The 8wt is like using a 4wt rod. This rod is ideal for short quick accurate casts. But even at 8’5” it is just as accurate on long ones too. This rod is a beast for smallmouth also. But the 11’ 3wt is one for the Euro enthusiast. It is easier to use and you are able to hoss the trout in. Brought 36 to the net yesterday with it. That extra 6in really paid off compared to the 10’6” H3 3wt. I have used this rod and will take the Recon 2wt or 3wt over the H3. But I have not been able to use the 5wt yet. I can’t get past the H3 9’6” 6wt 3F. There needs to be more reviews on this series and yet I see rods that I’ve never heard of in their top ten. Seems like they are simply trying to promote new rod companies over the ones that have made their footprint in this sport.

The logo is a bit more discreet than that horrible bright white on the Helios rods.
