Slurred speech is one of the most common symptoms of prolonged exposure to serious riffage. Don't forget to take breaks every 2 hours the next time you're listening to Immutable.
Thankfully Immutable is only a few minutes north of an hour, so most listeners are safe as long as they don't listen to the full run multiple times in a sitting.

What's insane is that many talented musicians can break down Meshuggah in many cool ways, however very few can make something as original as Meshuggah. I mean there are certain gimmicks Meshuggah uses, but the trick is how they make it groovy and organic instead of gimmicky and generic. There's a pulse to it rather than a beat, it just feels very much alive and breathing - while it also somehow feels super extradimensional and desolate. Great break down 👌
Yay, finally another installment in the "Stuff ______ Does" series! The world can be at peace again. (I will never get “Frozen Fish Head, My Dog Turkey” out of my head)
I love how you break it down like we're in a music theory classroom! So now people that aren't knowledgeable can actually understand what's happening within all these polyrhythms/meters.
I have never seen any other band that makes such use of polyrhythmic as meshuggah does. Feel like, that really sets them apart from most other metal bands.
When you actually listened to all of Catch 33 and managed to "tell the songs apart" you unlock Chicken Tikka Marshgugah as a recipe, automatically added to your brainmail.
I love how for the "simple" example he used a part from I, their most chaotic basically unrepeatable song that they can't play live lol. Seriously though, he absolutely nailed both the playing and the tones. Shuggah are the bess boyz
Fantastic job on this Marzipan video, your playing is great and the fact you are able to break down those time signatures is very impressive. Happy to see Corridor of Chameleons get some love, I don’t know if they ever play that one live. Perpetual Black Second is their heaviest song and has my favorite riffs.
@@radalict thanks for the recommendation, I’m not very familiar with Koloss. Checked out the track, it’s a good one, considerably moodier than a lot of their later material
I completely believe, with every fiber of my being, that Meshuggah started as a band, because they wanted to afford bigger guitars and bigger drums and then they decided "Yo, this kinda grooves, let's roll with it" and music history was born.

Many a band can play djent but only does meshuggah make it sound like you're communicating with some sort of extra dimensional being/ alien.
Groovy and organic?
This is some of the most repetitive and boring shit in existence
The vocals are criminal
other bands reduced things to gimmicks, but meshuggah is perpetually an organic machine of awesome. for me anyways

That polymeter explanation is brilliant well done. And people said homeschooling is of no use tsk tsk
It's also nice to see it called what it actually is: a polymeter and NOT a polyrhythm.
Homeschooling from RUclips and Patreon for the win.
Undoubtedly influenced by Yogev Gabay's great videos explaining Meshugah polyrhythms. Check out his channel!
I'm embarrassed to admit how much better I understood that than other explanations I've seen.

My only problem with this video is that you don’t have more of this style. I loved it, please make more boys of bands do stuff
Love the fact that you were able to play Mucinex’s hardest galloping riff so casually. Great work as always
These types of posts are sooo funny. They are like a funny SNL skit, plus informational. I like Ben's style of humor.
