I plumbed a hot shower for my, not even slightly spoilt cockapoo, but I used a thermostatic valve from Toolstation so no mixer to fiddle with and she gets just the temperatures she likes every time, also have spray head with screw in reservoir for the shampoo.

As a mountain biker with trails minutes from the house I have had a outdoor shower for decades. Some time you can arrive back looking like "THE THING" from the swamp! : )
Shower installed dur the BC period ( Before Children ) under the sink done in heap with a mixer valve one out take.
Now that I have 2 teenagers in tow : ) I use a gas powered shower so Open the garage hang the bottled gas gas powered shower, the hose lock fits the intake.
We just shower with what ever you are wearing ! Shorts and cycle tops. Once layer 1 of mud is gone then round 2 with boxers on!
Small power washer 30 bar lives full time in a false dove box too : ) Power washer Dove house one makes people laugh.. but very handy..

There's a company called aquor water systems that make a Hot+Cold Hydrant - granted it's 300 quid, but it would have saved you all those fittings, and the internal faff. It's also frost rated and drains down every time you disconnect the hose.

Jimmy, I'm a little disturbed that you didn't remove your sticky label from the pipe before you pressed it, bad lad....... All joking aside I've just fitted an external Doggy Spa which claims to be frost proof from a company called Challis based in the UK, it's a complete unit with combined check valves but the only down side is you do have to blend the water temperature manually on the external outlet but the plus side is that apparently you do not have to vent any standing water within the system to prevent freezing, guess the proof is in the pudding, I'll keep you posted. Ps. Hope Ted, Emily and yourself are doing well....
