What are you running on your Surface Pro 3?
Windows 10
8.1 it runs best on 8.1 and always will
ghost spectre 10
@@wire731how bro my laptop got in bios loop any trick
Windows 10 and I'm just going to wait until MS finally kills windows 10 security updates. I still have until October 14, 2025. Hopefully the device itself survives that long. xD
Great content and video. Appreciate the no-nonsense approach, easy to follow guide, and links. Going to throw this at my Surface Pro 4 and see what happens.
Does it work for surface 4pro
@@SwarKotkar yeah it worked on my surface pro 4. No issues.
I did this with my core i3 SP3, runs great with transparency effects disabled!
I just installed Tiny 11 on my Surface Pro 3and wow its a brand new PC.
Super fast and responsive. I was going to purchase a new PC but I'm so glad I didn't and installed Tiny 11.
Great Video.
Is the SSD faster on Tiny11? Mine is quite slow on windows 10. I got the i7 512GB variant of the SP3.
Thanks!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
@@Eevnos youre video always helpful... Keep creating content like this
I don't see why we always have to open an account just to download a file. If you want to give people free download, just make it free. Shame on you people.
Thanks for this info/tutorial! My old SP3 has now been resurrected. Do you think this would would work on an SP4 as well? Thanks again!
Thank you for the video. I recently upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10. It looked as though you did a new install using the special boot to the thumb drive. I am wondering if thise will work as an Upgrade to my Windws 10 install. Or do I need to do a clean install as well?
I installed this on a old Thinkpad T440s. Its super fast!
I don’t have a Surface Pro 3, just a plain old Surface 3. But, I will say what I’m running on it.
I’m currently running the Windows 11 Insider Preview on the Dev channel (since it has official support from Microsoft by doing so)
I debloated the install using some simple guides, and it actually can handle some light multitasking, video playback, social media, and web browsing now, unlike with both Windows 10 and Windows 11 by default.
It’s probably one of the best combinations for official software support and retaining all proper drivers without installation.
Fantastic, that's great to hear.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
how??? I wanted to do it on my machine. I have the surface 3 as well
1:35 with Rufus, the only difference is that the portable version saves its settings to a file in the same directory
The standard version does not require installation (I believe it’s been like that since version 2.0)
In fact, the portable version is LITERALLY just the executable of the standard version, renamed to include the letter p in its name (the letter p is what tells it to start in portable mode, which it will also do if it detects a settings file in the same directory)
Also, you may notice Rufus will only list USB flash drives by default (with the exception of ones that present themselves as “fixed” drives, which are not shown unless you enable the option to list USB hard drives)
Do you have a video updating hardware on older surface pro model with newest tech (as processor or graphic card etc)?
Hey Eevnos, I followed your video, it was smooth and everything is faster now and the Type Cover works great. The only issue is the touch screen isn't working. I installed all the updates and the surface app. I also checked the drivers and nothing is missing or disabled. I'm not finding much help online, any guesses?
@Eevenos you alright? It’s been 5 months.
does touchscreen and the pen still work?
I can't get the installation menu to come up when i hold down the power+volume down buttons
After I installed the updates as you suggested, It reinstalled most of the bloatware, ie, solitaire, spotify, whatsapp, linkedin, xbox, etc.
Been running this for a while and its great, but recently i needed to use the camera and it can't be found. So far I haven't been able to find a solution
how about for sp4 m3 version, do you have that tutorial too?
I still have windows 8.1 on my SP3. Will this act like an update or a clean install of windows? I guess what I’m really asking is will I need a windows 11 key?
Thank you for this content. I have a Surface Pro 9 but could not afford 16GB RAM so have the 8GB iteration.
I see this as a lower spec (albeit expensive) machine so this will definitely come in handy! 👍🏾
hey, i have the surface pro 5 with m3-7y30 cpu, would that improve my surface ? it is also the basic version with 4gb of ram and 128gb storage
Finally bricked my tablet SP3 following this and deleted the recovery drive. Stuck in TPM mode. After starting with windows 10, cooking my tablet, regressing it back to Windows 8.1,, with shit Wi-fi settings ...
can u pls help me with exit code 9 on my minecraft chromebook
Hey you yeah you remember when you said on how to download roblox on a chromebook It don't work for me it only gives me the mobile port
Hello, I have a surface pro 3 and I would really like to install this OS, but I am a little afraid of losing my data, is it possible to do the update while keeping the applications and files already present as a simple update? Or do you necessarily have to do a Cleen install? Thank you in advance for your response.
Backup everything to an ssd
Any way to run android in iPhone by some open source software or emulator????????🎉
I was looking for an opinion about Tiny11 & how to install it. Will the reboot process be the same for all Windows computers?
Do you mean to boot off the USB?
If so it'll be different depending on the machine you're using.
@@Eevnos that's what I meant, thanks!
If there was a way to do this on my Surface RT
Nope, as all Windows RT devices are based on the ARM32 architecture (I think) which Windows 11 and 10 both do not officially support
Those RT devices were complete trash..... You were only able to run office on those...
@@CtrliPhones There is a leaked dev build of Windows 10 for ARM32 which you could install on these with some jailbreak skills
Hi will this work in SP2? And do I need to wipe w10 first before install?
Your best shot is a few specific linux distros and even they aren't as good
When I try to install tiny 11 it says I need to do something about bitlocker
Nvm I got it working it’s fine now but one problem I got is with the ram usage I have 4gbs on ram and I have 100mbs with one app
what about suface pro 2
Someone should revisit the Surface Pro 2, I really like it's 16:9 screen.
Me too
Does windows hello the face recognition part
still work?
Hey there, unfortunately the Surface Pro 3 does not have the IR camera so it's not compatible with Windows Hello.
Is the serial number for windows 11 required ?
It should get it from the UEFI
I run normal 11
but the Keyboard then doesn't work. Keyboard only works on its original Windows 8 OS.
Would this work with a Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6? Obviously want to keep S Pen and keyboard support. Would Samsung update get these drivers if needed?
and how would you stop Windows Update refilling the bloatware?
lol...
You dont need a account on internet archive
Can you please help? i did everything you said in the video and now i dont have a wi-fi option. how can i get it back?
Probably needed a wifi driver. You can payload it the same way with ur flash drive.
Will this work on the surface pro 2?
Most likely will, but I don't have a Surface Pro 2 to test with.
@@Eevnos definitely going to have to try it when I get back from Florida
@@bobbydigital7062 let me know how it goes man.
@@Eevnos yes, found it in the garage buried in many moving boxes, been wanting to upgrade from that lame windows 8 OS for years on that useless device, and it was no longer supported for windows updates, looking forward to trying it when I get back... That computer was just complete trash... Will be totally cool if it works...
i have the non r version. can i install it as well?
First
me, who plans to use linux
I did this and had to re purchase my product key :(. I just went and reinstalled windows 10
i installed macos somona on mine instead lol
STEP 1: Install a bloatware free OS.
STEP 2: Install Bloatware Edge. 🤣🤣🤣
This made my computer completely unusable. Do NOT do this.
My surface pro 3 screen had blind spots on certain corners within 5 months. I turned off the touch screen after the first year of owning it. Used it for a couple of years after.... bought it when it was new finally bought myself a nice hp for about 500 and it's nothing too special but it'll be ten times better than this surface pro
So on topic! Who gives a f. This is about Surface pro.
@@AmaCem bro just wanted to vent. xD
THE SURFACE SERIES SHOULD ONLY RUN WINDOWS 8.1 EXCEPT FOR THE LAPTOPS
