I'm just getting into sewing. I mainly fixinging my workwear and denim. I was really interested in making a jacket. Thank you for the video. I believe soon I will achieve this goal.
Thanks for the tutorial ! I'm a cosplayer who's just getting into making my own cosplays rather than buying them. and I definitely needed this tutorial for a jacket I was creating for one of my cosplays.
Thanks! I created a pattern by tracing over a denim jacket I had! I’m sure you could fine a similar one on the internet although you would probably have to purchase it.
I’m new to sewing and patterns. By showing a reference pattern , are we supposed to have our own measurements to be able to make the pattern ourself? Or I don’t understand how the mini reference pattern is supposed to help us or be used
Hey! Yes! It is used to see the shape of the pattern and how many pattern panels you will need. For some, it isn’t very useful if they have not made patterns before, but when I first started I would have found references very useful.
I think I'm 2 years late but i have two questions 😭 I have problems with the measurement, did you use a pattern and also can i use leather instead ? Thank you!🩷
Hi! I did use a pattern that I made by tracing a personal jacket. Leather would be awesome! Make sure you’re using thin & quality leather or have a strong machine for sewing layers of the leather.
Thanks! At the time I made the jacket, I had been sewing for about a year and a half. I definitely had a lot of time on my hands to get a good mindset and basic skill for sewing!
Hi! Thanks for reaching out! I purchased the canvas at a thrift store, but i included a substitute I found online. As for the zipper, you can look up YKK zipper and find your desired length! www.amazon.com/Canvas-Duck-Fabric-Solid-BLACK/dp/B0155P8I8U/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=6JM1N17OOID3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.zLde8bk08HdpewiS74A9EKyHNpeFKCb1kZgW1S3_oM2nbUyBUaKI5W4CxIKs-92XovUAH7iakZLdP9Auz9yxPGWnpSFnwAmvXNEez3TpLKd5-dSaDljgONdp0-Khxj7N-zFWbWAIZ7GzU6aX5Z6jTqJRYzKCWjBETmx9DEDR7O1HYIQbKstTqZZkIqzh9MAN4oPzO01E2nN4d7NOVtLUFw.D54C23NMayB_RGJX70T5RoaKB4L-XoWVdhWE_o7fLSA&dib_tag=se&keywords=canvas+black+10+oz+fabric&qid=1708404227&sprefix=canvas+black+10+oz+fabric%2Caps%2C171&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1 www.amazon.com/Black-Satin-Fabric-Inch-Wide/dp/B00E9HWR56

The workwear jacket came out great...mad sewing skills…

Hello, great tutorial! I like this jacket and could be even better in suede! How do you make cuffs with button openings?
Thanks! I’ve actually been wanting a suede jacket! For the cuffs, I linked a video to a tutorial. ruclips.net/video/zJy6VAy9BeY/видео.html

how many yards did you use of the fabric?
I used 2-3 yards for the main body and 2 for the lining!

Wait how many yards did u use? Like just for the front part not including the lining?
I believe I used 3 yards!

I cannot get the collar to lay flat. Any tips please?
Hi! Try to iron down your collar and see if that works, if not DM me on Instagram @theelliottran and I can check it out more!
Very impressive man, this is the sort of thing thats hard to find. How long have you been sewing for?
Thanks! At the time I made the jacket, I had been sewing for about a year and a half. I definitely had a lot of time on my hands to get a good mindset and basic skill for sewing!
Can you share link where to buy the materials. Thanks man

Thanks, you too!!!
Did you punt the pattern online? Also what measures did you use. And last but not least how did you made the collar?
Unfortunately I did put a pattern up. I just do not know how to digitize one that is scaleable. I used measurements from a trucker jacket that I had and traced a pattern from it as well. Love this video, how much fabric did you buy to make the jacket? And what size are you?
Thanks a lot for the support! I bought about 3 yards to make the jacket and am a size small Mens.
Wow great tutorial! How much of each fabric did you use?
Thanks! I’m an overestimated, so I bought about 3 yards of each. You really only need about 1 - 2 yards depending on the material and size. The sleeves, I only needed 1 yard.
What material are you using?
I used 100% cotton duck canvas fabric
How much material do you need for this
Hi! I believe I used 2 yards for the main fabric and 2 yards for the lining
how many oz is the duck canvas?
The one I used was fairy light, around 7 ounces. I’m a big fan of heavier canvas, so if you’re like me I’d say 10-12 ounces.
Can you do a video of how to sew nascar jacket?
Might have to! Have you found any tutorials for them on youtube?
Can you make the pattern?
Hi! Unfortunately I am not able to, but I do recommend to learn how to pattern your own clothing. It’ll you make everything fit perfectly!
Hey Man, can you drop the pattern for this ! thank you
Hi! I’m sorry but I do not have a digital pattern, I created a physical one from tracing my clothing
What about the collar?
Were you wondering how to attach it?
Would it be possible if I can get the measurements you used for the jacket 🤧
Hi, what size are you? Because I made my measurements exact to my size.
How did you learn how to sew so well?
Thank you!!! It took a lot of time, practice, and learning from RUclips. I still make mistakes constantly, but it’s all about learning from them 👍
where did you buy the liner?
Hi! I bought the liner on Amazon. It is just 3 yards of black satin fabric, but it can be bought anywhere.
Bro could you send me the pattern pls
@@woods8591 hey! Sorry, but the pattern was never digitized, it was only traced on paper
