The M60A1 AOS instantly became my favorite tank when I first got it. It actually has a pretty good stock grind as the APDS is better than the HEAT imo. The slow speed of this tank doesn’t matter too much if you know how to play it correctly.
T55A is similar but much better though.

@@TheAmericanLarper bruh what planet are you on. Playing America at 8.0 is basically a test to see how patient you are because of how shit everything is. All your tanks are extremely sub par and super expensive, other countries have by far better tanks, you have no options for cas and to top it off you are basically guaranteed to get completely rolled every game.

The whole Maus sequence was absolutely hilarious, that plane at the end flying by and having that weird engine sound also cracked me the hell up at the end! 🤣🤣
T95E1 is a bit problematic - its APFSDS has noticeable lateral deviation sometimes, making me feel like M60A2's slow ass HEAT is even more accurate than that
M60a2 heat is almost 100% accurate for some reason i never had any problem of shell turning away from crosshair
@@jPlanerv2 Agree! That's why I'd rather use M60A2 (with laser rangefinder) than fully modified T95E1. Especially after a Leo 1A1's turret bounced 3 of my APFSDS rounds.

I feel the worst APFSDS accuracy award has to go to the KPZ-70 (and its counterparts ofc). Damn thing can't hit a barn from a stick-throw away with that fat stumpy barrel.

I have top-tier Italy, by which I mean I have 10.7 which gets up-tiered into top-tier. I refuse to stock grind with HEATFS, so instead I've been spading everything before it and researching the whole 10.7 lineup before I inevitably try again. Gaijin really has done their best to make getting into top-tier incredibly time-consuming and then extremely frustrating once you're there.
8.0-8.3 is probably they best BR in the game. When you are up tier, you start seeing second gen MBT, more Germen and Chinese armored cars and missile launcher. When you are down tier you still got first gen MBT, traditional MT, HT, improvement of first gen MBT and IFV. The environment is so diverse in 8.0-8.3.
Best of all you won't really get that many people who only got one high tier premium which ruin your gameplay. People who play this BR generally know what they are doing and will put up a good fight. Sad that tanks in this BR is expensive AF to play.
Especially with the m60aos going down to 8.0 that USA lineup has been one of my favorite. It’s good but not overpowered. The Bradley and m551 are a lot of fun. The m163 is also the first good USA AA since the m16
Yup im finding the same, you get some decent early jets with some guided munitions for aome countrys or atleast good attacker and deffinitly far less single spawners then you have to deal with if you go any higher. I hope gajjin will do something about the single spawns eventually, meybe just make a game mode that u only spawn once cause they kinda ruin the game at high br levels

You get bodied by all the other nations that already have thermals and apfsds while the best tank which is debatable you have access to has the lowest penetrating apds unless you count ww2 tanks. The aos is on par with the centurion mark 3 but at a higher br. I mean you have heat I guess, big woop since you are already fighting mbts with composite armor, oh and hesh, that doesn't work on Russian tanks anyway because reasons. Oh wait but you have a range funder which is already outpaced by other nations with laser rangefinders. Oh and the Sheridan, a worse IT1 with one of the worst atgms in the game and literally no armor. Oh but how could I forget about the t95e1 which is the worst version of itself because of course it is, and despite being slow, having no stabilizer and having an apfsds that is by a large margin worse, is still double the repair cost of a t55a. Oh and the m163 the lovely spaa that is open topped is slow as balls and lacks a search radar is more expensive than the zsu-23-4 and is a higher br than the zsu-37-2. Because of course it is. There are only two tanks that are even passable and thats a pretty low bar and those are the m60a2 and the Bradley. Oh and of course because gaijin just fucking hates American players, you have no competitive cas options unless you push your whole line up to 8.3 which opens you up to having to fight bmp2ms and the myriad of german lights which will fuck you up. So good unless you have two braincells to rub together.

Ah yes, the M60A1. That bad boy's one of my favorite tanks in game because it has a rock solid 8.0 lineup, a massive upgrade in armor and firepower compared to the base M60 and is just an all around kick ass vehicle. Plus the M728 is one of my absolute favorite shells in game too, it has great spalling and it normalizes against armor so well that it's better than most early APFSDS rounds. The only thing it lacks is raw penetration power, and for that you have the HEATFS shell. Nuff said

Just discovered this thing a few weeks ago and i already had some amazing games in it.
Overall i think its kind of a hidden gem in the US tech tree because it gets overlooked quite a lot
The APDS for some reason works insanely good on this tank and is almost every time a one shot. Its much better than the HEAT-FS
love to see this vehicle being represented in the modern war thunder landscape keep it up! I also don't play top tier because I decided after having to use an xbox account after my pc kicking the bucket that enough was enough (after a few years of playing on said xbox account plus the handful of years on pc) to just buy a top tier premium to spite the universe's attempts to keep me from reaching top tier, that premium was the turms and I hate playing it because everyone on my team is also in a turms but is too much of a noob to even know that the bt-5 is amazingly affective at 8.7-11.3 so they never spawn in more than once in the turms, thus I am ultimately left alone with a great k/d but a loss in the battle itself resulting in a feeling of discontent and overall dissatisfaction. but it's great to kill noobs in xm-1's lol. (P.S. you should do a video on the t-72 A that isn't the turms as i'm pretty curious as to how it handles nowadays)
Hey man the reason I like your channel and actually stick around to watch the videos is due to you sounding so positive and happy, and that makes for a pleasant wiewing experience, and I have also played several matches with you before when I randomly meet you in battles, and you respond when I say hi, and are just generally nice. Also you are not a selfish prick when playing and actully contribute to the teamplay
I don't play top tier anymore because I find it super annoying that you always get spawn campt so quickly and I think that's the reason why so many people don't play top br
I love watching videos because you always have positive energy when playing and this is something I can barely maintain when playing this frustrating game.

Very OP in a downteir, and the armor sometimes feels overpowered from the weird angle in the turret and hull
Its basically just a British tank, nothing special. Its also super bad at 8.0. It got power creeped hard and it shows
Little known rule of Warthunder: Rarely is there ever just ONE Maus in your game. Always look for the second one if you see one.
Top tier gets really frustrating sometimes because if no one decides they are going to just sit in a SPAA the whole game your team will most likely just get wiped out by helicopters.

Top tier is unenjoyable for me because I’m constantly having to think about repair costs. Some tanks take 3-4 kills just to make up its repair cost in the likely event you die. The problem with this is that if you invest more than 1-2 vehicles you’ll take serious SL losses if you lose and barely any profits if you win. It’s even worse for players that are just being introduced to higher BRs where they’re still learning how to deal with maps and vehicles that can kill you 2 seconds out of spawn or across the map. During that phase they’re dying without or with few kills a LOT and when they’re paying 7-12k per tank it’s just not sustainable.
This is by far my favorite American line up it just have everything a good light tank a great mbt 2 missile carriers well 3 if you count the squadron vehicle a auto loader a average anti air a good back up medium tank that has apfsds and to top it all of one of if not the best starter heli in the game truly a monster lineup

I watch your videos because you seem to be one of the few content creators who actually seem to enjoy playing the game. Other guys out there sound like they are stressed to produce content and it's like listening to a mate play.
Drove the M60A1 AOS for 2 years in the mid 70's, the 3 main gun rounds on the turret floor, nope, that's a mistake. That and the M1919 coax, but the Israelis did use that in .308 as the standard coax was shit.
I am currently grinding 9.0 USA and the M60A1 is really a big help, tho im really struggling with the M60A3 TTS, not really knowing why. I am watching your videos because im interested in the tanks and in war thunder. I also like your gameplay and your personality, and you are my favorite content creator over all. I've been watching every video in over a year.

The a3 and rise p are just not that great. Their mobility at the BR is such a huge downside. Until you grind out the apfsds also it will really struggle to kill tanks frontally
I think one of the issues with top tier is that you have new players that buy their way in and only have the 1 vehicle at the BR , so once they die they just leave since they dont have more vehicles.

I don't play top tier that much because stock grind at top tier (8.0+) is pure pain. When tanks have thermals and range finders and all I have is stock heat I just feel like I'm not being out played im just at a huge disadvantage. This compared to mid to low tiers were the power gap between stock and fully upgraded vehicles is much closer.

I have British top tier and one of the reasons I'm not a huge fan of top tier is that I often times get shot from someone that I didn't see who in one shot managed to ammo rack me. Even only showing my turret I still end up getting knocked out through the breach. I enjoyed the B1 Ter until the uptier and I still really like British 5.7
Been waiting for this one, been searching for a 8.0 relaxed, easy to play and survivable tank!

Biggest reason i dont play top tier is the maps are to small (not all but most), and the games are over way to fast because 90% of players only spawn once. And i feel like the games are also empty because the grind is so long that alot of players just never make it to that stage of the game without giving up.
Also your right about game modes. I think we need something like rush in battlefield, and some kind of a death match mode where you only get one spawn to stop people from only spawning once in the standard rb game modes
I would really like an enduring conflict type mode for tanks on larger maps (especially for top tier)
speaking of 18:20 new modes, a heavy long range bomber only mode would be really fun in arb. basically you can only bring out a bomber that has no offensive armarment. b17s and pe8s dogfighting, yknow? that would be fun

For me, the hardest things in high tiers are the very quick pace and big disparity between adjacent BRs that make uptiers difficult. So yes, it is partially a skill issue ... Because of this, I have all countries up to 7~8 BR and lost motivation to progress further.
What really makes the American 8.0 lineup is the H-34 helicopter with the Bullpup missile.
I got 4 nations top tier. The main reason I don’t like playing top tier is mostly because of the expenses without having to spend money in premium account. Since my play style is quite aggressive I tend to lose quite a bunch of SL at times.

Don't worry I just found weapon selection too and I love it. I can't stand top tier it is agonizing. The missile spam is a big problem just getting hit from out of nowhere.

To answer your question in the video on why people don't play as much top tier as the lowers tiers.
The reasons top tier is not as fun as lower tiers:
1) Most of the maps are to small for top tier tanks. If you die once you can't respawn because you will get spawn camped because the maps are to small.
2) Most of your team will leave after 1 death and won't respawn another ground vehicle. This may be a side effect of the maps being so small, but it could be for others reasons. It could also be because they only have 1 premium tank? Either way most of the players only play 1 death before they leave.
3) You don't get a lot of RP for each match towards researching other top tier vehicles. This is because the games go so fast because the maps are so small and most players only play 1 death before they leave. It takes twice the amount of time to research new vehicles.
These are the major reasons I see why I don't enjoy playing top tier as much as I have fun playing mid to low tier matches. By top tier I'm including everything 9.0 and up, the rank at which most MBT's have thermal vision.
I'd add that its not really fun with all stabilizers, apfsds and thermals. It's basically less responsive call of duty, you can't use armor, can't flank, just click faster on enemy than he clicks on you.

I recently started playing with my high tier tanks. I lack the skill as of right now to enjoy it fully, and that is why I will drop down a few tiers to my favorite tanks and play them after a bad run at high tier. I also have been trying to play more realistic battles at the higher tiers as well.
Okay, for the "why do you guys don't play toptier?" question. I personally don't like playing toptiers because the vehicle is getting boring for a while bcs the grind without a premium is so damn slow, i got many kills but i only got 2k rp like wtf hell nah, that's why i don't play top tier and yeah for Air rb, i'm waithing for the Gen 4, getting boring innit
this tank is amazingly good but what people consider it's biggest flaw the speed i think it's a good thing you never get in sticky situations
Could you highlight the use of commander sights as part of a future video? I've almost never used commander sights when I play (I'm only up to 8.0), so I never really see the point in using them over binoculars.

Rangefinder actually comes in handy when getting big maps like Maginot Line. I kid you not I killed 5 tanks in full uptiers in Maginot Line
Damn what warthunder do you play I want that one. The one I play is an absolute slog with the m60aos being so poorly armored, armed and slow as fuck compared to the tanks you fight it make you want to shoot yourself
I just drive in front of Maus players in the m60 and the starship and for the most part they keep shooting your hull, works pretty well

Something you should notice: M728 rounds use the same ballistic formula as those long rod APFSDS(M829 for example).😶
Its penetration at 60° is more than the half the base penetration

I have top tier (russians only yet) and I do play it but I have a good guess why we get smaller games recently, and that is somewhat in connection to your assumption, "skill issue" thats related to the recent economic changes. They may have reduced the repair cost of some tanks but overall you do get less SL and RP / game so average and less skilled players can still struggle with income, specially without premium time. I started playing WT again a year ago and I do remember getting much better rewards for games. Recently had a 13 kill game with the Leo 1, got to drop a nuke and I "only" got 60k SL and like 7k RP with premium time. A few months ago that would've sure been well above 80-90k SL and 10+K RP. My other guess for the lack of players at top tier is the utter domination of the russians. It's just stupid and I can well imagine players having less motivation to play top tier right now, unless they want to play russia for easy wins.
only in WWII battles can players at all skill level earn their living. The income at WWII tier is so far considerable( with premium account of course)
This thing is annoying to deal with espically of you are limited to using 122 mm APBC but the upside is that it is easy to dealwith if you use overpressure mechanic ....honestly overpressure works on anything it is broken but still fun.

I prefer the T-55A because I think its protection and firepower are better than the US M46-M60 types.
I don't play top tier because the repair costs are just to high if you don't have premium and I only have prem about 30% of the year

I have close to every tank in every nation except for China were I'm stuck at boring 6.3. I rarely ever played top tier until recently for two reasons.
1. I have a mission to spade every vehicle in the game and I got pretty much done with 8.0-8.3 last fall.
2. The grind. The grind when you pick up your top tier tanks and don't have a single module installed is HORRIBLE. That's the main reason I never touched it before recently.
I like AOS and RISE, I actually grind them to ace. Very solid vehicles
BTW, my opinion, M728‘s performance is way more constant than shitty M735
And also I would recommend take 3 or 4 smoke rounds

8.0 USA is really strong but I must say that I’m struggling to use t95e1, I mean the only way that I can make it work is sniping in a hull down position and if you know war thunder you know that most maps are close quarters or very small in general and its mobility is not that good either meaning that you will have an hard time reaching good sniping position before the enemy, but maybe it’s just me

I don't really play top tier anymore due to heli / CAS spam. Why bother with a 2nd spawn when you're immediately hit by air ordinance?.
Personally i don't play top tier that much because its easy-mode. Thermals, laser range finder, stabilizers .

Currently spading US 9.3-9.7 vehicles for research the last two top tier vehicles (roland based AA and HSVT) and i still have to spade the whole M60 (AOS), RISE and TTS...
Probably i will save them for any new vehicle add to the tree, since i don't have the XM1.

The reason i didnt play toptier a while was the repaircost (since the update its better now) and the real reason are helis.... i hate thoose since they are in the game toptier is not as fun anymore.
The only thing im conflicted with about this tank is that idk whether the m60 or the m47 is sexier

I still don't find this AOS making it into my awesome 8.0br USA ground lineup. It's a toss-up beween the AOS and the T95E1, and the T95E1 is my preference because of its great specialist use for long range sniping with its 90mm APFSDS.
I just find that the aos is much more versatile because of the stabilizer.
I dont play top tier often because its not rewarding. Reasons of that is helicopters, people leave after 1 death, short duration games, spawncamping issue after 1 minute from start, current maps (most of them) do not support modern fast MBTs (really need new game modes and new much bigger maps for top tier). I really get enjoyment from long hard battles where most people fight to the bitter end, doesnt matter if that is win or lose! You rarely (if ever) get those games at top tiers, BR 3.4 - 8.7 is where game is still playable.
I only have top tier in ground Rb for britain, I gave up on the boring playstyle of the Challenger and started to grind through germany again, currently playing at 9.0 and suffering from the premium spam as my winrate has tanked by 6% already from a week of playing. not doing well and the horrible vertical targetting speed of the Leos with stabilizers has gotten me killed in so many situations and in extension made made me rage.
Getting a lineup for helis, tanks and planes at top tier takes quite a bit of time. Not to mention spading these vehicles. Before you have done this, you just feel at a disadvantage compared to others. These disadvantages multiply at top tier, because of the multitude off mechanics you lack in a stock tank. I have reached to top tier for tanks a couple times for a few nations. I'd rather play with a lower BR lineup untill i have all the tools at my disposal, not only tanks wise. Or even switch nations to play at lower tiers again. the game is just more fun with fully spaded lineups. Currently at top tier you get bored over a certain lineup before you even get close to spading it.
I still wish to see the T95E1, I enjoy this tank. yes has it's problem With only Sabot), but I enjoy it, as an attempt to become the 2nd generation MBT to replace the M48. along testing a very smol caliber gun to be smoothbore with APFSDS (Which provd to be inaccurate, which um, still unsure the main cause, but 90mm with sub-caliber round? Yeah, I think it may be the size of the round that ruined the trajectory in ranged combat. Though maybe i'm wrong). Though project failing and replaced with the well known M60 Patton.
Though I still enjoy the T95E1, and would have the M60A1 (AOS) in my lineup with my other 8.0 tanks.
