The trouser jeans are a great trend that I wore years ago because they work on my body type. The cropped wide leg jeans with heels don't look proportioned. They look best when the length is at the top of the foot.
Great videos Kay! When I retired 2 years ago I gave away 95% of my closet to charity. For the first time in my life I have the time/money to dress in a way that makes me feel good. Even wearing belts now! You make me look good. Thanks!
I have wider shoulders, and I am a size or two larger on top. I think wide leg pants are flattering for my figure type. I especially enjoy softer fabrics that move and flow in wide leg pants. I really enjoy this trend! A real bonus with denim is that pet fur doesn’t stick!
I’ll be one to stick to what I got as I am short at 5ft 2” but I love my jeans and I agree that the darker jeans are more flattering on me. Styles must come and go but I have learned to stick with what works for me. And really, that’s why I enjoy listening to you, Kay! ❤
It’s true about training your eye on a new fashion. I purchased a pair of ankle length denims a couple of years ago and at first I didn’t care for them. Now, I love wearing them.
Kay,you look stunning in the denim dress and nude booties! Love it! I am 71 and love adding some wider leg pants and jeans to my fall wardrobe.Enjoy all of your videos, but this one was especially good 😊 Have a lovely day,and keep helping us have fun with fashion and dress in a modern way.I was voted best dressed in my high school class if 1971,and I still find clothing to be a wonderful way to express our personalities and uplift our spirits!❤
I’ve always been a denim fan. It’s always in fashion in some form. I love that skirts are coming back and I love the cropped wide leg and dresses. Thank you!
I think one of the best pieces of info I’ve gotten from you is to “train your eye” with new styles. This is so true with wider leg jeans. It takes some getting used to but I really like them. They are definitely more work than a skinny jean. Fit, denim color, length & the drape of the denim all need to work but when they do I think they look great. I definitely do NOT miss skinny jeans and tunic tops. Thanks for all you do!
Great video. Thanks for the tips. I think belts are a great trend. They help identify a waist even if we think we don't have one!! Thank you for your inspiration.
Thank you for your fall trend ideas. Although retired, I still want to look my best. I wish youd feature more reasonably priced clothing. $250 jeans is way out of my league.
This is so helpful. I love looking at your styling ideas. I'm getting started on my fall wardrobe this week and I appreciate this. Thanks for your work.
Your JOY always shines thru! I thoroughly enjoy your Videos, Blogs etc. You aways say to pick the trends that suit us individually and i appreciate you show them all. I have never really cared for cropped pants and have skipped that trend. Now we have cropped, wide leg jeans. Don't these ruin the 1/3 to 2/3 magic ration?
My ankles are probably the least flattering part of my body so after several tries I’ve decided to stick with full length pants. I follow your suggestion and take a picture of myself in my full length mirror most days so can review them and decide what I think looks best on me.
I have been enjoying your wonderful ideas for six weeks. So happy that I found you on You Tube😊. The denim looks video is especially helpful. I am 5ft. 2in. 98 pounds so petites are needed but so difficult to find in modern looks. I could not find the petite ideas that you mentioned today. Thank you for what you do.
You should try a modified barrel jean. They are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. They give me a bit of shape, were as the wide leg give me quite a stumpy look. I am short and the barrel jeans cropped just above the ankle are very cute
My waistline has gotten thicker in last few years. Wearing a belt defines my waist and a decorative buckle adds character. As a girl from Alberta, the Canadian tuxedo reference made me smile 🇨🇦😉
Great video about trending denim clothes. All are so in style…and love wide leg jeans 👖 and pants!! Have pair of white wide legged jeans (frayed at bottom) which I have gotten compliments on. Finally found wide leg jeans in my petite size-very in style in all jeans and slacks. Not been able to find denim dress or skirt. Thanks for sharing!
As a tall woman (although getting shorter as the years pass🥴) who struggled to find long enough pants all through my teen and young adult years, I still think, “high waters!!” if I try on ankle jeans. 😊 These days, of course, “tall” is an option from many affordable brands-& my legs keep getting a wee bit shorter, so no more exposed ankles for me! Too-short sleeves are still often an issue…. (For some reason, my arms haven’t gotten shorter as I’ve lost height. Why is that?? I guess cuz they’re not hooked directly to my spine.)
You often say that older women should not try to look younger but instead focus on looking modern, which I agree with. If someone is committed to not buying because of the effects of overconsumption and overproduction, how do you suggest to look modern with your existing wardrobe (I.e with very limited shopping even if it is second hand shopping).
Good morning Kay, and thank you, for this great video. I love denim, and few years back, I bought a denim jacket, from Talbot’s, for you showed it on your video. Thank you for all you do, and May you have a great day. Bye now 🤗🥰👍❤️✨✝️🌻💫🙏
All very nice casual outfits. My problem is I look better with a higher round neck top. My neck is nice but I feel better since my mastectomy I am comfortable round neck top. I love what you are doing , thank you.
Love your channel beast I have found for me at 78. I love wearing my blue jeans now I have May options thanks to you. Kay, is my middle name is Kay and I resonate to your personality . ❤👏🏻🙏🏻
You are so right about trying out belts and adding a third piece. I actually looked slimmer with a belt and a jacket or cardigan. So...I tried on my stash of belts. Unfortunately, over the years in a box and they shrunk! 🤣 Imagine that! I'm purchasing a cognac and a new skinny black belt ASAP. 😍
For those who think they can't wear belts, try wearing one under a longer cardigan. It looks great, especially with a turtleneck sweater the same shade as your cardigan.
I agree with Kathy, wide leg jeans, do not look good on most women. Especially short women like me, I am 5'3" and high waisted. Make my legs look shorter. I am going to try on a dark wide leg trouser jean before I make my final decision. I do have a denim skirt and dress from last couple years that I will be wearing in dark denim, more flattering. I like belts with jeans. Looks more polished, agree with Kay on this. Wear them a lot.
Kay, I love this video! I have three denim jackets and several jeans but I do not have any dark jeans. I've got to find some and put them with a white blouse. Loved that pairing!
I'm age 73 and only 5 ft. 3" (and very busty (42 DD) which is very challenging for me as button down the front blouses just pull open and boxy jean jackets just make me look huge) and I LOVE denim and am always looking for denim items to add to my wardrobe. I have a "tummy" si i do have to wear my blouses our (not tucked in.) Sometimes I do find it difficult finding age appropriate items in denim. I do not see wide legs pants yet in my area yet but I am seeing straight leg jeans (vs. skinny jeans) and I have two pairs of those and I do like them. I also LOVE the puffer up vest and I have a navy one.
I love your video and style inspirations. Would it be possible for you to give a more affordable option?? I absolutely love the crop jean look with the white blouse and blush pink vest, however when I looked up the link items, that one look would cost $988 with the white tennis shoes. That’s way outside my budget for one outfit. Thanks so much!!
I shared a full range of jeans in a wide range of prices. It’s true that the best looking things often cost more, but there are plenty of more economical options that are also nice. I always do my best to share both. I do not have an economical alternative for that sweater vest however.
Thank you! Love all these looks. They are refreshing! I am glad the old style skinny jeans are gone. Unless done carefully they made woman look like a sausage. The wider leg jeans can be more dressy. I do keep my skinny jeans to wear with knee high boots.
Retailers make mistakes & overbuy , then still have to off-load their merchandise , even if it goes directly to clearance . Retail buyers are not always good at " predicting trends " & can totally miss the boat on the consumers'' needs & wants . Remember what happened after covid - stores were flooded w/ tons of " sale " merchandise while new contracted , pre-ordered merchandise was being delivered . Just because it's in a store ...
I agree--especially where they are cut above the ankle. They look good on NO ONE! It looks like one has been in a flood. At 75--tall at very trim--I go for straight relaxed fit that are not cropped.
I love the pop of red with the shoe. Once upon a time, that was one of my signatures. About 8-10 years ago I was told that red shoes was some sort of code for pedophilia. I have no idea if that’s true. I did look into it a little bit and while I wasn’t able 100% confirm it, there was enough of a question that I got thru away (not donate) all of my red shoes. I don’t want to be associated with that in any way. I’ve been thinking about getting a pair in bright pink or a rich yellow to get that same pop of color. 🤷🏻♀️
Love your look with the white button up shirt and straight leg jeans with the loafers. I will be sure to copy this version. Also love your shorter style of haircut. You are so classy looking. Debra
I will wear a belt with high waist jeans. But for anything else it draws attention to my chubby belly. I used to always tuck my shirts in. Not so much anymore. Maybe sometime in the future I will be able to. I love wide leg jeans. I’m not sure I look great in them. But they are comfortable. So I will wear them until they go out of style. I’m thinking about getting a denim skirt and dress. I just don’t wear dresses very much. So it may be a waste of money for me.
I’ve been watching your channel for awhile. I’m 5feet 4 and 70 years old and very young looking . Some people think I’m 40years old ,but I’m very long waisted, but I believe you are short waisted. Can You help me.?
Im sorry but if i wore most of these items,i would look 90 instead of 65. No disrespect to anyone this age. I were pencil skirts , and sometimes skirts to the knee with tights, and biker jacket. Obviously there are limitations to my fashion choices. Feeling comfortable and confident in my sixties.
Am I the only one who does not like those cut off wide jeans/pants? They cut the legs and make the legs look too short - no balance with the rest of the body.
Why? An Australian woman ( engineer) mass reproduces discarded fabric & plastics into building materials. She’s saving the planet. Spending $ is good for the economy.
The trouser jeans are a great trend that I wore years ago because they work on my body type. The cropped wide leg jeans with heels don't look proportioned. They look best when the length is at the top of the foot.
May I suggest that a short or cropped blazer looks much better with wide leg pants.
You’re such a blessing to me too. Thanks for your expertise.
You are so welcome 🤗
Great videos Kay! When I retired 2 years ago I gave away 95% of my closet to charity. For the first time in my life I have the time/money to dress in a way that makes me feel good. Even wearing belts now! You make me look good. Thanks!
I love what you are wearing in the intro. Fabulous 👌
Thank you! 😊
I have wider shoulders, and I am a size or two larger on top. I think wide leg pants are flattering for my figure type. I especially enjoy softer fabrics that move and flow in wide leg pants. I really enjoy this trend! A real bonus with denim is that pet fur doesn’t stick!
( But the vast majority of women are-not built that way. Happy for you, though! )
Fabric that’s pet hair repellent would be a gold mine!! 😂 3 dogs and 1 cat here.
Katherine Hepburn wore wide leg pants. You are right in style with a classic.
I love the denim dress, it will be great with knee high boots when the temps go down. Thank you !
I love that you dropped the ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ - it’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the thumbnail. Great video!
Love all the denim looks !!
Your great at putting clothes together.
Thanks for the ideas ❤
Thrift shopping provides me with Chicos, Ann Taylor, & many more excellent clothes creators. I LOVE your choices. ❤am 78 years old.
I’ll be one to stick to what I got as I am short at 5ft 2” but I love my jeans and I agree that the darker jeans are more flattering on me. Styles must come and go but I have learned to stick with what works for me. And really, that’s why I enjoy listening to you, Kay! ❤

I'm amazed at your energy and what you've all taken on. You are a wise business woman.
Thank you. That is kind. I’m always wiped out when I finish shooting these videos. 😉
Kay I love how you really explain things in addition to showing them…you are such a great source for keeping me in style…thank you so very much.
You are so welcome! 🤗 Thank you for watching.

Thank you for these great ideas! I'm so glad leopard print is back. I have so many leopard print shoes. You look beautiful as always 😊❤
I love love love your puffer vest with long black slacks over sneakers!!!
Thanks so much. That’s a favorite of mine too.
Great video. I love denim and wear it all the time. You look good in all the different styles and I love your hair.
Great looks! Thanks!😊
Thanks for watching!
Really like the demin dress with the ankle booties.
Love every look! I appreciate the beautiful way you styled it all!
Thanks for watching!😊
Great video. Thanks for the tips. I think belts are a great trend. They help identify a waist even if we think we don't have one!! Thank you for your inspiration.
Great video with awesome styles! Thanks, Kay, for always bringing a bright spot to my day! 😎

I really like the denim on denim look It’s sharp and slenderizing. You pull it off beautifully
I really enjoyed this video; thank you!!

Your denim dress looks beautiful, love it

😊
Your denim videos are always a hit with me!
Wonderful inspiration! Thank you for sharing as always, so well done and beautiful options. God Bless! 😊
I love wide denims and look fabulous. 52 and wearing it. From South Africa.
Love your new haircut!
She has a nice hairstyle but in my opinion a little longer hair looks better on her and makes her look younger.
You should try a modified barrel jean. They are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. They give me a bit of shape, were as the wide leg give me quite a stumpy look. I am short and the barrel jeans cropped just above the ankle are very cute

Thank you 😊
Loved the Demin segment. I want to know more about your newsletter and like?
Thanks, Kay! I’m excited to wear my new denim dress from Jude! It is so comfortable! The weather is still too hot.
Great video! Lots of inspiration 🤓

Thanks! 😊 I love wearing sneakers!

Thank you for your video. You are a blessing to us as well. By the time I decide to like cropped wide leg jeans, they will be out of style. L O L.
All very nice casual outfits. My problem is I look better with a higher round neck top. My neck is nice but I feel better since my mastectomy I am comfortable round neck top. I love what you are doing , thank you.

Don’t like heels with the shorter jeans but not a problem for me cause I no longer wear heels!
Great video, always get great ideas from you, thank you!
😊
I live in Canada with long cold winters and need some third layers but not sure what to buy or what colours to get. Can you do a video on that??
You are so right about trying out belts and adding a third piece. I actually looked slimmer with a belt and a jacket or cardigan. So...I tried on my stash of belts. Unfortunately, over the years in a box and they shrunk! 🤣 Imagine that! I'm purchasing a cognac and a new skinny black belt ASAP. 😍

Please give some ideas on how to wear blazers
Kay, can you please post the petite websites that you like? I did not see it. Thank you!
I love your video and style inspirations. Would it be possible for you to give a more affordable option?? I liked your hair a little longer. I think it made your face look a little slimmer and younger. Love everything you do. You are so pretty.
Could you tell me where to find your favorite petite list of jeans
I make items from upcycled denim. Looking forward to when wide legged jeans go out of style because they’ll give me more fabric than skinny jeans. 😏
🤣🤣🤣 / Good one . . . Love that creativity ❣️
Thank you! Love all these looks. They are refreshing! I am glad the old style skinny jeans are gone. Unless done carefully they made woman look like a sausage. The wider leg jeans can be more dressy. I do keep my skinny jeans to wear with knee high boots.
Hi Kay new subscriber great video thanks for the reference for petites, do you do makeup videos?
Thank you. I rarely do makeup videos but I actually published one today🙌🏻 ruclips.net/video/jtEiDSjnaxE/видео.htmlsi=ZAKcDfuVfzVj4uZw
I keep hearing skinny jeans are out, but they're still selling them and i still see them where i live, in the midwest.
I always have skinny jeans to wear with my tall boots. Straight leg jeans get too puffy if I try to tuck them in.
Retailers make mistakes & overbuy , then still have to off-load their merchandise , even if it goes directly to clearance . Where is the link for the dress you are wearing? I can find it.
Sorry about that. Here it is rstyle.me/+Ut9eR85zx9aqryXiuW54_g
I do not like wide leg cropped jeans at all.
Agree ! The wide leg + cropped really shortens the look ! One style alone is dumpy looking but the two together ... ' nuff said . 😅
I agree--especially where they are cut above the ankle. They look good on NO ONE! It looks like one has been in a flood. At 75--tall at very trim--I go for straight relaxed fit that are not cropped.
I don’t like them either. I think do not think they are flattering and I will pass.
Wide leg cropped cuts off legs. Yuck. Who wants to look fatter and shorter?
Sticking to straight leg jeans. The wide version makes me look fat.😮
Really like the wide legs better then the skinny jeans as we mature our mid section widens and our legs get thinner 😂
Thanks for sharing. I agree with you. 😉
❤❤❤
I love the pop of red with the shoe. Once upon a time, that was one of my signatures. About 8-10 years ago I was told that red shoes was some sort of code for pedophilia. I have no idea if that’s true. I did look into it a little bit and while I wasn’t able 100% confirm it, there was enough of a question that I got thru away (not donate) all of my red shoes. I don’t want to be associated with that in any way. I’ve been thinking about getting a pair in bright pink or a rich yellow to get that same pop of color. 🤷🏻♀️
Is this trend going into winter also?
Yes. 👍🏻
We used to call cropped pants “high waters”. They make even beautiful models look shorter and wider.
Beautiful lady
Front slit skirts are not my thing. Too big opening in the front.
Jeans don't need to be super skinny or very wife. A medium straight jean I think looks best on most women
No wide legs for short women!
I’ve been watching your channel for awhile. I’m 5feet 4 and 70 years old and very young looking . Some people think I’m 40years old ,but I’m very long waisted, but I believe you are short waisted. Can You help me.?
Will not wear wide jeans, I am short but not petite.
No ankle boots or sneakers with dresses and skirts: They distort the proportion of the leg and make it look stout and the wearer clumsy.
HI TRYING TO WATCH 49ER GAME?
Im sorry but if i wore most of these items,i would look 90 instead of 65. No disrespect to anyone this age.
I were pencil skirts , and sometimes skirts to the knee with tights, and biker jacket. Obviously there are limitations to my fashion choices.
Feeling comfortable and confident in my sixties.
I do not like wide leg jeans. I will stick to my skinny jeans. I think they look better on me.
Thanks for sharing. 😊
Am I the only one who does not like those cut off wide jeans/pants? They cut the legs and make the legs look too short - no balance with the rest of the body.
I’m sorry but anything denim, trousers at half mast and frayed edges are all no nos.
Really don’t like the ankle look! Looks like a kid that outgrew their pants 😅
All these new denim trends aren't good for sustainability for the planet.
