How to Fix Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 Performance, Wii on MMJR (see description for PROTIP)

In this video I go through a simple fix for Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 that will improve performance.
PRO TIP
In MMJR2 - you can actually use an Onscreen Hotkey to toggle Skip EFB Access from CPU - so you don't have to dive into the quick menu everytime you want to use the IR pointer. Go to the in game settings menu, Overlay Controls, Onscreen Hotkey. I have NOT tested performance on MMJR2 though.

Hey!
I have a problem with Super Mario Galaxy. At the begining of the game, when you get to the Dome and have to point at a luma that turns into a star and click A, it doesn't work for me!
I tried turning on and off the skip EFB but still not working. I'm on an European ROM. Any idea of what can be going wrong?

Try to clear cache on the menu of Dolphin (click on the 3 dots) or try to launch the game with a more low internal resolution

I have the same issue. Touch screen works on menus etc and moving star cursor…but won’t detect star bits or fruit etc. 🤦🏼‍♂️ game is unplayable with out it 🥲

@@kingactonsim You have to disable "Skip EFB Access from CPU" , but for me, when you disable this option, your game gonna have performance issues (From 60 FPS in 2.5x to 20 FPS in 1.0x) so I suggest you to only disable it when you need it. (btw i'm french so my english is not perfect sorry)

@@Quizuke that’s my problem. I change the EFB setting, my game still runs full speed but the pointer still doesn’t register. Very weird. 🤷‍♀️

PowerTools through Decky:
Turn SMT off
I think this works the best. Not perfect but close.
