  • Why is your content not delivering leads and sales?
It can be tricky to pinpoint exactly why the majority of content doesn't deliver a good ROI.
As a content marketing agency, we've identified 7 clear mistakes you could be making with your content marketing.
These mistakes aren't often talked about, but they can have a huge impact on your success...
    0.23 Number 1: You're pressure posting
You post random content, that's quite thin and surface level and fails to connect with your audience.
2.03 Number 2: You don't have a clearly defined goal
Each piece of content you create should help you achieve a specific business goal. Posting randomly for 'awareness' just won't work!
2.27 Number 3: You start creating content as soon as you get inspired
Controversial one! But when you get a great content idea, don't try to create it straight away. Because you'll realise you have a list of things to do and you'll forget about it.
3.55 Number 4: You don't have time in your calendar
You don't have dedicated time in your calendar for content creation - that means you're inconsistent!
4.55 Number 5: You don't have a repeatable publishing process
When you have a repeatable publishing process, such as posting a video on a Monday and a blog on a Wednesday, it makes it easier to remain consistent.
6.05 Number 6: Not sharing your content with your audience
Don't just create content and move on to the next thing, you need to make sure you're sharing and repurposing your content to get the most out of it
7.30 Number 7: Not revisiting the content after it's gone live
You should go back over old content to improve it and update it - this can lead to more leads and sales of relevant products.
Which one of these mistakes are you making with your content? Let me know in the comments below...

I'm getting better at this since starting the podcast, where I have a morning set aside every week to record one episode, but a backlog of ideas that go into it, but problem number 3, "creating content as soon as you get inspired" still gets me in the written form. Usually ends up as marketing emails or social posts, before digesting how I feel about it into different formats!

Really got a lot out of this video! Especially #7 - I revisit my previously posted content now and then to check up on the things you mentioned (performance, thumbnail, title, etc) and often adjust them, but great point to actually plan that into my "content schedule" - thanks!

Thanks so much, @ElectricRob Yes it's the hardest thing to go back and update content, especially if you like the 'creating' it part and want to move onto the next thing when you're done!

Thanks for that wonderful piece. Although I'm just a beginner in this tech world, I understand but little, coming across your video is an amazing thing for me, because I gained a lot of insight about stuff that has to do with content creation as I'm planning to create my first content .
