Èlia is not only a singer in this band, she is also a fantastic violin master, and a great saxofon player. How talented can you get?
I find myself listening to these young people playing and singing under Joan Chamorro and am amazed by there passion and for the music , Joan Chamorro is a great teacher and I can't speak too highly of him and wish him every success. This music keeps me alive and brightens my life, thank you.
Do people in Barcelona realise how very privileged they are are to have this inspirational music school and its talented young performers in their midst?
I think they do, as evidenced by the fun-loving crowds they get at the street dances they play for periodically. They also seem to sell out the great theaters where they play there. Amazing group.

Simply the best version of this wonderful Jobim jewel I have ever heard, and there are many great ones. This one and the O Pato are both the best reason for Elia to be singing. It was a great move to encourage her in this direction. Sweet, soft, mellow, accurate, emotional, it's all there. Elia is on top. And--violin? Saxophone? Where she is going is huge!!! Thanks for this one. The band is in fine form here.

To be fair they are mainly in their late teens, some early 20's by now but outstanding never the less. Ms Bastida's violin is top notch but her tenor sax and singing are getting better and better!

Arrangement is great and the lyrics to this song are so plaintiff, painting a picture many have experienced in real life. This is the beauty of music. It can reach down and touch your soul, recalling moments of joy and sadness in love affairs. What a gift we have in music. Treasure it.
Jacob Collier said something very profound about learning to play different instruments. He said he always sang what he wished he could play first. He had a clear mental image of what he needed to achieve and because of that could rehearse his playing with real focus and direction.
The Good Professor probably knows this, as every instrumentalist is encouraged to be a vocalist, an instrument always to hand. I'm sure the frequent choral pieces also help orchestral musical mutuality.
Jazz is the music of creativity. It runs into every corner of the sound world. Omnicompetent musicians, masters of what sound can emotionally achieve, will go further, wider and faster than others. The SAJB is like a wonderful slow motion firework. What corner of the heavens won't it light up? Elia, what a starburst.
