’t think expensive skins is the best way for monetization, it’s for sure better than the prevalent p2w that’s popping up in all these rpg, and grind games.
W bear story
2:05 my god, I misheard what you said here, thought you said "you're buying lines of.." something else. I said out loud WHAT?! I was so confused until I realised I'm an idiot haha
I mean in a way, I guess you could compare it to that anyway in some sense, expensive unnecessary shit that's bad for you with some getting addicted to it spending what they don't have. 🤔
That candy bar argument actually made a lot of sense. I hadn't considered it like that, but yea, the skins in these games provide nothing more than a candy bar's worth of joy, so why is it okay that one is $20 and the other is ~$0.99? How did anyone ever sign off on that as a good price? I suppose if the players will spend that amount... Sheeple really love to make life worse for the rest of us, huh?
Oh boy and the bear argument really hit me.. I'm so dumb for ever spending a cent on Cash-bought drip.....
Honestly what gets me is the fact that $20 is essentially 1/3 of a full game. So for the cost of 3 $20 cosmetics you can literally buy a whole new game.
I rarely comment on videos, but I feel I had to this time. Keep up the good work man. You easily could conform to these greedy corporations and promote these scam of a game, build a channel around said games, have way more subscribers and make more money, but no you're deciding to expose the truth. I can only respect someone that doesn't sell out and choose to shine a light on these shady AAA studios. Your videos pretty much take the words right out of my mouth. I miss the days of old where when you buy a game, it came as a complete game that you can spend hours on either solo or with friends and have legit fun. Don't let these "whales" steer you off your path. You're doing good work!!! I hope you see this bro.

Thank you I really appreciate this comment. Sometimes it feels like I’m alone out here when it comes to my distaste with modern gaming but comments like yours remind me that there’s many others like me. Glad to have your support! Working on the next project right now! 🤙🏼
i agree with everything said, but i think some of the problem was created by us players. Remember those dope trial armor sets? also remember how sweats started charging ppl 50+ dollars for carries so normies could get that armor? I do, and i think bungie saw that and was like damn lets get in on that.
I also think its the era of instant gratification, no one wants to earn or grind for stuff they want it instantly and will pay to do so.
They defend the companies and cosmetic system because they don't want to feel the regret or humility of knowing they dropped $200 on broly booty skin. Similar to that of a gambling addiction, "i got to have it for 2 seconds"
I didn't mind the little buys like the CoD Ghost stuff where it was $4 for a bundle but it got severely out of hand, hate that it became more and more about the money wonder if will be able to go back to how it was

i honestly misread the title as "just ignore the cash slop" and i already knew what you were talking about
bro I was laughing my ass off the entire time at your bear analogy 😂
anna bray body pillow lol
Even though (in Destiny's case) yes it's just "cosmetics", you can't really ignore it all the way because they shove it in your face technically.
You see someone or a friend walking with a ornament that they got on the shop, or a weapon ornament, hell even the eververse engrams that they give you for free on the pass redirects you to the store and once it's open it leaves you there and you eventually get that itch to explore it.
Like at this point in time you can ignore it yeah, but it gets really difficult to do that when in every instance the game shoves it in your face that they have new ornaments, etc in the store.
Personally I just vibe with the style that I have and ultimately it's unlikely that I'll ever get silver to get a set of armor, mainly because at the very least you get the option to get event related ornaments with bright dust, which at least it's something, but silver? hell no, I have stuff to pay with my money lmao
this is why brightdust is good and bad at the same time because a lot a new player are like : "if this guy buy it so can i" when they don't realise that bright dust allow them to get it or they want to get it now.
Glad to see some people still have some sense. Good video
The problem with life service games nowadays is the effort to reward exchange. You put three hours of effort in, but you’ll get like no reward, unless you pay more money.
I've always been one to basically mock people waving their e-peen around with cosmetics. I've never been impressed with someone for having a cosmetic because it was 'hard to get', I've been impressed with people bringing together some awesome looks and themes.
I like cosmetics to be something that someone goes "this looks cool. I'll rock this". Having people hunt down that one cosmetic that ties their whole look together, switching it up depending on their mood, or just finding that one look that 'speaks' to them. People can (and do) lose dozens of hours going through that, and it engages people. Fashion in games that have that freedom adds so much more to a community, and has more experienced players tagging into less experienced player pools to farm it up.
The cash shop kills both the waving of e-peen _and_ those just doing it for the fun. There's not anyone diving into more obscure activities. No one going out of their way to grab that one piece. We have to crack open the store to get the look that we want. We have to pay through the nose to switch things up.
I used to be impressed back in halo 3 and the challenges needed to unlock armor back then.
We truly live in a cash shop society
Love the editing in this video lmao
Remember year 1 2014 Vog holographic cloak for hunters? You had to play to get it and it was cool to have a cosmetic status symbol. Rip that.
selling loot in a looter shooter is comedy
Personally, im happy with micro transactions in games IF theyre done correctly. Destiny is a great example of their business model, not being monetised fairly at all and therefore the hate they get for being called ‘p2w’ and everything else really is justified. I miss D1 days where you only had to buy one expansion and it would last you pretty much the whole year. That was what crota was like
Destiny isnt at all pay to win funnily enough. Pay to look good at best. Though you can still look good with what’s available in the game itself

this is exactly why i love the warframe cash shop and premium currency, you don't have to spend a single penny on the game because you can just trade your items that you got with other players for said premium currency, yes you're spending time, but id still rather spend my time if im having fun rather than spending money, it should be like that in every multiplayer looter game
warframe's issue is that you can buy almost anything for money, defeating the whole point of playing the game. If i spent 100$ on plat, i can get an endgame ready build on day 1
would b better if warframe had no cashapp, like back when the game was good, because it had no corny shop
