Allan Tidgwell Thank you! Hades wasn’t really a bad god by “Greek god” standards and in Roman mythology he is even the god wealth. Also to my knowledge he was the good god to the people of the underworld. Definitely one My favorite gods in mythology.

Yeah. If this is going by the Disney movies then what revenge is Hera trying to get? Zeus didn’t cheat on her making herc in the process when it comes to the Disney canon, that’s her son with Zeus. she was cool with him going back to earth to live out his life as a mortal with Meg so it isn’t even the mom pissed that someone came in and “took” her baby away from her thing either. If anything Zeus and Hera are a well functioning couple in the Disney canon and not the shitty relationship like the myths
After Jasmine and Aladdin flew over Greece, they ended up in China where there were fireworks. China was celebrating the defeat of the Huns by General Shang's army in Mulan. Jasmine and Aladdin had just left China when the Huns attacked and Mulan would be later honoured by the emperor.

It is an easter egg. It was also supposed to symbolize the killing of the Nemian Lion that Hercules killed as one of his 12 labors; as he wore the Lion's hide as body armor afterward. Another easter egg in that scene is of Phil with the face paint on after the artist hits him with the paint tray. The face paint is an easter egg to the movie Dumbo and the face paint that the clowns wear in it.

one theory about Hercules is that:
when Hercules was a baby, he fell from Olympus. Still being a god, he was shiny, resembling the single drop of pure sunlight in Tangled that created the healing flower.
evidence: Hercules is famous for his god-like strength. Rapunzel has god-like healing powers from the flower, which are powered by Hercules's strength. This means that Hercules staying on Earth isn't what caused his godly glow to disappear. It was Eugene cutting Rapunzel's hair.
The Meg is Yzma one was interesting and pretty convincing, but there’s one thing. If we’re talking about the Disney universe, Hera didn’t want revenge because she was Hercules’ mom, so she couldn’t have turned him crazy.

In Hercules he jumps into the "Well of Souls" to save meg, which was an act of courage granting back his godhood, which prevented The Three Fates from cutting his "Thread of Life", If you pay close attention, you notice that the Scissors were chipped in the attempt to cut Hercules "Thread of Life" If you look closely, the same pair of scissors had a few chips in it prior to said events, which can mean, that another being or person was facing the same if not the similar Demise that Hercules was going through. Each time I see the film. That seems to always catch my eye, & makes me always question who chipped the scissors prior to Hercules.
I want to point out, One being the fact that The Three Fates should know the exact outcome of Hades & Hercules/Zeus pretty sure they keep track of all the souls (as shown) so they would know if Baby Hercules was "Dead" when Pain & Panic Lied to Hades about.
Pretty sure Hades is a god, & should of gotten out of the "Well of Souls" Just as easily as Hercules did, but that didn't happen.
Hercules film was suppose to be a cash grab that flopped, The idea behind it, was to seek out endorsements from athletes & possibly olympics/sport like companies, Take (Air Herc) for example, Action figures so on so forth.
I came up with this theory a while ago, it's a very compelling one if you think carefully enough about it so here it is. Elsa, from "Frozen", inherited her powers from the Ice Titan. The Ice Titan was destroyed along with the rest of his brethren many many years before Elsa was born, this is true, but what if they weren't really gone but instead lingered in some way until they found the ideal hosts for their power. Elsa seems to have near complete control over all ice and snow including snow storms, can construct structures out of ice, can freeze just about anything, and even Marshmallow has a few resemblances to the Ice Titan.
Another interesting Meg theory is that she could be an ancestor of Belle and Jane

I have a theory: Pain and Panic disguised themselves as the woman Meg's boyfriend left her for to lure him away and kill him. My reasoning is that Hades is made to seem more like the devil, because most people in the U.S. are more familiar with the concept of an evil ruler of the underworld than the neutral overseer of souls from Greek mythology. So, we have an easily identifiable villain in this movie. Staying true to the popular image of the devil, Hades would be a cheater. He made a deal with Meg to save her bf's life (from whatever peril he was in) in exchange for her soul. So now, he owned Meg. But, he didn't want to lose her bf's soul either, so he sent Pain and Panic to lure him away from Meg and kill him without her knowing. There would be little to no chance of Meg ever finding out because if she never heard from him again, she would assume that it was because her ex-bf wanted nothing to do with her anymore. Now, you could argue that technically Hades broke his deal and in turn Meg would have been freed from him, but we don't know the specific terms of the deal. Hades, who again would be a trickster in order to more resemble the devil, would have found a way to slip by Meg the deal of saving her bf's life *only from the danger he was in at the moment Meg was making the deal,* while Meg thinks that the deal covers him from any danger. Thus, technically Hades did keep his deal with Meg, so Meg is bound to be his servant potentially forever. The devil comes out as the only winner out of this deal.

Hercules happened centuries before the Incan empire was even off the ground, it is a story that is over 5,000 years old whereas the Incan empire was only a little more than a 1,000 maybe 2,000 years old when it fell. Plus we are talking about two sides of the world with no easy means of travel except through magic carpet

I feel like I should point out that Alcmene and Amphitryon were both great-grandchildren of Zeus, the former being the daughter of Perseus' son Electryon and the latter the son of Perseus' other son Alcaeus. Also, there are views that it was not as much infidelity as plural wives with Hera being the chief wife but it really doesn't apply with Alcmene due to Zeus having made a cuckold of his own great-grandson all in the name of fathering the predicted hero who would defeat the giants.

Here's a theory that I created back in 2019. Madagascar, Shark tale and Minions exist in the same universe. When 3 minions arrive to New York city, we see a ship that is Similar to one from the first Madagascar movie. Later on in Shark tale, an anchor comes out of no where and kills Frankie (Lenny's brother). And guess what happens after that? Penguins decided to make Ice cold sushi for breakfast, and sushi is usually made of fish meet. In that case, Frankie's meat could have been used so, Skipper and his comrades could be responsible for his death. What a crazy theory that I created!

The Yzma/Meg one is a stretch. It’s very creative but it doesn’t make sense that the story would suddenly follow actual Greek Mythology when Zeus and Hera are still the parents of Hercules in the Disney version.
Unless im crazy didn't all of Yzmas potions work exactly how they where supposed to? The only one that maybe didn't was the poison and that was because of a bad lable no fault of the potion, it was always a turn you into a lama potion.

Man they really changed Hercules for kids.
In the real story, Hera was EVIL and whispered into people’s ear and made them make Hercules CRAZY and he killed Megara, his wife. And Hades was chill and even helped Hercules. And Hercules never really cared about Olympus, but when he died, the Gods made him a god.
The only theory I don't agree on is the one about Meg and Yzma their stories don't seem relatable enough to seem like their one in the same.

About Zeus' benevolence... Well, the tale is told by the eyes (and voices) of the Muses, henceforth Olympian Godesses siding with Zeus. So... I would bet that the story is his perspective of the facts...
The Muses being daughters of Zeus by Mnemosyne, Goddess of Memory; so Hercules' half-sisters.

scar's cameo in hercules is a reference to the nemean lion which hercules killed as one of his twelve labors, and the skin of which he would wear as armour since no weapon could pierce it. interesting note: the lion's claws were used to skin it after herc knocked it out with a club and strangled it.

Hades by comparison to Neptune and Zeus was a pretty good guy. He was stern but very fair, did a job well and diligently that he didn't care for, had a pet three headed dog that may have been named Spot, and deeply and loyally loved his wife. Undeserved to be a villain!
The whole meg and izma story is a no for me but everything g else makes sense.
There's a lot to debunk here. For one thing when Yzma is singing about getting "revenge on the sun" she is being completely literal. Her entire plan in Kingdom was to summon Supay to blot out the sun. Yzma's potions do always work, she is just bad at labeling them, leading to Kronk giving Kuzco the wrong potion. Yzma and Meg are NOT the same person, I don't know where you're getting this theory from, but teenage Yzma looks nothing like Meg.
Finally, Neither Kingdom of the Sun or the actual greek mythology of Hercules are canon. KOTS was never actually made, and Disney's Hercules is blatantly an adaptation, meaning that things were changed (obviously), so trying to use facts from the far more adult mythology to back up a theory is in bad faith. In the movie Hera IS Hercule's mom, so she doesn't have an excuse to make him go crazy like in the original myth.

Hades became ruler of the underworld because Zeus gave him the job. Early in the movie Hades says to Zeus, "Unlike you gods lounging around up here I have a full time gig that you so charitably bestowed upon me."
I would like to also point out that you contradict yourself claiming Yzma is Meg. According to your theory Yzma never married but Meg married Hercules.

Actually, the idea of the hero and villain being similar is a very well used plot. Look at other hero villain combos:
Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader
Harry Potter and Tom Riddle aka Voldemort
Simba and Scar
Aladdin and Jafar
A lot of heroes and villains share the same ambitions and desires. The difference is their personalities and the way they achieve their goals, either through hard work patience and love, or through cunning, plotting and manipulation.
Notice that the villains tend to play the long game, planning for years before seeing their schemes come to fruition. Meanwhile the heroes live in the moment and have to constantly learn who they really are in order to grow.
It's quite fascinating actually.
Sometimes this is done physically where the Hero & AntiHero/Villain will look similar or have a similar origin. Superman & Zod are both survivors of Krypton's destruction, & this concept is latter applied to Goku & Vegeta in DBZ even though Vegeta's an Antihero for most of the series & full Hero in Super & GT. Sonic & Shadow are hedgehog rivals with similar capabilities, although Shadow's case is that after his own game he's a hero, while also an antihero before that. Spiderman & Venom is another good example. The similarity has to do with mirror reflections where 1 side is good & the other is more evil.

Well about why hades got the underworld.. In Greek mythology, after Zeus and the gods defeated Kronos (their father who ate them), they decided to split parts of the world up. They did some random numbers thing and zeus got the sky, posiedon the earth and the ocean while hades got the underworld. And yes, all the Greek male gods were playboys except Apollo, where after the loss of Daphne(his most beloved female) he swore on River Styx to never marry a female. Guess that clears it up

@@orcristWR My understanding is the "1rst, 2nd, 3rd, ect" with cousins is the number determines cousin to which gen. Like my grandma and her cousin are first cousins, which would be my dad's second cousin, which would be my 3rd cousin. And then when you get into "once, twice, three-times" removed, it's to what degree in the tree.
So my grandmother's cousin would be my third cousin, once removed because the relation is her mother's sister, so her aunt (my great-great-aunt) is only one degree away from my branch of the tree. Now I've some cousins in another country who are cousins to a cousin of my grandfather, then you start getting into the higher levels of "removed"
At least that's my understanding of it. Geneology is complicated.
