Ace Forein yep me too
Same, it doesn't really get in the way for me. half the time i forget it's even there
I'm that person drawing on their tiny phone with my finger and the ad still at the top after like 2 years.
Same boi same 😂👌
Я тоже 😂
Same. 😅👌
Same though lol
Same xD. But I've been doing it for 4 years
Why is no one talking about how talented he is? The art and art style are crazy beautiful.
Maddie so u want me to like.
Because we know that he is
Let's not forget his voice
@@tiredcaet Yup

I didn't but then they started giving me animated ads making me unable to draw as it would lag the entire app.
I've been using this damn thing for 4 years now and only now just noticed it
_Yikes_
NOPE
No it was never an issue for me
Me using my finger because my homemade stylus sucks: 😳
I have an apple pencil, and I still use my finger because it feels less awkward-
-crystallic-
I think that using your finger is honestly better.
Lmaooo same
@@uncreativeusername3772 no, using a pen is much faster and when making a diy pen was how i made mine is just a metal stick then put it inside in a pen then put wet cotton at the tip and if the cotton dries then add water again.
you can buy the stylus pen that i use !! its cheap , and really good for its price !! i can send the link if you want
Note: the free trials of locked brushes could be re-unlocked after the time, no limits. Which is a great deal if you don’t mind anything about watching ads
Another thing it’s not like Medibang, even when zoomed deeply in, there are no pixel arrangements(I guess), which remains much clearer for drawing and colouring
Another thing is that the layer UI is clean and convenient, you could add layers without asking you what layer(might be a flaw to you, might be a gospel for you, depends on you)
ibisPaint includes a stabiliser where it has more delay, good for drawing smooth lines, I recommend get it to 5-6
There’s no delay for me. When using stabilizer select real time?
Lol I always set my stabilizer to max oof
Yeah I don’t pay for any brushes but I can use them all for 18 hours
And for using ALL the brushes for 18 hours and not paying and only watching an at every 18 hours it’s not bad
@@JyunJyunie.00 me too i had no actually clue what it does i don't zoom in all the way in or out

You can make very professional art on Ibis in my opinion. I do art commissions, and all I use is Ibis because I cant afford anything else. People at first think I used photoshopped or paint tool sai, even though I used this cheap mobile app QwQ
i wouldn ‘ t consider it cheap -
@@vvv____ it mean...theres a free version and the payed version is only 7 dollars a month instead of 20 something dollar
Blue Butterfly I mean you can get some GOD level art in ibis if you know how to use it,so it’s pretty epic
hey, may i ask? why did when i save my drawings, the line always pixels. it can’t smooth, idk what’s wrong. Thankyou!
@@jemichelle07 it may just be the quality of your device because that's never happened for me. Maybe try drawing with a higher resolution? Not too big, but if you have the canvas too small it will turn out pixeley

In fairness, people did amazing “pro” work with just pencil, paper, and India ink and then a color wash or something. Any basic drawing app with some descent brush engine where you can control the lines, and give layers shouldn’t stop you from doing pro level work. Great video and nice drawing ;)
I agree it is work ethic and effort above all else you can use something that is really bad but you are a true artist if you know how to adapt to the problems

I've been using ibispaint for a year and I didn't know there were adds to this day
Ibispaintx was my first ever app on my phone. I draw a lot! then my parents started to notice so they bought me an ipad with apple pen!! i was so happy :DD
It was weird at first, but i got the hang of it now
I've had a apple pencil for ages but dont use it- any tips on how to make it feel less awkward?
-crystallic- When I first started using my Apple Pencil, it felt weird too. The best advice I can come up with is just to use it, if you use it often enough it’ll start to feel more normal. I was used to drawing on paper before I got into digital, so the smooth screens were always what really threw me off lol.
-crystallic- Well uh its kinda awkward for me too at first but apple pencil is sorta expensive so i’m not gonna waste that money.. so i just use it everyday and now i’m kinda used to it and its comfortable now
QwQ wawww You got and iPad and apple pen so lucky. I'm stuck with my smol finger ;-;
You have godlike parents oh god.. my parents could never....
Tysm for trying this app!I used this before I got procreate and it is a pretty good art app that’s free💞

Not bad though? One add (and sometimes the add doesn't work so it's no adds) for loads of brushes vs paying

I like how everyone treats these kind of apps as if there poor and terrible and you can't make any good art. Guys, you can make great art on anything! You don't need some expensive program just for good art! 😂( You Don't need to take my word for it it's just my opinion)
Mona is tired is IbisPaint the best free app out there? I want to know a real answer, not like this app or that app is good too, but is it better than Ibis or Ibis is the #1 free app in the world?
@@Mk-xx4yz I'm between Ibis or MediBang, since these 2 seem to be the most popular free apps.
I haven't started yet, but I will soon buy a Samsung Tab S6 with the S Pen, so I want to start to doing digital art as soon as I buy it! Adobe has many brushes, layers, paint bucket, features, etc.?
@@Seroxm13 Well then I'd personally start with ibis paint. It gives you small tutorials and ideas along the way when the app is installed, and they always update the amount of brushes on the app.
I tried MediBang and it was quite hard to get a small idea on everything. But thats probably because I used ibis paint for 4 years now...
@@atrix9600 too me ibis is a winner, I made a full reference on 1000 by 1000 sheet, also THERES COMIC FRAMES
yes i agree though when it comes to professional art you should higher your standards, especially if you’re planning to work for a company. ibispaint isn’t aterrible app though; it’s quite good. especially if you’re doing it as a hobbyist! :)
I'm in the awkward phase of transitioning from traditional sketching with pencils on a paper to digital drawing, so these videos are really helpful. Thanks!
I'm just looking around for a bunch of tutorials to draw on this app.
@Tabitha Albert thanks for the info! :)

i’ve used ibispaint x for about 3-4 years now and i recently got the paid version, and i can say it’s the only drawing app that is consistently easy and amazing to use for me. the layout is really simple, but you can still create complex things with the limited tools, it inspires you to use what you’ve got to create more. there are flaws, like the lack of folders for easier management, and the patterns seem a bit messy and unusable, but i’d recommend it for anyone looking for something easier than procreate & medibang.
love ur pfp
@Kai Li so true. or ipa and/or jailbreak if you have ios
@Kai Li however, some modded apks have flaws. for example, you can't backup the app settings, or you can't export your artworks as mp4/psd/ipv/etc. everytime i try to export my drawings, the app just crashes or an error saying 'file not supported' always pops up.
Cool Art,Kind of nice to know that someone is also using Ibis Paint X . Also Kind of grew up with it😊. Up till now I'm still using fingers but I'll definitely get there where I can upgrade some equipment since it Looks so neat to watch. Aspiring to be like you someday💞
Man your art is fricking beautiful, holy hell
I've been using Ibis Paint X for around a year or so and I honestly love it! The ads are around 15-25 seconds and then you get all the brushes free for 18 hours! I never minded the ads on top so it's all good for me.
I agree with most of your points of what you said. Ibis paint x is a great app, but what turned me away from it was the lack of palm rejection. I tried looking for the setting, and even went as far as being careful not to rest my hand on the screen but I couldn’t work with it in the end. Clip studio and procreate is where it’s at for me. I’m actually comfortable with the UI in clip studio, but I agree, they need to fix it as well 😅 I really love how in depth you went with this video Josh! Can’t wait for the next one!
emi_ iynks ibis paint x actually does have palm rejection.
Mariyam Rashid where am I supposed to look in settings?
emi_ iynks open an artwork or just create a new one. From there open settings. It is part of the brushes menu. Then scroll down. Underneath the graph for pressure sensitivity, you will find a button that enables you to turn palm rejection on or off.
That cool how you just turned it from grey scale to color.. Iam struggling with that..also glad to see your no longer afraid of color😂😂
He used a cool tone grey and then set the layer to multiply
The adds for me never mattered. The app is amazing and I love it. It’s a lot better and has a ton of options for an app with in app purchases.
Ok so your telling me I've been using my finger and phone to draw and I've had this exact same ipad in my house (" • _•)
Unless you prefer drawing on a smaller screen. Then stay there
These iPad Pro speakers are insane. The way your voice came booming through 😂😂😂
I’ve gotten recommendations of Ibis paint for awhile which actually interest me. I’ve been using Clip Studio Paint for the longest now so I would want to try something experimental now and then. Great review :)
Everything he said that are "cons" never bothered me. I love using ibispaint. 😘
When I use the fill tool In ibisPaint I feel like it’s not that good
Do you have the same problem or is it my phone? (Iphone 6+)
Gyra I have the same problem but the same phone
Gyra
When I use it, it’s only a problem if I’m coloring on the same layer as the line art.
Fizzy Draws You should put a layer under the line art and trace it with the color you will use to fill it then remove the lineart (Make it invisible) then use the fill tool.
Alexandra Meirelles
Yes I usually make a layer underneath but sometimes I forget..
Alexandra Meirelles or you can make the lineart, do another layer underneath, and fill in
Crystal Clear, soothing voice and drawing skills... I could watch u for hours
I like to think that ibis paint is a beginner artist app, because a lot of the brushes and effects are simple. Except how complicated it was to use it at first.
AND HOLY COW YOUR VOICE IS SO SMOOTH!!
Tip: if you want to color neatly, you can add another layer, select bucket and tap the thing you wanna color. Then go onto your previous layer and you might see lines around your image. Select brush and start coloring your image!
I remember IbisPaint X never closing when you backed out off it. I thought it was a bug, but it could also be a new feature, which is very annoying. I switch apps A LOT, cuz I watch videos and chat while drawing, so it’s really bugging me rn. Hope they change it.
Ibis Paint X is a really amazing app imo. The filters, brushes, screen tones, and blending modes are really amazing, especially for a beginner artist like me who uses a finger in drawing the lineart and just implements the sketch there. I also use it for photo edits, you can easily download fonts there too.
I love Ibis Paint X. The ad doesn't bother me and it makes a really nice simplistic drawings especially when I am using my XP-Pen.
Omg amazinggggg you really capture the details of each aspect in Ibis Paint X
I've been using ibis paint x for 2 years and in my opinion it is really a very good app once u get used to it and u can make very amazing artworks using this app even though I'm using my fingers
I'm getting a new laptop for my tablet because you inspired me to draw again!
Wow ur rlly lucky
Could you do a review of MediBang? I think it’s better in many ways.
(Edit) Ok, ok I think I overestimated it. In all honesty I haven’t dived into both apps, so this comment was written in a rush.
Many ways? :v thats Funny dude.
Ibs paint is phenomenal compared to MediBang or better in “many ways”
@dreamie Same
Baqir Mk It’s good on pc. On a phone the app is eh.
easy for me, the shortcuts are nice too, i think medibang is for intermediates
but overall i like it so far
I don’t use ibisPaint as much anymore, just when I’m editing my drawings I make from my finger and phone on Medibang! I still love medibang more than Ibis, for me my art looks more “professional” and nice
i prefer usin medibang 2
ibis has some weird permissions + the ads are a no no
olidave garden i agree! Especially after the new update and layout it’s a no from me ahaha. I just LOVEEEE medibang to death because I’m not kidding when I say my drawings look 102945748 times better than when I’m drawing on any other sites. Even some people don’t believe I draw on my phone, MediBang is just THAT great for me. #notsponsored
Tabitha Albert oh really? What kind of device are you using for it? I like how you can customize the brushes, default settings for some of them are not to my liking (that’s why I change them) and I also love how I can make my own brushes through it! 😂
Tabitha Albert oh super cool! You do you! But now I am curious, what kind of programs do you use? Is it good or recommended if you still use it?

You should try clip studio for iPad, that’s what I use. It feels like drawing on desktop.

I love ibis paint! Even though I'm late, I'm glad you reviewed It.
i definitely agree with you on this, I use clip studio on iPad and I tried using free apps to give suggestions to my friends and so far only ibispaintx feels more like clip studio to me, also it would be very interesting to see you review clip studio from the stand point of a painter!
I would say the UI of clip studio might seem bad at first but slowly I got used to it and I actually prefer the flexibility of the UI, for example when colouring I like just having the colour wheel open instead of having to go back to the tabs just to try a colour, dislike it, and open the tab again, it's more convenient, the flexibility is just insane
I'm getting a art tablet soon.
You inspired me to take my time on my art and try something new!!!!
I don't use a pen to draw when using ibis paint. Mainly as I don't have one! I draw with my thumb, which to others it seems hard, but it isn't as hard as it seems. When I see others use a pen it just amazes me for some reason!
(Btw, amazing art!!!!)
This piece of art gives me beauty and the beast vibes
i like how so many people talk about ads on the app, just support the developers god its like 10 fucking dollars im poor as fuck and even i can pay for the no ads, literally cheaper than a month of netflix and its worth every penny
I use this to draw more than I do on my wacom+photoshop setup on desktop. drawing a smooth screen just hit different compared to scratching on an overpriced plastic digitzer ahem wacom
Agreed
Exactly
I don't know why I'm saying this and nobody will care but,
I downloaded the app about a month ago, I didn't have any pens so I had to do it by finger, after a while I got frustrated and I asked for a pen, so my parents ordered one. After a while we found out that the pen came from Hong Kong, I am not inpatient but a lot of time passed and the pen still didn't arrive, we waited months and months and now I'm just a sad person whose art is trash and has no pen
You might be thinking why the hell does this comment exist?
I honestly don't know
Have a good day
Edit: I now have to pens
I have an apple pencil and a tablet, but I still use my finger on my ipad because its much easier and wayyy less awkward feeling-
-crystallic- great news! My pen is arriving in a week, I can't wait 😊
Anyway good for you! I hope you are happy and have a great day!
Edit: I now have two pens
the first 10 seconds already had me laughing 🤣
I use krita on my laptop and ibispaint X on my phone. (Totally unrelated) I like listening to K-Pop when I draw cos it just hypes me up. Whatever music you like, I recommend listening to it while you draw. :)

The best feature of this app is getting a time lapse video of your work
I dont care about the ads I just care about how bad i am at coloring.
I like your vid, it really helps alot
Hey, so I eventually want to go to art school. (when i’m older obviously.)
But, I know to get into art school, your art has to be at a certain level.
And while I do practice a lot, I want to have someone or something to teach me, because I’m not making much progress.
If anyone knows of any *free* classes I can take online for digital art, please let me know.
the reason I can’t pay is because I’m a minor. My parents wouldn’t let me spend money on something like that
thank you!!
For 2 years atleast I've been using ibspaint x and my fringers, finally after getting my art tablet few days back I've switched to my Pc and to photoshop and medibang paint, which was a bit hard since I was very comfortable with ibs paint but photoshop and medibang paint are very easy to use too in short I really love them all eventhough I sometimes wish medibang paint had some special filters like ibs as it helps out alot. ^.^
Yes it's cheap and not professional. But it still provides a platform for broke artists like me. I can't even afford quality drawing papers. All I hv is the tab (galaxy tab A) my dad was given from his workplace. The "adds" are the last thing I'm worried about 😂
Nobody’s gonna talk about how fast he learned the brushes to the point where he could make a professional looking piece of art and color it in a few hours?
I like using Autodesk sketchbook, it is free and you dont need to watch adds!
I did use ibis paint first but then it got laggy. So I changed to autodesk, and it had some problems but overall it is great🙆
I am a 12 year old kid who happens to like drawing, I wanted to improve by trying digital drawing, and so I recommend autodesk if ibis is just not working anymore😣(ibis is still a great app though!!😅)
I know this was 2 months ago, but I don’t care. This is my experience with it and if I seem mean, I’m sorry that’s not my intention. Alright here we go:
I’ve tried to use autodesk again, but I didn’t like it. The version I was using was the free version, and it’s pretty limiting, well for me. And there’s no fill tool, so having to just color it by hand was just long and boring. Maybe that’s just me, maybe I’m just a person with really high standards, maybe I’m just being mean, idk. But I know that I didn’t really like autodesk. I’m glad that autodesk was able to work for you, and wish the best of luck.
Omg!! I'm so glad I've found your channel, also your a POC 😁😁😁✊🏾
I have that app! It’s a great app I mostly use it for editing art I drew!
In my opinion ibis is a decent app for any level artist I've seen "Professional" level art from many people that use this app but I'm sure there just more acustom to using the app to fit there needs than you did since your acustom to using high quality art apps. Either way not a bad art app to start with
Love your art, it’s really cool. I can’t even draw in ibis paint X, without a stylist-
I have been using ibis paint x for 4 years and the ads have never been a big problem
