This was my first clothing sewing project and this video was essential to putting it together. watched the whole thing several times. I will definitely use your pattern for friends who want a more fitted hoodie
You should really make a tutorial on how to make flare jeans they been hitting in the fashion world a lot lately and I would really love to see you making this project for us
I know how to make them its pretty easy. Its a trend right now but its old. Its really the oldest trick in the book its just a trend right now because “nothing is new under the sun” “everything comes back full circle “ “history repeats itself “ back in the 70’s thats all ppl knew was to flare their jeans ! they’re fun to make i found a few RUclips vids on here and practiced and make a few personal pairs for myself
THIS is the channel I’ve been looking for! 99% of the sewing vids out there are geared toward flowery fabrics and Etsy soccer mom type projects. A guy doing guy things on a sewing machine, and clear concise instructions! Thank you SO much!

I never skipped through any of your videos. Thank you. This one video solved so many of mu problems I have been having with my other garments!
Tip from model making experience: if you want to skip the tracing paper when transferring your pattern to the heavy card, you can just lay the main pattern straight on the card, trace over the size you want by punching small holes with a pin >> you'll have the pattern outline on card in a dotted line; the squarer the pattern the less holes needed, more holes for curves. Then just cut out or connect dots with pen and cut. Another way: hatch in pencil the back of the original pattern, lay on card face up, trace on the pattern with a not too sharp tool (you don't want to cut the paper) - the pencil graphite on the back will transfer the pattern outline on the card - like the old school blueprint paper
Yo I've been doing sewing for 3 years watching RUclips and first 5 mins of this random video RUclips recommended already teached me more than any other videos I've watched
Hi Glory or Allan 😉, It's the 2nd time RUclips presents me your channel. I love it! Nice music, clear explanations, usefulness. It could be the time I make a dream coming true. As far as I remember every Saturday morning a lady, Ms. Lydia, came to my family house and she and my mother "occupied" the kitchen till afternoon. Ms. Lydia was a "family" tailor. In that kitchen tons of fabric got in, and a lot of of stuff get out. Courtains, men shirts, overcoats, ... Even some boxers for me, made with Egyptian cotton my mum bought in that Country. And the there was always something to repair, adjust, turn over (yes, inside out) and this was funny as, for example, my father overcoat became my sister "new" overcoat, my mother's winter skirt could turn out my winter trouser (depending on colour 😂). This was the way in the '60 and '70. This was the wealth of a family. And pret a porter was still in yet to come. OK. In your video a stage is missing. Ms. Lydia cut and managed the sewing machine. My mother did something I see you do not do. She "pre-assembled" the cut parts together using pins first and fixing with a white weak cotton thread. The last was then taken away when the parts were "joyned" by the sewing machine. Is all the process substituted by those colored clips you use? Don't they interfere with the fabric presser when sewing? Ah... the dream... I gonna by a Singer sewing machine....😁 (The 4411 HD or the 4423 HD. Need to understand if the 100 bucks difference makes sense). Thanks!
i was cooked, and i was just sitting there and i decided i wanted to learn how to sew. Its 4am now and this is the best video i've ever seen i just ordered a singer 4423. i genuinely thin you are like changing my life rn lol this seems to approachable and the opportunities are endless to make my own personal stuff exactly how i like it

And in all my sewing I never new about adjusting the pressor foot for material like this. Thanks so much for sharing. I like to watch a tutorial before I buy to make sure I can follow correctly. And this tutorial is amazing! Excited to buy this pattern been looking for a good hoody
Most definitely. Some cities for sure have better access to an assortment of fabrics than others. The presser foot does help for feeding the fabric through smoothly. Glad this tutorial helped 😊
This is so awesome. I appreciate the way you broke down the details and instructions. I also love how relaxing this video is, it makes following along less stressful.

This is great! I'd like to see high school freshmen getting a class in their schools offering this type of instruction. They could sew their own athletic wear for PE class, and have the knowledge to sew/alter/mend/flip a lot of their own fashion as well.
That would be great. A lot of teachers around the world have used this video and others to share with their classrooms :). Haven't heard of a PE teacher yet but maybe someday.
@@GloryAllan It wouldn't have to do with teaching PE, but the pride of wearing self-made garments in a real PE class (or even just as street/casual fashion) would be huge. Project management, measuring/pattern cutting, design decisions, small machine operation, maybe learn about laundry, repairs, etc. A whole lot goes into clothing, and it would be an awesome curriculum if a school board would agree to credit it.

Man you’ve taught me so much just in the first 6 mins of the video. Didn’t know the pressure foot could be adjusted nor did I ever use a stitch starting, I just thought the pressure foot being at a tilt was normal.
Beginner sewer here and your tutorials are the best. Easy to follow, detailed, and well-filmed. Would you ever consider doing a basic cut and sewn short sleeve shirt tutorial?
Just finished My Dress Up Darling. I had no idea that sewing was as cool as this. Your videos make things very easy to understand even though I have no knowledge. I shall be following along to make my own hoodie once I get all of my materials
This was a super helpful tutorial in many ways!!! I appreciate the level of detail that went into the explanations. I followed along with the free regular hoodie pattern, and came across some challenges, though. Some of the pieces are different (sleeves and side panel shapes) which confused me. In the pattern I was using, the side panels were convex and the front/back panels were concave. I could not get them to match. The side panels in the video were a different shape, and since there were no other instructions, I was stumped. In the end, I wasted a bunch of good fabric trying to make this work.
Woke up today wanting to look up “how to” video’s about sewing hoodies and this video popped up in my recommended. I’ve never searched anything comparable to this. Google is predicting my thoughts 😰 Thank you so much for this video! I enjoyed it a a lot!!

Very well spoken wasnt confused at all keep up the good work
Glad it was helpful 🙏🙏
So many helpful tips and tricks - thank you! And thank you for making the pattern available for free, much appreciated.
Like a t-shirt? If so I recently released a boxy tee tutorial GA018
@@GloryAllan I meant like a button front, collared shirt, if that was possible. Buttons intimidate me
I never even knew this side of RUclips existed. This so so cool. You make such amazing quality clothes!
The instructions stay the same, they still connect together :)
Woke up today wanting to look up “how to” video’s about sewing hoodies and this video popped up in my recommended. I’ve never searched anything comparable to this. Google is predicting my thoughts 😰
Thank you so much for this video! I enjoyed it a a lot!!

YO BRO!!!!! FIRST & FORMAL I want to thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge with us , i Love you so much man!!
Fantastic tutorial. You explain everything in a calm and approachable way, which at the same time sounds like a real person and relaxed, and not like a "tutorial voice" many people do. These always inspire me to take on new projects.
