After doing this in April 2023 on a 6 year-old dryer, one thing to note: if you notice the belt is still too loose/has no tension when putting the drum back in place, this video doesn't make explicitly clear that you have to pull the pulley arm all the way above the motor shaft and put tension on the spring so that you can loop the belt around the pulley and onto the motor. After releasing the arm, the spring tension keeps everything snugly in place. Otherwise, very helpful video!

Thank you Roland for the excellent video tutorial! Our 6 year old dryer wouldn't start, a week to the day we were scheduled to leave the country on vacation. Your step-by-step instructions were great! The Idler Pulley Wheel was chewed almost in half, down to the axle. Getting OEM parts was more challenging.
One CAUTION! - When reaching blindly into and under the drum to position the drum belt, be very aware that the exposed metal edges are treacherously sharp.
I sliced the back of my right hand after pushing the Idler Pulley Arm up to thread the drum belt. While straightening/untwisting the belt, the back of my hand was cut by the Heater Element Housing Duct. I reached in to the lower left of the Heater Element Housing, rather than above as you did in your video.
Fortunately I was able to succesfully repair the dryer and my injury.
    Thank you!

Glad you fixed it yourself, Too bad about the cut though, yes there are some sharp metal in there.

I was able to take the dryer apart as per your instructions, and replace the pulley assembly without an issue. Luckily, I live in the city and was able to get the part at the parts store. Thanks! Your video was a huge help and gave me the confidence to tear into it today. I had the same pulley wheel problem and mine was filthy with lint. I plan to re-seal in a few key areas, such as foil tape around the blower duct connection and blower wheel cover. Any other ideas on how to keep lint in the filter box? I could not get the door switch connector unplugged and ended up taking the switch apart. This gave me access to the switch contacts so I cleaned those with an eraser. Replacing my drum wheels and belt as well. Surprisingly the belt looks mostly fine and would probably work for a long time but found a crack starting at the factory seam. Looking forward to getting it back up tomorrow.

Pro tip, there is a small hole on the idler arm that lines up with a hole in the idler arm mounting surface. Aline the two holes and place a 3/32 allen key in them, this holds the idler arm in place making it easier to put on the drum belt. Once the drum’s belt is in place remove the allen key, there will be tension on that key so you might have to relieve some of that tension by pulling forward to remove the allen key.
