I like this type of video. It made me want to add some mindfulness projects to my own sewing routine. Stuff that I take my time with, where I'm just having fun.
This chill sewing video is so encouraging! I feel the same pressure when I'm in the middle of a project that I stopped feeling excited about, and this video is a good reminder that it's okay to switch off to something that does bring you joy. And that coat turned out fabulous! I especially love the pattern of the fabric.
I really appreciate how you kept reminding yourself to go slow. I always feel so guilty that it takes a long time for me to finish a project. I will definitely be more intentional about being in the sewing moment now. 😊
I loved this video. I have had a lot of things on my Must do now list- which has made even things I like to do feel like a chore. I have been recently trying out just slowing down and working on my projects because I want to. With no pressure to complete quickly. To slow down and just be in the moment. I'm much happier with this type of making. The joy in just the doing has been coming back :-) I do have chores that need to be done in a reasonably timely manner. But I don't need to extend that to my creativity. Slow and just getting into the zone - not worrying about the time to complete the project -is where I want to live day to day with my creative endeavors. Thanks for the confirmation I'm on the right track with this.
Well done Cassie! You did an excellent job on the jacket. So proud of you for taking the time and you level of self awareness. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. 🥰💓💞
Resisting the pressure to make fast is something I have wrestled with. Now ì am at peace with it takes as long as it takes. That small place in time is always smaller than how long the items lives on in your life.
Aah, Cassie! You did a great job. I have also decided that it is so worthwhile to take my time. I want my clothes to turn out just as well made as your jacket.
Lovely jacket, the comparison of others is really a thief of your joy at doing something.. ! I always try to say to ppl when they start sewing, that it really isn’t a race. Enjoy your jacket it’s lovely. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Reallg enjoyed this - and it seems you did, too, and thats heartwarming to witness. Fhe final result looks like something from a realy fancy I'd be so proud if i made that! Side bar: I struggle to listen to words when there is background music. Maybe thats just me? In any case, still so much enjoyment here and in all of your videos. I'm really glad I've found your channel. ❤
@@MakingCassie the best sewing or knitting content I have found is when the person is really enjoying themselves. I feels to me that those are the moments that spark joy or interest or ideas in me most of all - even though this video hasn't lead me to want to make a coat (but one day, oh yes!), I did go and print a pattern that I have had saved for a while and got the toile fabric out to have a go of making my first version. And that's pretty cool! So thank you for your creative company and how it encourages me to keep time carved out for making things and remember parts of the craft I may otherwise forget. 😊 👍
Cassie! Treat yourself with some thread snips, i saw Those heavy scissors in your video. I have a tray that slides underneath my serger and it holds snips, tweezers, chalk etc. It really helps me not lose those tiny but essential tools
Do you like this type of video? I had a lot of fun making it so I’d love to do more of this for you!
I love making things while watching vlogs like yours
That’s so great to hear! I hope you feel better ❤
Love it!

Very cute jacket. I would have loved to see more of the details you did when you showed us the finished jacket. Love your mindful sewing.
What a great tip with fabrics store! They offer a lot of patterns for free. 😊
I like the details inside the jacket a lot.
