    Its nice to see them working on the trails and doing repairs. I cant wait to get up there and ride. Thank you for updating me on the other video about how they are handling it. If my dumb butt would have watched this video first I would have seen they were using UTV's for transit.

      @Oper8or You're most welcome. I'm looking forward to them opening all the trails in a few weeks.

    Cyclocross bike trails? It would be nice to see more interesting trails there.

      This is a work in progress. Their focus is to install a new ski lift this summer. Due to that work the bike trails are taking a back seat.
      On their website Ober says only these 5 trails will be open with no expectation for the others -obermountain.com/downhill-mountain-biking/

    not even half trails and people standing on trail clueless? crazy

      They opened 30 minutes late and a few of the crew were still on the trails. Correct, less than half the trails are open. Around 3pm, the other riders on the mountain called it quits and I had it to myself. That was awesome.

    I hope they have add real gnar instead of this IMBA shit with 1’ drops and laughable “black” rated trails. Uncle chucks looked like a green trail 😂

      Uncle Chucks doesn't have any drops. It's steep with a few roots in places and when it's slick it's much more fun so choose a day after it rained hard. I wouldn't give it a green rating - 'aqua marine' possibly.

      @@AppalachainMTB right on I just hope they utilize their terrain and build some really good trails for “experts” being that most of the trails are for beginners. If they do that they will attract a lot of mountain bikers and it could become an epic destination. It just seems to me the park appeals to more tourists that have either little experience or haven’t rode a downhill park before. Regardless I just wish there was more singletrack in the pigeon forge/ Gatlinburg area…. They have a world full of untapped potential to lure mountain bikers of all levels.

      @@Couffee Agreed. We need more single track in this area to be sure.

    This place is a joke. Much better money and time investment to go somewhere like RideBHM, Jarrods, or Windrock. All these places have shuttles and actually have real bikepark trails

    • @AppalachainMTB
      @AppalachainMTB  Месяц назад

      Jarrods and Windrock are proper downhill locations to be sure. Ober is catering to the 'lets see what mountain biking is about' crowd. I'd love a Jarrods competing right in this area. Would be so epic.

      @@AppalachainMTB thats fine, but the park shouldnt be marketing itself as something that its not. It was marketed as Tennessees first ski lift style bikepark, but the trails look more tame then stuff you can find at state parks. Also go check out RideBHM. It deserves way more attention.

      What's the plans on opening the rest of the trails?

    • @AppalachainMTB
      @AppalachainMTB  Месяц назад

      @@larryhamel7880 Ober is focusing on getting their new ski lift installed. The rest of the trails have the new ski lift poles in them. So they have to re-route all the trails once that's done.
      The only trail that doesn't have a pole in it is Hellbender, but there still isn't an expected time to open.
      Long answer longer - not likely this year.

    • @AppalachainMTB
      @AppalachainMTB  Месяц назад

      @@larryhamel7880 no plans for this year. There is a chance Hellbender may open in a few months, but that's not certain. No other trails are likely to open as Ober is focused on installing the new lift and the poles are being put in on the existing bike trails.
