This was a great video! If you start your dryer and the drying light is blinking, but nothing is happening... this is probably the cause and this video does a great job of explaining how to change out that pulley. My dryer is a Samsung DV40J3000EW/A2 and the part he has listed in video description is the one I purchased and it is working perfectly. Thank you for helping me fix my dryer!
Thank you very much, woke up this morning and found the dryer not spinning, watched you video and found almost the same problem except the belt was still on the drum! Awesome video very helpful!
Followed this video on my Samsung dryer and it was perfect. It was the pulley in my case and on a Saturday when my wife normally does laundry. She had a heavy load ready to hit the dryer when it stopped working. Luckily I was able to put the plastic pulley back on the bushing after cleaning it with a penetrating oil. I will order the part and replace with new in a couple days. Much thanks to Bearded Appliance Repair!
Just took apart dryer, and sure enough pulley was broken, ordered belt and pulley with link provided for less than 20 bucks, glad I discovered this video, thanks for the info
This was a great help, thank you so much. Thanks to this video I was able to repair my dryer myself. Knowing just which screws to remove and how the pieces came off made it relatively simple. All it took in parts was the new tensioner pulley for under $10. Again I say, thanks.
Awesome video was able to take dryer apart easily step by step and found a sock and a bra pad stuck in the plastic turbine attached to the motor! One of my daughters forgot to put the filter back in before running the dryer! 👍🏼🤙🏽
I have a samsung gas dryer, 4 years old, DV48H7400. I was having some difficulty removing the lid using the putty knife. It seems I am exerting a lot more force than you did and with no success. Other videos have removing the control unit to lift the lid? Are all samsung lids able to be opened from the front like you demonstrate or is it model specific
Thank you soooo much I bought the pulley thru the link it should arrive in 2 days ... thank you so much I had my daughters looking at what I was doing... thay are amazed mom can now fix the dryer... with the help of a good instructor of course.☺️
I replaced both the pulley and the belt. The pulley had visible damage too it for sure. The belt looked fine but I replaced both anyway. The hardest part was definitely putting the belt back on. Unfortunately, I am still having the same issue. The dryer powers on, when you get to start a drying cycle the light next to drying still blinks. I have the same dryer as the one featured in the video. Is it possible I did not put the belt back on correctly? I've disassembled it twice now to make sure I had the belt on correctly. I even gave it a few turns and all seemed right.
I have the Samsung DV42H5000EW/A3 dryer. I was drying clothes during a thunderstorm when the power went out and now the dryer won't start. The control panel lights up but the unit will not turn on. I've read where there is no reset button on these units does the fuse need to be replaced?
Help!! Dryer was fine, we lost power for 3 days but dryer was not running at the time. When power came back pushed button to start - nothing. Drum belt is on fine, could it be the door switch? Thanks I advance 🤞🏻
If you get lights and it seems like it will start and it just don’t I would suspect your fuses are good. The idler pulleys on these tend to wear out. You’re belt can either be broken or not when the pulleys go out. This is the most common issue anyways. You may just find a broken belt. Take it apart to make sure before you order the parts.
Could be yes.. They are rare to go bad though. I usually replace fuses on the element and the elements them selves. That or you may have a broken belt or idler pulley broke. Take it apart and make sure before you purchase parts. If I had to put money on it I would say you have a broken belt and or idle pulley
Check voltage on the terminal block. You need 120vac on both live 1 and 2. If that's good most likely you have a bad motor and it needs to be replaced.

Hi, I have Samsung cloth dryer how to connections 3 wires for 220 volt
I have the same dryer. It powers up but won’t change any settings or start. It just beeps when I hit any button. Any clues? Control panel?

Did you ever get the problem fixed? I’m having the same problem
Question before I disassemble dryer...dryer wont start all I hear is a click sound, would the belt be the reason or a sensor/fuse?

My Samsung dryer display light started dimming untill I couldn’t see it anymore and then it just stopped working all together ?
My Samsung won't turn on is it the fuse

What if belt or tensioner isn’t broken. Everybody knows the easy fix

I can't believe you did this whole video and didn't include putting the belt on the pulley...
It's in another video link in the description below this video.
