Thank you so much !! From someone who doesn’t know a lot about computers and was still able to upgrade to windows 11 by following your clear and precise instructions!
Hi, i really enjoyed your video, thank you for that! I just wanted to add that the Keyboard und Touchpad will just start working after all updates have been downloaded. That kept me struggling for a while. Thanks and stay tuned!
Thank you very much! It worked like a charm. I upgraded my Surface 9 Pro from Windows 11 Home to Pro by adding pid.txt with the Pro Key to the sources folder. Keep up the good work.
Hi All I went for it and it worked on my Surface Pro 5 with 24H2 just followed this video and just used the 24H2 iso and it work for me as now using it to update form my last comment.
I found your video thanks to Secure Boot ruining my user accounts on my Surface Pro 7 after simply plugging in my Ventoy drive (didn't try to boot at that time, but I have other files on the USB). BitLocker turned on automatically after triggering Secure Boot, got passed that, but now it's having me reset my passwords (but I get an "Can't verify your credentials" error). It's good to know that I could still do a fresh install after all is said and done (wasn't sure if Surface Pros were different from Desktops/Laptops in this regard).
thank you very, very much. I followed the steps exactly in the video. I installed Windows 11 on my surfacePro 5 device. All updates have been installed. I downloaded the drivers from the microsoft website and added them.
Same as others :-) I'm grateful for your effort. I had gost / phantom touches on my Surface Pro 4 on the right upper corner on Windows 10. I know it's not HW but SW issue because no ghost touches in the BIOS settings screens. Disabling touch drivers helped but with lost touch functionality. Now with Windows 11 23H2 all is working properly. I need to check your battery video now. Not sure if I should do it or not yet. Currently I'm running it on old battery safe setting in BIOS with 50% limit, not to get the battery swollen. Thanks again! :-) I really hate throwing away good things like my Surface Pro 4, because of "small issues".
i dont understand why you need to do any of that, just create a rufus win 11 pendrive, on the install choose not to install updates as it seems to wreck the install, and it works
@Tefl-DUde: Good video explaining into details. Can you upload a surface pro 8 23H2 image (preferable Dutch language based) on your Google Drive so we can download it straight from it?
Thanks for your video, really great tutorial. There have been no more firmware and driver updates for the Surface Pro 5 since January 13, 2024. Does installing Windows 11 change anything or does it have nothing to do with each other?
My surface pro was stuck in a boot loop and would stay stuck with the surface pro logo forever - it would never boot into the OS. I followed your instructions to a “T” and the one issue I’m running into is the tablet not entering into BOOT/UEFI mode when following the instructions. Nothing happens. I hold down the buttons as you mentioned and the BOOT window doesn’t load. If the OS is corrupted and I want to reinstall windows 11 using the boot disk you walked us through what are my next options??
@Tefl-DUde: Please help: After settinge the correct settings (in Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:"H:\Deployment Image\install.wim" /SWMFile:"H:\Deployment Image\install.swm" /FileSize:4000) I get an DISM error 32 The proces has no access tot hie file as it is in use by another process. How to fix it? I Googled it but no solution.
Hi I don't know if anyone else has said this but when using the powershell command, it's not neccessary to use the commands cd\ then the second cd\... because the full path is specified in the DISM command. Also, minor but it bugged me, \ = backslash and / = forward slash. Also, why make it fat32? I don't see the reason.
Dear Sir, Rufus says 'This image is not bootable or uses an unsupported boot or compression method.' I have done everything as you have demonstrated. It is a Surface Pro 9 and Windows 11 Pro. What can I do now? Please help.
Hi Tefl-Dude! I have a Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10 Pro and got to the Installing Windows page. And get through copying files, Getting Files Ready, Installing Features, Installing updates then it goes to the restart page but brings me back to Windows Setup page, ie. Language, Time, Keyboard ... Next and Install Now (Groundhog Day). I've been through it 5-6 times with no breakthrough. Any thoughts?
@@TeflDude Thank you very much; I got it going. Didn’t realize it was done after several attempts and giving up, I turned the machine off pulled the usb drive and it started me through the initiation process to Win 11 Pro and I just bought a 2016 pro version of MS Office. As the previous accolades attest, you do great instructional videos. I hope you are being compensated somehow! All the best to you in 2024 and beyond - in all your endeavors, vince
The process worked flawlessly until system updates. I got most of them done, but the final 8 are stuck with either "can't install while other updates are in progress" or "download error 0x80248014". Have you seen this yet?
You cannot bypass the open using microsoft account or install on non-specified hardware to install windows 11 on models earlier than surface pro 6 - if you use media creation tool.
Hi Tefi, thks for your video, I could Install Win11 at Surface 9 sucessfully with dual boot one partition witch win11 for work and and other with win11 for personal use. I only had one problem, I needed a USB keyboard and download the drivers and firmware from another computer since you don't have drivers for the Wi-Fi or the keyboard.
Hello i installed as you install and its work but wifi driver not installed and touch also not connecting to the internet what i do surface 9 pro 2023 edition
Step by step very clear language. Thank you. However. though have tried several times, when time to use Rufus for iso file in Documents, Rufus does not allow me the FAT32 option. Have tried several times.
check out my new instructions pdf drive.google.com/file/d/1PBPSrHPngdO_o5vTuOqC488HaGjnJl9E/view?usp=sharing and also here is a link to an iso file which has already been converted to fat32 drive.google.com/file/d/1qSCHQPzP7cNmYdN2aQUjG89HYsT4aQPm/view?usp=sharing so now you can just input it into rufus and choose fat32

why not just install the english version the you can download the dutch packs for free and change it to the language that way
please help in my sources folder the name of the large file is not ''install.wim'' it is install.esd, what should i do?
replace ''install.wim'' with install.esd, in text

to activate the license does windows recognize the machine automatically, in case i need to put the key, how do i get the key before the reinstall?
Hello thank you for this tutorial but i find after successfully installing win 11 on my sp 5 my camera or ir sensors not working what to do😢
Hello, great video 📸. I just had installed the OS and did update, however the mouse buttons don't seem to respond. Any solution to this?
What has a mouse got to do with surface pro? Buy another mouse.
What if you have an older surface pro ? I can't seem to get to boot of a DVD over USB. I can't get in that Bios menu. The screen is broken its hard.

sometimes you have to reboot to get some of the updates - I think there is some kind of order - basically try, try and try again.
@@TeflDude I've been trying for the last couple hours and I can't find a fix. The diagnostic tool tells me there's an issue but can't fix it.
If we are on a supported surface device what advantage does this have over the media creation tool?
You cannot bypass the open using microsoft account or install on non-specified hardware to install windows 11 on models earlier than surface pro 6 - if you use media creation tool.
Have you had any issues on your device? It sounds like we have the same surface so I just want to make sure things are working as they should.
it works perfectly, and I did not even install the driver from microsoft yet
Are these instructions suitable for installation on Microsoft Surface Go (2018)?
Do you know if the Android subsystem in Windows 11 will work on the surface pro 5?
I do not see why not. Sure
Hi, i'm using same Refus version 4.3.2090 but there is no file system Large Fat32, only Fat32. can you please advise?

@@TeflDude but in your video, it show Large fat32
Thanks a lot.
Does windows 11 runs smoothly on surface pro 5?
I don't want to install windows 11 on my surface pro 4 and see delays , .....
works perfectly for me last 2 years
Will I be able to sign in to my microsoft account after the setup and updates?
yes
Great job
