We stop by Pigeon Forge 2 months ago in our way back from Indianapolis. We didn’t have any idea about attractions or places to visit… Now im planing our trip back there and im here looking at your channel with all the information we need…. Just one question how far is Gatlinburg from Pigeon Forge?
This is my hometown and it has been destroyed by tourism, all the houses within 45 mins are millions of dollars, all of the locals have been pushed out and tourists are buying the beautiful land and cutting it all down to build air bnb's it is so sad to see it now. They have to hire people from other countries to come and work because few locals can afford rent in the area or want to make the commute
I sure miss the old Gatlinburg. We used to go in off season back in the 80s and 90s and it was a ghost town. I'm local and haven't been in years and try to avoid the area now as it's so touristy. Neat to see what all is changing constantly without having to go. My favorite part is the Mountain Mall. Not much has changed and is reminiscent of old town. If you go to the second level, you can see two pictures of what Gatlinburg was back in the day. Great aerial photo to check out.
I moved here a little over 20 years ago, and all the changes even to me is sad. Its so touresty, i dont go anywhere any more.. I have never been a fan of traffic. So.
Yes I agree, I miss when it was just a town, and not a touristy destination like it is now. It's really sad how much it is really changed over the years. I went last year and was very disappointed with everything. A few things were still there, but not a lot, mostly attractions now.
Ryan, this was the most comprehensive video of things to do in Gatlinburg that we have ever seen on RUclips! There were a few things that we had not seen, so we really appreciate you taking the time to summarize all the highlights of things to see and do!
we were there this 4th 2024. It was crowded and Brutal Hot ! Crazy Mason's was the place to be. We did the Zip Line @ Anakeesta....So Awesome ! We stayed at the Greystone Lodge, awesome place, but they have a No Meat Breakfast ?
Check out the Foothills Parkway in Wears Valley (Townsend) if the leaves have changed. Also, The Park Grill (the sweet potatoes are a must), The Alamo, De Lauder's BBQ and Flapjacks for a good breakfast. Fall is a good time to spot bears before they hibernate. Lock your vehicles and don't leave any food inside them. Bears can F up the inside of a car easily.
Yeah, I was tempted to go to the beach or go to Gatlinburg but after watching your video it’s like there’s nothing to do that doesn’t cost under $20-$30 per person. They can go spend four or five days at the beach and don’t cost me 100 bucks. Screw that place.
Your videos are the best! Super helpful before we planned our trip last spring. I am addicted to seeing whats new so we won't miss anything the next time we head to the area. Thanks bunches ! ❤❤❤
Great video of things to do in Gatlinburg. A video on elk viewing in Cherokee, NC would be awesome. I've talked to people who say they've wanted to see elk for years and don't know where to go or what time to go. Dawn and almost dusk at Oconaluftee Visitor Center and mountain farm museum is the best place for viewing. My wife and I drive through the Great Smoky National Park from Gatlinburg to Cherokee (1 hour drive) every October just to watch the elk emerge from the mountains and gracefully cross the river to graze in field by visitor center. It is also rut season - sight to behold. You'll know you're in the right area when you see the crowd of people pitching their chairs and cameras on tripods waiting for the elk to appear.
I would like to see a video of places to stay in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, & Sevierville. It would be so nice to have that to use for a reference . Your videos are very well done and have been very helpful to us. Thank you & God Bless!
Love your videos but for me ....this is the best one yet. We'll be in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area for 4 days in October, so this is very, very handy for me. Looking forward to your food one too. Interested to see the buses as parking is really expensive. You did a vlog from the waterpark and I loved your water shoes - where did you get them? 🏴
Wow...thanks Stevie! We hope you have a wonderful time in Gatlinburg Tennessee in October! I can't find the vendor I bought them on Amazon. I would just search there for top rated with good reviews.
Definitely a good place to empty your pockets in a hurry. Everything is so expensive in Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. It was probably a nice quiet little mountain town before the tourist traps were set.
I love your videos 🥰 thank you much 🙏💯 very descriptive and you can actually view stuff wonderfully. I'm subscribed and will stay subscribed as long as you put out videos. Very thankful for you all 🙏💯
Thanks Melissa, we are glad to have you join our adventures & appreciate your support! We hope this helps other families coming to The Smokies know wha they can do in Gatlinburg Tennessee this summer!
Another very informative video….I’m thinking it will bring a significant increase in views much like what’s new in Sevierville & Pigeon Forge….I had dropped this suggestion under your live but I’m not sure you saw it? Perhaps not a good idea but I will try it again in case you just did not see it….until we had to give it up last year most of the trips Vivian & I took were in our RV….perhaps it is because it just does not bring the views but I have never understood, with so many folks coming there to camp, why Smoky Mountain Vloggers do not profile the many nice places to camp/RV? We would have been very interested! We found one of the very best RV Parks in the country on Douglas Lake, called Anchor Down….owned by Chad & his wife & run by his daughter Jessica & her husband Brandon….these are some very fine Christian folks….we attended a number of their Sunday services in the park….might be a great place for you to test it out for viewers & I assure you you will be the better for coming to know them…If you tell Brandon the Jim & Vivian from Missouri, who came for month long stays sent you, I believe he will remember us without a last name….I believe the RV community of folks will appreciate it🙏🏻☺️
Thanks Moose Man! I would love to do a top 10 RV resorts video, we just don't have an RV so our experience is limited. I copied your info you shared and will try to look them up. Perhaps I could set up a virtual tour of their campground...appreciate your help!
My Family and I will be visiting the End of April. This video is so helpful and interesting. Now I know how to plan our activities. I'm so excited and can't wait to visit. THANK YOU
Great video! I didn't realize there were so many things to do and see, along with places to eat around Gatlinburg. I like that you walked the length of it and pointed out a lot of the places that are also on Google Maps, it gives a good perspective of the layout and character of the area. Being from CA I have always wanted to visit Gatlinburg with the family, but I could not convince them to go. Now that my wife and I are divorcing it looks like it may just be me, which is okay with me.
My husband is kin to Martha Jane huskey ogle. We have traced the family back to her and two brothers. This partial cabin has been moved several times. We usually visit all the gravesites like white oak flats behind the stores there.
Been going to Gatlinburg since 2017. It's nice, clean, friendly and peaceful. Stay with Elk Springs Resorts. Nice mountain cabins and won't break the bank. If you're going in the Fall, when the leaves have changed, travel the Foothills Parkway. I can suggest places to eat or visit.
Places to eat...DeLauder's BBQ, The Park Grill (get sweet potatoes), The Alamo, The Peddlar, and the Mexican food truck in the Wears Valley food truck Park. Flapjacks has amazing Reeses 🥞. Also, across from Hungry Bear 1 on Parkway, nice little river to get some beautiful pictures. Have a good weekend.
This is the first video introduction that I have watch to Gatlinburg! I'm heading there next weekend. I'm excited. thank you for all your efforts putting this together.
Ryan, again a great video. I would so love to do things in Gatlinburg but am unable to do much walking and certainly not uneven pavement or hills. So few parking areas and most are expensive . Any suggestions for someone with mobility issues to be able to enjoy any of Gatlinburg?
TRUMP STORE!!! How did you not put that in this video?!!! I’m totally visiting there this weekend, and I will be going directly to THE TRUMP STORE!!!!! 🇺🇸
Your videos are very helpful as we plan our first visit to the area. It would be helpful to know what day of the week you filmed a video to get an idea of whether these are weekday or weekend crowds. Thanks for doing these videos!
Glad to hear they are helpful Lynn! This was on Tuesday June 6th. I would say any weekend or holiday will be busy. If I were planning a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee, I might do the things in town/Pigeon Forge during the weekdays while most people are at work if possible and have down days at the cabin/hotel on the weekends. I hope this helps!
Awesome video. First time visitor coming up next week. Had the following questions for you: 1. What in your opinion is the best mountain coaster experience? 2. For Anakeesta and specifically Astra Lumina, is that best to do at night or during the day it is an equally good experience?
Thanks Chad! Goats on the roof is great and we really like the wild stallion (full video on our FB page). Astra Lumina is best when the sun is fully set. Here is a guide on it: ruclips.net/video/QiJaRgnZWRc/видео.html
Not real time, walking was editing out to keep the video length reasonable. Everyone is different, but I can walk the strip from one end to the other in not too long of time without much difficulty.
1st time going to Gatlinburg in August can u make a video of parking lot prices I know u showed the log cabin where parking lot is behind it. How much is it to park behind cabin. Thanks for your time and help
@@AdventureIsOutThere awesome your channel and family is cool and also helping people we love your channel u all have more details information than anyone else there. Again thanks and God bless
I moved to East Tennessee from New York in November. I have a DJI Mavic 3 Cine and I’m looking to get more experience and established work out. Would love to collaborate with you guys and help incorporate some aerial footage and photos into your content. I’m a federally licensed drone pilot and willing to work for free. Would you possibly be interested?
I had Guy's Chicken while visiting last month. The tenders look and taste straight out of the frozen isle, edible, but the fries and sauces we're worth it. Oh, the Gatlinburg Trail is a must to escape the downtown hustle. 2 miles and takes you to the Sugarlands Visitor's Center.
Love this....want to go mabey closer to Christmas time for the Christmas beauty!!!! Love look of the city and i will be making stops at some of these places just off what you showed ....thanks!! Subscribing 👍
The Alcatra Museum in Pigeon Forge is cool. The Hollywood Car Museum on the Parkway in Gatlinburg is interesting. Cooter's Place in Pigeon Forge for the Dukes of Hazzard fans. Smokey Mountain Knife Works (have darn near any knife you could think of) with guns in the bottom floor.
looks like a beautiful place to live, but I keep seeing these video from some guy who tows their cars away and he makes money off of them and videos. I don't want to come and park in the wrong spot and end up being in this guys video and I can't do anything about it. NO thank you. Come to my area, we have free parking no guy trying to make videos off of you. I live in Central Pa, and we have Gettysburg. This place seems like the people are mean.
There are numerous designated parking garages/lots. We have lived here for 6 years and have never had parking issues in Gatlinburg (I parked for free at a community park upon filming this video) & have met so many nice people in the area. Most people who end up on his videos are ones that disregard signs trying to avoid paying a $10 city garage fee.
@@AdventureIsOutThere IDK, most of them say there was no signs. I am not going to chance it. I enjoy my privacy too much to have it ruin my vacation and have to spend even more. Thanks but no thanks. Come here, we have Hershey Park, Knobles Grove and FREE PARKING!! IDK, those videos turn me way off for that area., there is just too much of that stuff going on that you don't even know if they are doing it on purpose just to make videos and I would end up worrying about my granddaughters and grandson. Good luck. I PASS
Are you just walking when you did the tour? I was just thinking cause im planning for our trip and want to know if everything is walking distance cause i heard parking is expensive
Thank you so much. Your video hit on so much, and great variety for someone that has never been there. My son and I are coming down in two weeks. Can’t wait!
What a holiday destination, they have everything "to do" in Gatlinburg, Tennessee (GT) which gives one possible tourist attraction for the locals and visitors - AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR MUSEUM, as they already have the luxury cars and the "Star Cars" attraction, a collection of immaculately restored mustangs, corvettes, camaro's, T-birds, barracudas, superbees, pontiac's, plymouth's, GTO's, GTX's, etc. Americans and Latin Americans absolutely love classic American Muscle Cars, the "Museum" would be a favorite among the "visitors" and "locals". A "Car Club" can then emerge, with people in the General Area (within 3-4 hours drive) could actually "keep" their muscle cars there at the Museum, and "all the running costs" like upkeep, maintenance, registration, insurances etc. could be recovered by the Museum, and the owners can actually take home the cars for say "half the time" and then leave it in the "Museum" for "half the time" - You could have a hot-rod, or muscle car collector, with say 2 or 3 cars, who can drive there with 1 car, leave that car, pick-up the "other car", and drive home, all within an easy Sunday Cruise. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If the Museum is "popular", owners can get a Fuel Voucher for the Sunday Drive. Entry Costs? $20 adults, kids free. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Ditto in places like Los Angeles, Silicone Valley, Las Vegas, San Diego, Miami, Texas, New Orleans, Utah & Phoenix. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Ryan, amazing video I showed my family as I’m thinking about relocating to that area of TN. Would you happen to know any real estate agents or contractors?
Sorry been busy with family & work, will do asap! Here is one top 10 list we did put together so far: ruclips.net/video/fPrdx_0uEPw/видео.htmlsi=dEmapn3MBcOc9p8v
This was a very informative video we just left there yesterday but it was just to stay overnight on way home from vacation but we'll be back this summer
There have been several times in the last few years I’ve had high school ball teams & other school groups going to the area wanting to spend some time in Gatlinburg but we’ve had to make other plans since the town no longer wants school buses or any other type of bus parking anywhere near town. They don’t want the local people there anymore. Shame, shame!😢😢

Great work 👍👍👍...do You have video with places to eat in Gatlinburg ???
any best suggestions for older folks who can't walk for too long?
Gatlinburg has a free trolley that you can get on and off at many places. The Villiage is a great little place to get out and walk around.
This is my hometown and it has been destroyed by tourism, all the houses within 45 mins are millions of dollars, all of the locals have been pushed out and tourists are buying the beautiful land and cutting it all down to build air bnb's it is so sad to see it now. Does gatlinburg have a lot of crime? Like do we have to worry about covering our drinks at the bars or being grabbed in the parking lots?
No it does not, I feel safe there all hours of the day with my family.
Awesome video. First time visitor coming up next week. Had the following questions for you:
1. What in your opinion is the best mountain coaster experience?
2. For Anakeesta and specifically Astra Lumina, is that best to do at night or during the day it is an equally good experience?

I've been told it is bad for parking in town...pay for lot parking or get towed which is expensive
$10 for the whole day at a city parking garage is not a big deal. You can ride their free trolley all you want.
Sounds to me like you better bring all the money you have if you want to see half of the activity’s
Our watch our Free & Cheap things to do video here: ruclips.net/video/ZrjZQ87AfSA/видео.html
Glad I found this video. Was looking to visit. Now that I see how much a tourist trap it is. I'll pass.
These are just city activities, the draw is the GSMNP.
Ryan this was awesome but their prices are getting higher and higher so for little guys like me I can't afford to come down there anymore sorry
The old smokey music is great I love it
Thank you for doing vlogs like this. Really fun to see new things as well as old favorites. Well done.
Thanks Gary...more to come!
What do you think about tail tides?
Is this recorded in real time? Im wondering if we can park and walk to the things we want to do. I don't want to rely on the trolley.
Not real time, walking was editing out to keep the video length reasonable. Everyone is different, but I can walk the strip from one end to the other in not too long of time without much difficulty.
You should've turned back and shown River Rd.
Aside from fishing there wasn't much I would have been able to add to this list.
Too over commercialized for my liking. Too many people.

Great video! Full of very useful info. Can we also get a things to do in the fall when Fall rolls around 😁
We plan to do some fall guides later this year....thanks!
😢i thought the smokey mountains was for the national park and hiking...not which attractions to spend oodles of money at..
Going tomorrow 🎉
I absolutely love these walks great job buddy
We hope it helps other families coming to Gatlinburg! Thanks Tom...Soli Deo gloria!
What happened to the area that burnt recently?
Here is a look at the fire - ruclips.net/video/n5uZj3KLWis/видео.html

Thanks for the video! I didn't know about the knife making. My husband would love that.
looks like a beautiful place to live, but I keep seeing these video from some guy who tows their cars away and he makes money off of them and videos.
Good luck. I PASS

We hope you have a great time in Gatlinburg Tim!
Are you just walking when you did the tour? I was just thinking cause im planning for our trip and want to know if everything is walking distance cause i heard parking is expensive
Correct, I walked from one Gatlinburg entrance sign to the other while filming this video. Hope our other videos can help with your planning!
@@AdventureIsOutThere will check it out thank you!
@@PrestJane 👍
what are some easy trails that arent going to be super crowded. preferably with a waterfall
Downtown at that gas station right there where you at the very end of town there is a cici's Pizza that has the best pizza in town
Thank you so much. Your video hit on so much, and great variety for someone that has never been there. My son and I are coming down in two weeks. Can’t wait!
What a holiday destination, they have everything "to do" in Gatlinburg, Tennessee (GT) which gives one possible
tourist attraction for the locals and visitors - AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR MUSEUM, as they already have the luxury
cars and the "Star Cars" attraction, a collection of immaculately restored mustangs, corvettes, camaro's, T-birds,
barracudas, superbees, pontiac's, plymouth's, GTO's, GTX's, etc. Americans and Latin Americans absolutely love
classic American Muscle Cars, the "Museum" would be a favorite among the "visitors" and "locals". A "Car Club"
can then emerge, with people in the General Area (within 3-4 hours drive) could actually "keep" their muscle cars
there at the Museum, and "all the running costs" like upkeep, maintenance, registration, insurances etc. could be
recovered by the Museum, and the owners can actually take home the cars for say "half the time" and then leave
it in the "Museum" for "half the time" - You could have a hot-rod, or muscle car collector, with say 2 or 3 cars, who
can drive there with 1 car, leave that car, pick-up the "other car", and drive home, all within an easy Sunday Cruise.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the Museum is "popular", owners can get a Fuel Voucher for the Sunday Drive. Entry Costs? $20 adults, kids free.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Ditto in places like Los Angeles, Silicone Valley, Las Vegas, San Diego, Miami, Texas, New Orleans, Utah & Phoenix.

Hello Ryan, amazing video I showed my family as I’m thinking about relocating to that area of TN. Would you happen to know any real estate agents or contractors?
Thanks! I would reach out to our friends in this video. I put their contact info in the description: ruclips.net/video/tbmR0b_NbEA/видео.html

Wow! Thanks so much for the video. You helped me plan my whole trip!
We got down to Gatlinburg yesterday from PA, you’ve helped us plan our trip thank you! Currently in Dollywood today!
Happy to help Laura!
👍
Such a great video as always! The only thing I was waiting for was the Space Needle 😊
Thanks SMFFF!
Great video! Looking forward to the food video, don't forget the great food along River Road and up 321.
Thanks Lance! Will do!
