Those are M-60 A3's. I was in the M-60 A1. The A1's did not have daytime thermal sights, only the normal optical scope but we had starlight scopes for night engagements. 2/66 Armor, 2nd Armored Division (FWD) West Germany and 4/12 Armored Cavalry Ft. Polk, La.
Holy cow 12:19 is one of the coolest and most intense moments even if the whole situation played out in a matter of seconds it adds to it, the effects of the turret or cupola getting struck making the thermals stop working momentarily and seeing the shell fly in is just, damn!
I've been waiting 30+ years for a true successor to M-1 Tank Platoon. Having seen all of your GHPC content I broke down and bought this one. This weekend will give me a chance to play it myself.
@@ChannelNotFound Panzer Front was a good game but GHPC is the first title that comes close to scratching my modern tank warfare itch. GHPC gets closest to that old familiar feeling of ambushing a soviet column in a platoon of M-1's, with a support platoon of M-60's also at your command while calling in A-10 support and shooting down a Frogfoot with one of the M-60's commander cupola .50 cals like in M1 Tank Platoon.
If you ask Apocalypse, he’ll say they will never shout like this because it will degrade comms….but I’m pretty sure some of those low voices adopt high pitch when adrenaline rushes out ^^
I love the detail of the dead tank rolling down the hill. It may be cooked off but the tanks still in gear so it just keep rolling from the inertia. Awesome!
The work they've done on the voices, especially under fire, really shows in that final engagement. It adds a lot to the game when the normally calm TC starts screaming.
That first CAS striked was pretty ballsy by the pilot. Run in right in your face. You had a lot of faith in him. Those first few scouts really ate those APFDS's for sure. Brave crews, all.
Heck I lived these times. I was in the 2nd Battalion 64th Armor 3rd Infantry Division in West Germany in 1980-82. We transitioned from the M60 to the new M1 in 1981, being the first battalion to do so. It was like getting a Cadillac for an Edsel. We trained for chemical, biological and nuclear warfare scenario's and took part in Reforger exercises twice.
Hats off to ya bud... i was in SETAF in 82...went to the NCO chemo short course in IIRC Wiesbaden. Saw my first M1 there dang things were so dang quiet.
If your bored please make a video of this weekly. You have the best gameplay of this and the fire effects, explosions, smoke, and atmosphere in this game is pretty darn impressive. Your editing makes this game look terrific because I know if I play it, it wont have the same feel.
3:38 wow I didn't even know you could use the commander cupola .50 cal. Thats awesome 15:53 Thats the one good thing about HEAT is that its penetration stays near constant at any range, unlike APFSDS lol
@2:31....I'd say it was a mistake to not be "to concerned with that", because that scout vehicle was what more than likely called in your position to the Commie choppers before you killed it @2:42
Hello, awesome job!!! It is cool to watch someone who knows how to fight a M-1. Plus a added bonus, Wolfpack, knows TTP’s. (Tactics, techniques, and procedures). I have tried watching others attempt to also. (Nothing personal against them, they just do not have the skill set yet, keep working on it). Anyway, please keep doing putting out the video’s, I learn something new every time. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!! Peace Out!!!
I wonder how realistic this is? Would a conflict between two modern armies play out like this? If so, you definitely don't want to be in any kind of vehicle because those things don't last long.
There are small sets of related missions like hillside havoc, one offs, and the campaign, which has not been updated majorly for some time now but is planned to be massively improved later on in development.
Dude how did the commander get killed so easily? In war thunder my crew gets hit with a 380mm rocket mortar and they just get knocked out for a couple seconds before they teleport to my next tank. This game has really soft hands crew.

and A1 only has a Coincidence/Image match rangefinder. By The Way, Thank You For Your Service.
When we're you at Ft. Polk? I was in A Btry, 1/55 ADA 1982-1985.
Welcome home, soldiers.
Fulda gap vibes

Incredible acting. You could feel the fear before he died
That last hit on your commander... imagine having to drive back to base after having that happen in your tank.

We had Panzer Front this whole time

How was it
That was some amazing voice acting at 12:10, easily the best in any tank game
I've got to agree, they nailed that part really well.
The voice actors for GHPC are incredible at their jobs! I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Every time you say "On the way" after you've already fired, it gets my tank gunnery hackles up. :D

You could see the SABOT dart for a few frames before it hit you. That was really cool.
Yeah that is wild haha
"Hans, do you really think it's a good idea to drive over our own earthworks?"
"Oh I'm sorry, Günter, are you the Kommandant?"
I don't get it, but I read it in a German accent and it just sounds funny

The AAR in this game is stunning.
while you COULD shoot before your loader says "Up" IRL that shot would likely break his arms before he cleared them from the breech
Damn, that has to be the craziest mission thus far.
Wolfpack Aren't you the commander of your TANK? Rest in peace.
A really tough mission - awesome tactics & shots on the move. Stop to shoot on this one & you'll buy the farm
Thanks!
I also forgot to mention, the story format, is awesome, the way Wolfpack345, presents the mission’s.
Thanks
Another excellent GHPC episode, can't wait
its always darkly funny to me when you use sabot on the poor scout vics. it just makes a clean hole in one side and out the other.
Always keep ranging, before firing.
Lasing the target for range will make your rounds more accurate.
7:38
The commander knows what game he is playing :D
Wow back to back days of banger games. Oh we are definitely being spoiled😂
A Steel Beast simulator where I assume the setting and border of the DDR?
Scary, maybe it's the last conventional war before the nuclear attack?
We know it is some time in summer 1985 at the fulda gap region, but not much else about the backstory has been revealed so far.
12:20 O no, Roket In coming 🚀
The sounds & smoke/flame effects in this game are very good!
Thank you. 👍👍
Poor commander survived everything but the very last shell of the battle.
3:22 ENEMY CHOPPER A HEAD, WATHCH OUT
Poor Commander.. another good game Wolf

That's the first time I recall you taking hits in here.
Question real quick: Um, how did you miss that enemy BMP at 9:14? Am I the only one that saw it, or am I crazy?
Pretty sure it's already knocked out.
Yea it was destroyed, otherwise it would have been attacking still lol

rip in peace, commander
If you check again, you can actually see in the AAR portion where you're credited with killing the flight crew of that Mi-8 Hip.
This would be a hell of a pvp game
As always, I greatly enjoy your videos, man. Keep up the great work.
A nailbiter of a mission! Nice!
Man your vids of this game are always awesome. I really wish they had a demo out because it seems very much a love it or hate it kind of game for me.
gotta love some M-60 Action
Drones change everything
It was a fun one. It had a bit of everything.
Please, please, please, let's have a lot more of this Tank game please.
Enjoyed your video. Keep them coming!
great vid wolf
Are there larger tank battles in GHPC?
Great video series!
Wake up Wolfpack345 posted another video.
Awesome mission
>Wasting 3 Sabots on an armoured car you coulda killed with .50
comeoooooooon......
This game needs more AI inf for both sides. Still a good game.
Nice game
one thing im wondering is why use the main gun on the apcs (like that brdm?) i thought those (btr, bmp, brdm, etc) are easily penetrated by .50bmg?
Because big gun fun
You gotta reengage after firing from a hill crest unless the ai always knows where you are at that point its uselss
I wonder how realistic this is? Would a conflict between two modern armies play out like this? If so, you definitely don't want to be in any kind of vehicle because those things don't last long.
Loved it.
Poor Commander lost his Head... Literally
I wish there was a decent tank game like this on ps4
Great video.
Are these missions connected in a campaign... or just random missions?
There are small sets of related missions like hillside havoc, one offs, and the campaign, which has not been updated majorly for some time now but is planned to be massively improved later on in development.
Super video today
Could you please play the soviet campaing in gates of hell?
Nice.
I wish this game was on console
I killed the hip with a main gun round

Dead is dead right?! 😂 tank’s ok tho
Try playing the new foxhole naval update!
Do a IL2 flying Circus vol 2 career as a german already
in the real world, if your tanks run into attack helis..its a death sentence. Once again computer Ai not smart enough
Eh...Hips not Hinds...its like Hueys vs Cobras
Bear in mind that tank platoons don't operate in a vaccum either. There would probably be an M163 with a 20 mm Vulcan or a Stinger team nearby.
Could you please play the soviet campaing in gates of hell?
