I think a lot about your videos and the majority of food I eat comes from whole plantbased foods, I avoid oil and salt as much as possible and refined foods, but many people tell me I am being almost unhealthy because of that. And that makes me think about it like "hm, maybe I am pressuring myself too much." sometimes, not always of course, it's okay to just eat what is delicious but not always 100% healthy. We need balance sometimes, right? I mean, in the end we only have one life and we should strive for health, but balance is the key of health and happiness I think. 😳
I go through the same, i dont use any oil or salt in my food and when i eat with others sometimes i think maybe i am more than i should be doing but in the end the science is there so i keep doing it since my food tastes really good but sometimes like 2,3 times a month i go out to lunch and eat food with both oil and salt. It's like i try being 95 per cent healthy with my food and leave a litle space if i wanna have fun. I noticed by doing this clean eating i dont even crave other types of food most of the time but if i eat something like vegan icecream i will be thinking about eating some more for a few days.
don't take it too seriously what other people around you say. We are brought up into a VERY unhealthy society and world... which means that people will of course believe that we are being "strict" when we decide to exclude these harmful substances and food items. When other people around you accuse you of being too strict, it's because they are being waaay too unhealthy of course. They're essentially shocked (and jealous) to see someone with such determination to be as healthy as possible, and to see you HONOR AND RESPECT your health & body is freaky to them... because you no longer fit in to what is deemed "normal eating" ... it becomes seen in their eyes as UNhealthy eating 😜. I promote eating a diet AND living a lifestyle which is designed for human beings, and so promotes optimal health and wellness, so that people can THRIVE and feel like their best self. ALSO: I think if we only have one life, we should do the best we can to be as healthy and well as we can be, to live a long happy life 😎👍
so alcohol is ok if it is not in abundance and it doesn't make you feel worse, but coffee is not ok? see, for me, coffee is not a vice and neither is alcohol. I don't rely on coffee and can go days and weeks without it, however there are times that I want it because I enjoy it. so don't you think that caffeine/coffee could be categorized similarily to alcohol in that regard? thanks for the video!
katie voelker personally I don't think either at every good for our health. Alcohol is linked to several life threatening diseases (like cancer), and I would rather not get these diseases over drinking alcohol. Coffee is high in caffeine which I think is why it has been said to be bad for you. Also, lots of people add huge quantities of sugar and milk which obviously isn't good for you. However, in your situation I think it's fine to have a cup or two every now and again! Seriously don't worry about it, everyone likes a treat and by not allowing yourself to have coffee, you will probably just be unhappy!!! :)
Yes absolutely! coffee and alcohol do NOT promote health, HOWEVER they can certainly be included in your diet with your own discretion for pleasure and enjoyment if that's what it brings you
I really like watching your videos, but this video makes me think like maybe you are spreading a very strict opinion. I try to eat as healthy as possible, but to be honest, I don't think it is a healthy mindset to erase every single thing you mentioned. Like the world is huge and people eat the worst stuff, and your opinion makes me feel bad when I eat something like a (vegan) bar or something. I agree with a lot you say, don't get me wrong, I just feel like you carry very strict opinions with you and I don't believe it's healthy neither. I hope it's understandable what I mean. I know you don't have any bad intentions, but if other young people watching this take your words as I did, it's not good for them.
thanks so much for your feedback! this video does not specify a diet. It shares my thoughts & opinion, (based on my education, training and experience) on what food items I believe to be the most damaging or dangerous for human consumption. But of course I agree every body is different, every one has different goals, so I say that you can take these tips with your own discretion that aligns with your health & wellness goals, for whatever you feel is right for you 😀
PurelyLu - so funny. I am watching this video now and have had brown pasta with it. Even though it is not a whole food it is better than white pasta. And if you stay away from the oil the whole meal is superhealthy. If we truly enjoy what we crave it is very healthy. (I have had a severe pasta craving this week and had it every day.)
I usually love your channel but I really think this video misses the mark. Unless you're cutting certain foods out for allergy/intolerance reasons or ethical/religious reasons eat all foods in moderation. It's so important to understand that little oil isn't going to instantly make you gain weight and neither is a little processed junk food like white bread and jam. A whole-foods, plant-BASED diet! 90% wfpb and 10% whatever you want.
I'm really helplessly addicted to Diet Coke ...it's my one vice . I drink the caffeine free , so it's the taste I'm addicted to. I've tried EVERYTHING to give it up with no luck . I'm past the point of trying to give it up now 😐
You might as well just tell us to be raw vegan or eat air please stop pressuring people you are not a scientist every one have a different body and every body have different needs some people can't survive on I diet like this

being a refined product, all of it's nutrients have been extracted from it.. it is essentially empty calories. It is a great source of carbohydrates, but really nothing more then that
Well, olive oil is not a bad oil because they don't take anything out of the olive, they just mush it. It also has healthy fats and antioxidants, not like most oils out there.
It's still about 10kg of olives in a 1kg of olive oil. So you can see how concentrated and ridiculous it is. So eating a handful of olives is way way better than using a tbsp of olive oil. Plus your body metabolises differently.
Show me where you get unfiltered olive oil from a supermarket. Unless you have access to those very first presses, completely unfiltered, you're buying processed olive oil.

Just cause it makes you feel bad to hear it, doesn't mean it's not a bad thing to eat.
Sooooo instead of oil what should we use for cooking
all you need is a little bit of water in the saucepan OR use a low sodium sauce :)
Great video!! I always love to hear your thoughts on different foods 😊👍 Thank you for sharing!
YAY thanks so much 😝
What about brown pasta?

Meat products are high in cruelty
is tea ok? I love tea
Is wheat bread healthy?
it is not a whole food. But depending on the ingredients, it is generally not "bad" for you! It's a good treat every now and then 😎
oh an pasta and and brown rice ?
glad you didn't specify wheat haha gotta love bread xx
whole grain bread is my fav 👍
The Vegan Solution I think Rye is my fave 💜

what about white rice is it not good for you
white rice is very refined. Try to go for whole grains instead! brown rice or quinoa or red rice or wild rice etc..
