Thank you so much for being so vulnerable and open to share this with us all. That is a scary thing to put yourself out there but I think it helps others more than you probably even know. Sending you lots of love ❤️

You realize I hope you ARE doing so amazing!! Before you would have likely turned off the camera and not uploaded.
Instead you shared with us. We love you too. I also hope you know that while it’s not to the level you have struggled with, everyone has intrusive thoughts. Your brain chemistry makes it so much harder for you, but know we do understand and certainly don’t judge you. In fact, it’s just the opposite, you amaze me with your bravery and strength. Keep going forward!! I’ve been sick for months, unable to eat anything but saltines and Gatorade, new meds finally starting to help and I ate salads three times this week. I’m not “healed” but I’m going to enjoy this step and I hope you continue to enjoy your progress. We will hit bumps in the road but we both are gonna be ok!! Love to you, your fantastic hubby & the little doggy ❤️💚❤️💚

Sweetie, as the mom of a 36 yr old son who battles clinical depression & chronic anxiety, I have seen how devastatingly difficult it is for him, so I understand your pain! But I also understand how excited you feel when you finally feel normal again and the determination you feel about doing all the things you haven’t been able to do. Having said that, maybe you pushed yourself too far too fast…I’m sure you’ll be fine. Just take it a little slower!💞

I completely understand about the intrusive thoughts and not wanting to share what they are or what they mean. My daughter suffers from them. They were under control for quite some time and within the last few months they have come back with a vengeance. The problem is she's also bipolar and a lot of the medications used to treat OCD make bipolar disorder worse. So we've been walking a tight line trying to come up with a new medication to help her OCD. When she spiraling it is so difficult because I know nothing I do or say will change what she's thinking or feeling. I just kind of have to be there till the thoughts subside. I'm sorry you're going through the same thing. It's a terrible thing to have to deal with. I have severe depression and anxiety myself and I consider myself lucky I do not have OCD.

I hear ya! I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 4-5 (I’m 32 now). The older I got the less I would actually carry out actions relating to my OCD and I began to control myself but I think that lead to me just having more intrusive thoughts. My OCD isn’t debilitating though and it phase me as much as when I was a kid. it’s good to talk about these things. I think it helps!

I suffer from ocd pure o and terrified of what I might do or say and like someone once said “it isn’t that you would want to but the feeling that it’s already happened “ . It’s the words that stuck with me . The words that’s made me feel better are “if the thoughts bother you then you didn’t do it “! It’s hard to be open about it not knowing what people will think ! Ocd is pure hell and it’s eats away at your life and steals your happiness I don’t wish it on anyone ! There’s so much to ocd then people think it’s the worse of the worst ! It’s draining. If anyone out there knows someone with ocd just try to listen and understand each day is another day they fought for to be alive . It can make a person feel so suicidal it’s sad !

I've always had a hard time understanding what intrusive thoughts really were. Talked about ocd a lot with my last therapist and she basically just said I was rigid and tried to control my anxiety by doing certain things. When I research intrusive thoughts I think it's always generally stuff like "fear that you are a bad person or may hurt someone" and things like that. Which I don't experience so I'm just always unsure what my intrusive thoughts really are, but I know what does get me anxious and make me want to do certain things ... can't stop double or triple locking my front door lol.

Part of my OCD is that I struggle with speaking. Like is a word that I have learned to use as a way to keep myself speaking without needing to stop and completely start my sentences again.
